  • k, i just got a song off itones put it in a mw video and apparently its copy right

  • @madcowmenton

    Bad news. EVERYTHING is copyrighted.

Get a dollar store keyboard and piece together background tunes.

That's the ONLY way to be sure.

OR go to incompetech -dot com

for Royalty Free stuff by Kevin MacLeod

  • Youtube has sold out, its PATHETIC, disabling uncopyrighted fucking bullshit? Who fucking cares????

  • BuriedTreasure255

If WMG files a claim, it comes down.

  • audio disabled due to greedy bastards and youtube sucks, all it does is throw advertisements at you. The net and all companies are polluted with greed and seflish gratification. What happened to the open source artistic approach to life? I'm getting more and more frustrated and annoyed by this bullshit every fucking day.

  • Hannibalektr

YouTube is a business. They have stockholders to pay, overhead and they need to make profit.

Only if we abolish Capitalism will we abolish greed

on the internet and every other place where there is buying and selling.

  • Youtube isn't the greedy people I'm talking about. If people aren't making money on their copyrighted music or taking claim to it they are promoting it. It's greedy on their part. Youtube has so many advertisements I'm clicking boxes left and right.. now thats not due to lawsuits, that's due to greed, so thats my opinion on youtube, and thats how I thought I wrote it.

  • whoreallygivesacrap

Hey I agree with you 100%

  • The only solution to this problem is, put an intro song to the copyrighted music. That way, they will never find the soundwaves of the audio of your video. :)

  • Lol This idea went through. With some record companies!

  • bloodinthemetal

    Bottom line:

What would be $ better $ for them?

    They're figuring out out slowly.

  • Very good idea. Have you contacted YouTube about this, or gotten the idea out there at all other than this video?

  • Memorandumi

    Like they'll listen??

  • Well, have you even tried? I mean, wouldn't the point of this video be to get the idea out?

Or are you hoping others will do that?

  • Memorandumi

Google laid off 40% of their employees a few months ago.

    There's nobody THERE to listen.

  • Oh, that's interesting. Well, I guess with 60% left, your suggestion will be going to important people. ;)

I'm not trying to make you do it, but I'm just saying it couldn't hurt.

    Your choice, really.

  • hey...love ur idea and it's catching on!

i have a few family videos (all set on private) on youtube. Companys still enforce their copyrights.

Sony Music Entertainment put adds on the videos containing their songs. (good on them for not just disabling the audio- i thing they have grown up and seen that adds could actually work in their favor...who would have known)

WMG still insist on being tight asses.

  • hitmohit

At least WMG doesn't have the whole video removed.

    No warnings, no strikes.

  • yeah true...but the video is my own footage so i don't think they can take that off.

i've never got a warning or strike....don't know how that works.

  • Some music companies order YT to take down the whole video.

  • Since all our videos go through YouTube's uploading 'process' and get reviewed, why aren't they enforcing these so-called 'rules' THEN?

Why do they allow videos to be uploaded that they will just remove later anyway?!?

And the biggest question: Why do they only pull the plug on some people, but not all?!? There's plenty of copywrite infringments still around that don't get touched. Some that even profit from it. I never profited from my videos. Unreal.

  • wurlytone

Yeah, it's totally effed up but that's the way it is.

  • If we are using THEIR music in our videos, then THEY are already getting FREE advertising from US IN THE FIRST PLACE. Matter of fact, they should be paying US & thanking US for advertising their stuff. Especially if it's some old washed up rock star who's old tunes are getting exposed to a new generation via you & I. (see my channel for details) I made videos for fun, not for profit. Yet people like me are targeted as lawbreakers.

  • wurlytone

Supertramp is washed up. The music company that owns the rights to it really SHOULD be happy you used it.

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Roger Hodgson.

  • Yea, Roger's rep said they were happy, BUT wanted me to change the title and add additional information & tags, which would've been fine except, in the same email they also included an ultimatum, 'do it or it will be removed', which didn't sit well with me. I already had him credited in the description I when I uploaded the video 2 years ago lol

  • wurlytone

No, I would have removed it or did an audioswap

THEN emailed them back, told them I don't like

being threatened, that they should have said

it NICELY, then told then to go f*ck themselves.

You should not have allowed them the satisfaction of removing your video and giving you a warning on your channel.

  • Great point, you're right. No big, what's done is done, I could appeal it, but I was gonna still remove it anyway, and if cool videos are gonna continue getting yanked off the air, I doubt I'll spend as much time on youtube in the future anyway.

  • When they threaten to remove a video they MEAN it.

If it ever happens again, TAKE IT DOWN then make your own obnoxious, sarcastic joke song, with yourself purposely singing badly, "They made me take down the copyrighted song I don't think I did nuthin wrong [music company] can go F**K themselves, do-do-do-dooooo..."

