@Spartan409 Well danny carey was in a side project called zaum, and they have songs that use different parts from songs like merkaba, and third eye. I don't think third eye was mastered during this era of tool. So in a way, yes he was playing a part that is featured in third eye.
What's Danny using for toms? I see 5 toms and 1 roto-tom (1:27). I've only seen and read about him using 4 toms (8",10",14", 16") and the 1 roto-tom. Looks like the extra one is a 12" mounted left of the ride, where he normally has the 10" and the 8" ended up to the left of the hi hat. Does anybody know anything on this?
His kit's a little different in several ways, the ride cymbal positioning for example. Ease of recording dictates some of these things. As for the reason behind using a 12 inch tom in addition to his now normal setup, who knows. More drums is better right?

First off, not a seven-sided star. Second off, it's one of the many illuminadi symbols. The best thing about tool is they're all about progression. Sometimes in order to achieve progression, one must analyze faults and mistakes; as well as obstacles :)

And I don't think Aenima was an angry album, thats when they started changing from anger to love, not 10,000 days. Read "The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life" or a good Kabbalah book and their lyrics will mean something totally differant to you. Thats the stuff that Maynard is into.

So many people believe the meaning of the album is a play on words meaning to clean out your soul, or something along those lines. And while recording 10,000 days Maynard did say he found Jesus, but it was an April fools joke.(look it up) Read interviews or do research about the band if you wish to argue with Tool nerds bro.
