  • Excellent brass-rock in style of the Buckinghams, late 60's The Jordan Bros. had a hit with Spencer Davis's Gimme Some Lovin'.

  • My brother Joe and I use to listen to them practice in their garage. In fact a friend of ours Ken M. played drums with them. We lived on St Peter St. and would walk down these steps just to listen to them. They did this 1 song called Basin Street Blues which was an instrumental between the sax and the guitar and I learned to play that song and played all the parts on guitar. We lived in Schuykill Haven from 1956 to 1969. We moved to Las Vegas because of my health.I still play that song.

  • Yes, they "sound white", and so disappointing to those of us UK Soul fans who seek a truly soulful (ie. emotional high spirited, gospel-influenced) vocal performance - however, they are obviously one of the many US vocal harmony groups influenced by the (often multi-racial) doo-wop line-ups of the 50s and early 60s, such as the Four Seasons et. al. Seen in that light, they actually sound OK compared to some!

Confused by the criteria of the UK Soul scene? You sure will be... :-)

  • Can't jump? ..must be white!

  • Thanks for the link. I grew up with the brothers and knew them all personally.

  • Cool song! My 1st time hearing it, but I like it. Thanks. I think that these are the same guys who recorded an obscure record called "Summertime On The Pier" about Atlantic City Steel Pier. I have been looking for that song for almost 10 years. Any help would be appreciated. An upload would be just too good to be true! Thanks again.

  • Very nice; thank you.

  • These are a group of brothers from Frackville PA (fellow Skooks) in the heart of the coal region, who were famous locally. They were a great talent in the 1950's thru 1980's, who never really got discovered. I'm from Schuylkill County and knew this group! A great bunch of guys.