  • That's a good idea.

BTW, have you ever been told you look a lot like Robert Deniro? I bet you could do a great impersonation!

  • wurlytone

Yes many people have said that.

And I do a great impersonation but not on purpose.

    It's a New York thing.

    You talkin ta ME??? :-)

  • Haha I really got a laugh from this...you made a good rhyme there! You gotta finish writing this song, and then do a singing DeNiro impersonation! I'm tellin ya.....the mole, slicked back hair....

you'd kill 'em ! (no pun intended heheh)

Then again......Mr DeNiro might not be the best person to have a copywrite conflict with......lol

  • wurlytone

    IRL De Niro is shy.

Jack Nicholson on the other hand won't hesitate to break a camera over your head or smash your car windows with a 9 iron.

  • Wow thanks so much YouTube for disabling audio because your to fucking stupid to issue a disclaimer against copyright infringement... oh wait YOU HAVE ONE! IF YOUTUBE DISABLED THE AUDIO TRACK FOR THE VIDEO YOU ARE TRYING TO WATCH COPY AND PASTE THIS FUCK YOU CORPORATE AMERICA FUCK YOU MICROSOFT FOR MAKING SHITTY GAMING CONSOLS (just wanted to throw that in there) AND REALLY FUCK FUCK FUCK YOU YOUTUBE YOU BUNCH OF FAIRY FAGGOT CUNT HATING NAZI FUCKING TIT NIGGERS! FUCK YOU YOUTUBE...FUCK

  • i agree to his idea...if only the record companies were smart enough to understand. It's a win win situation for everyone!

  • hitmohit

    Who knows what they're thinking?

  • ive figured out a way of proving that i have legal rights to use this music everyone check out my vid

  • This might have something to do with the $799 Million Lawsuit YouTube got hit with for allegedly distributing and using Mediaset, an Italian media company, audio and video files illegally.

Mediaset said that YouTube has in its video database about 4,643 Mediaset-owned videos, amounting to around 325 hours of broadcasting, that YouTube hasn't paid for the rights to use.

  • Hey man, Great Video, I had my Account REMOVED by youtube probly for using songs in the videos even thought i only did it like once or twice it's retarded.

Anyways, I made this Channel to make people realize what YouTube is doing and how unfair it is for them to just REMOVE YOUR CHANNEL without even a warning! Please subscribe to this channel and check it out!

  • Fortunately and sometimes UNfortunately

    the law is the law.

  • It's up to the music and movie industry.

YouTube has been sued so many times they just

    pull a video when it's DMCA'd.

    Besides, it's Federal law.

  • how come on one song i have they disabled the audio. on anoyher it just blocks it in some countries. whats the difference, it is doing both for the same reason ( owned or licened by UMG ). why is one audio disabled and the other blocked in some contries??? can u choose what it will do from the 2?

  • Copyrighted. The owner of the copyright choses what to do. Some copyrights are limited to certain countries though.

Use Royalty-Free music from Kevin MacLeod

    YouTube user name

    kmmusic

    Subscribe to Kevin !

audionautix (YouTube user name) is another source of free music.

ALWAYS give these guys credit for their music.

    That's all they ask.

  • i had music i bought

  • Music CDs are still copyrighted.

  • thats not fair

  • Maybe not, but it's legal.

  • it said (watever its name was) claimed copyright on your video. then i tried to log in my u tube account and bit said this account has been closed due to copyright.....

  • If it was fraudulent you should file a counter notification.

Did you have any music on the videos?

If EVERYTHING on the videos was your own original content, file counterclaims.

  • omfg my account got disabled cuz copyright!

  • Justified or fraudulent?

  • omfg i got my audio taken away from 3 of my videos! how do i get them back?? i tried a disclaimer, how do you get, say moderators to look at it and restore the audio?

  • They found a digital copyright signature.

Not much you can do except reupload the vids without music.

  • very good idea...

  • I'm not the first person yo think of it. :-)

  • haha its still a good idea, i dont mind if theres ads on my video.

  • Yeah, it's kinda cool. :-)

  • tomken I hope that you realize that with the addition of high quality on videos come high audio quality and youtube doesn't prevent audio add-ons from downloading the video and ripping the audio out

  • Yes a LOT of people get free boot leg music that way.

  • How do you get an advertisement for the song.

BTW nice job on the "I have a New York accent. YOU GOTTA PROBLEM WITH THAT!? nice job and no i dont have a problem with that.

  • SOMETIMES a music company will just attach an ad.

    Sometimes they disable audio.

    Sometimes you lose your video.

I really AM a Noo Yawwkah LOL

  • Great video

    HONEST

  • I have another one on the way ~

  • I would also love to help others, I will be posting up my music ppl can use in vids on my "rpgmusiccomposer" account. because of what is going on it can be a good thing for us small time music composers to shine, while Warner Brothers looses their free adds to us lol.

  • Make sure you do the "Collective Commons" thing or else YouTube will break b*lls.

Make SURE you insist people give you CREDIT For it or you WILL press Copyright Claims.

  • I think it is a great idea. Maybe, we should just email or send a message to the record companies and ask if we can use their music. As long as they say it is fine and we give them credit then we can. They have channels on Youtube. It is driving me insane because even with audioswap we (Partners) can't use it if we click on enable revenue sharing. It took me so long to find the right song and then I get this message that I can't use it. We can't record audioswap prior because of copyright.

  • Some companies already do it.

    Many still. don't.

It's stupid. They're missing out on free advertising and extra revenue.

Emailing a big record company is like throwing a message in as bottle into the ocean.

  • I thought they were already putting ads on the videos with copyrighted songs. They did that to me on another account.. Then, suddenly, that video was removed for a TOS violation, along with another. I just don't get it. MAKE UP YOUR MIND, YOUTUBE!

  • And thank goodness for people like Kevin MacLeod, who offers royalty free music for your videos. All he asks is that you give him credit. A donation to him would be nice, too.

  • he asks donations?

so that means its not free

  • No, Kevin MacLeod does NOT ask for donations.

He makes musical scores for movies and stage shows.

He doesn't need nor ask for our money.

He just gives us FREE music.

  • Donations are not required.

  • SOME recording companies do the ad thing, many still do not.

  • Aah ok. I wasn't clear on that. At any rate, I'm choosing to go with free music.

  • I've had two videos and their audio track disabled by Utube I believe this was done due to heavy pressure from Warner Bros. and their greed for litigation. They could care less about our little videos but because of this I am now disabling Warner Bros. from my life and I suggest as much as possible hit them where it hurts stop buying Warner Brothers material. Stop buying their music stop buying their movies hit them hard in the pocketbook.

  • Unfortunately not many people will stand together in solidarity on ANYTHING.

Then they have the overseas markets.

  • Yes its like watching a muted video, copyright issues are everywhere! Then whats youtube for? dammit!!

  • YT has been repeatedly sued.

    Can you really blame them?

  • Disabled audio only happens if the labels have applied to YouTube's Content ID filter system. The audio will get disabled automatically. If the copyright holder doesn't like their music here on YouTube then it is simply their right and choice.

Others will maybe decide different ... like as removing the video or advertise the video. But still it is up to the copyright holder about the benefits they like or dislike (btw the SenseAds doesn't make sense when the video has less views).

  • Yes, but a LOT of small views= BIG views.

  • Some do this Tom. One of my sisters old videos now as an ad to it that links to a site were you can buy the song or CD. Its very cool. Anyways, long time no see. lol.

  • GARY!!! OMG I'm sorry.

Things are VERY busy here lately.

What record company did the ad?

Make a list of those who do & those who don't

    Good (vid) idea??

    - No charge. :-))

  • btw, got a beer...?

  • tomken8dy: I do! I have 2 bottles of Heinekens beer left, seriously!! lol.

  • tomken8dy: It was Nazareth - Love Hurts!

  • Some music companies do this already, but they are the smaller ones, not these huge ones like universal or rca. The big guys are to important to collaborate lol.

  • Their arrogance is costing them potential revenue.

  • why fuck you very much...have a nice day and please drive through....Gino

It's been fun,but i need to go burn some ants with a magnifying glass....it's been fun.don't forget your meds.........

  • Gino

    They have burning lasers now.

And tutorials on how to turn as cheapie pointer into a burner.

  • I rest my case....somebody left the door to the padded room unlocked...met a guy like this once in the corps.....i pushed him infront of a A1A traveling at about 25 mph....ooops....tactical error...mmmmm friendly fire.....yikes.....Gino

  • Tommy....delete this cocksucker and his vids.....he's freakin mental !!!!!

I may have to get Marine corps on his ass !!!.................Gino

  • You got any of that magic Peruvian Flour left? ;-)

    - Can't hurt.

  • your killin me....LOL LOL....wiseguy....Gino

  • I understand.

They make or break a party or event.

They speed people up or slow them down when appropriate.

They guide people through from start to finish

  • Too much common sense Tom..

    :0)

  • Music sets the mood, changes the mood. It can make you cry and even make your heart beat faster.

  • I found out the recording companies embed electronic code in their music that "phones home"

  • Fantastic idea! That is the way UMG is doing, but still some people from other countries can't view my videos! That is a shame! ..........I love your idea Tom! It is a benefit to everyone!

  • Karen!

I had a bad experience with their Polish branch last year but it got straightened out.

at least SOME people in the industry have enough sense to know an opportunity when they see it!

  • mmmmmm....Might be nice if understood this slobbering babble....but i don't read paranoia retard.....Dude crawl back in your cardboard box and beg for money....no wonder you can't keep a job....your a waste of bandwidth....Gino

  • my prior message is for theriseofTruth....sorry tomaso..it looks like we have a nut job on the loose....he must be looking for friends.....Gino

  • ok..I Faved it!! =)

  • RIGHT ON TOM..That's the BEST Solution I've EVER HEARD..

Just for that..I'm gonna create 100 channels and sub to you..LOL No, just kidding..but HIGH ACCOLADES!!

  • I finally took a good look at the situation and saw the stupidity of it.

"Content owners" are passing up a golden opportunity not only for free advertising but for revenue sharing too.

    It's bad business.

  • Hey Tom, They have already done this quite a while back if you look in the description of my latest video 2/3 weeks back you will see three links that will show you what is happening around here. I would post the links here but you know the rules. ERRR UTUBE

  • Yeah, I just haven't really paid much attention to it.

I don't upload copyrighted stuff of any kind.

Sometimes I use royalty-free music but other than that of EVERYTHING in my videos is original content, including all background photos, FX and even "music."

My intro tune - made it myself.

  • Too simple Tom, execs won't go for simplicity, disguise your idea with legaleze and double talk, then maybe you gotta chance.

  • Hmmmm...

I have to learn how to speak bullsh*t.

  • Good thoughts because they're going to upload the damn music anyway. Might as well get the adverts right?

  • As Al Capone said, "It's just good business." LOL

  • I'm not arguing with you

  • what a truly incredible Idea!

I was Audio Deleted For Using Tiny Tim"s Tip Toe Through The Tulips!

    Casey was Here ;D

  • You're sh*ttin me, right??

  • I don't argue wit nobuddy.

    It ain't healthy..........

  • good topic.

  • I try to stay current :-)

  • Thank you ,Jesus

  • Oh, u and Gino are dueling.

  • Hey, Google owns YT now, they're a big corporation and we all know big corporations are not very responsive to the little guy.

  • These artists should be grateful that people use their stuff...No one is profiting off them here on utube, makes me laugh.the music industry as a whole is a piece of shit, full of money grubbing criminals and now more than anytime before artists can get further without them and thats why they are pissed....you don't need a record company anymore !Tom it's a great idea and it would work...but to many paranoid retards loose where it counts...

Truth:you are a SPAMMING RETARD GO AWAY !!!...Gino

  • Who, me? Spammer??

  • No No...not you Tommy......i"m talkin to this freak show "theriseoftruth"He is a annoying spamming dipshit....nobody listens to him and he bugs the shit outta everybody....go bother somebody else...we are just fooling around trying to have some fun and don't need a maniac like you breathing down our necks...go find sombody else to harass...i don't know you pal......Gino

  • ginothehitman4

I think I'll stay neutral here.

I've already had more than my fair share of YT drama.

  • Your probably talking to lawyers when it comes to copyright issues. Your solution is too simple for unreasonable people like lawyers. If you want them to listen you will have to make is much more complicated and nearly impossible to do! :-)

  • Me And a friend (mia0899cs) BOTH got hit with copyright claims by UMG in Poand.

    It was buillsh*t.

    We won.

  • if i'm correct youtube already does that. they inform the music company -- the number of hits a video gets for music tom and place an ad on the page with that video. i have recieved permission and notices stating that in thr past

  • True, they've lightened up a LOT but there's still a long way to go.

  • Ive noticed that too.

But Ive also noticed that some vids have an advertisement underneath the vid with a link to download the track from Itunes. I dont know how they arranged that situation with yt, tho.

  • They did it to me too Tom. My vid "15 most unforunate t-shirts for a mug shot". They pulled it, I used "audio swap" to replace it...and a week later, a banner appears on the bottom of the vid telling people that if they like the song (that was originally there), they could download it through I-tunes...closing the barn door after the horse is out....morons.

  • Ass-backwards.

Maybe they used to be Congressmen...?

  • That would be best. Great idea. Sure beats the 'silent treatment'.

  • "No one dares... disturb the sound, of... COPYRIGHTED"

  • Why not MOVIE clips too?

Yeah I guess a few of them are cool, but a lot of them are still too stupid to see free advertising when they see it.

  • this is why people need to use my FREE music from my channel! You have an accent? I didn't notice. ;)

    okay maybe a little.

  • HEY, don't worry!

I'm attaching an annotation link to you too!!

  • by george I think you've got it!!!

  • by Lisa I think you're RIGHT! :-)
