  • you dont c any one

  • execellent video and great analysis bro. you are one brave flashaholic!!! last year i was doing the same thing in a public area and 2 cops came and had fun with my lights, were impressed and left .lolzzz :)

  • @Ifrazcanada Glad you enjoyed man!

  • I have no need for a flashlight this powerful yet....I WANT ONE!

  • Did you meet a ghost?

  • nice review ***** thx

  • Great video. You seem like a nice person. Great flash lights.

  • really cool

  • Hi Patriot. I was looking through you tube for information on hid and led torches and came across your video. It is the first time I have came across you and want to thank you for uploading this video comparing different torches, my two choices are the jetbeam RRT-3 XML or would you recommend the SR90 Intimidator with Luminus SST-90 PhlatLight LED 2200 lumens.

Your Polarium PH50, is the doggs balls, and wipes the floor with everything, but for a mere mortal like me which would you suggest.

  • i think i see a ghost running by

  • nice, but you only shined the Olight at the concrete drainage and up in the air, would have been nice if you shined the rest of the stuff like you did with the other lights

  • What is the battery life on them?

  • will that stop the nazis when they come back?

  • This is the best video I've seen on you tube regarding these hi powered flashlights. Thank u patriot

  • i bet the 85 watt hid flashlight i saw the other nite would outshine the ph50

  • @clintpoonae It isnt 85 watt..I bet it came from china, Dont you know there the biggest fake rip offs in the world, the one you saw is really 30 watt but they say 85 watt,

  • @mrmadicbm its from hong kong and the person got it from ebay. i thought the only problem was the reflector size.

  • Please somebody answer! I buyid tustfire tr-t6 so is it as bright as this olight sr-90??? Thanx!:)

  • 6:05

  • damn thats a $2200 flashlight i cant see spending that kind of money unless i used it for a job or something like that

  • Where did you get it from?

  • @Xguy890 An acquaintance.

  • @Patriot36 whats an acquaintance

  • How did you got the Polarion PH50 Flashlight?

  • how much does the polarion ph50 cost get back at me ASAP....

  • @Xguy890 i'm not sure you might have to google it ASAP.

  • @Xguy890 coupla k its an SAR light, built to very high standards.

  • Thanks for the correction Patriot. When you're walking around with the light on the strap, is that the Olright? Does the wide corona make it more useful of a light than the Polarion for - let's say - taking a stroll with the wife and kids so you can see more? Also, I found a Polarion for sale and would like your advice on that as compared to the Abyss and Night Reaper. Hear that Polarion PH50 is the most powerful, but the Abyss and NR have advantages. I envy the PH50 and d confused now.

  • @supousa Yep, that's the SR90. Not necessarily but it does have longer run time and a good beam. The Abyss and NR are Polarions but if you're asking about a PH50...it's a great light but they run pretty hot which is why they're not produced anymore. The Abyss is a great all around professional HID but the SR90 is very high value. That is to day, great performance for not much money.

  • Is the Olright a better defense weapon when walking the streets because it can strobe (in a self defense situation)? and also see more due to the wide corona.

  • @MrSupousa I really don't think "weapon" is an accurate description but sure, strobe has its uses and is extremely effective due to the sheer output. Ultimately it can't stop a determined assault so other means of defense in combination of lethal and less than lethal would be required if one is serious about self defense.

  • Love how the camera automatically throttles back the light amp on the Polarion and the image stops being jerky. Also, the beam shape is much more obvious when you're walking around away from the camera than it is when you're right in front of it. Might be a good idea to show that more in future comparisons.

  • @RayneAngelus Will do man, thanks for the ideas!

  • LOL

  • damn man a strobe on these things would fuck people up.

  • Thanks for all the great videos patriot. God bless

  • @thegoldenhurricane Thanks for taking the time to watch! Merry Christmas to you!

  • my wife would kill me if i came home with all those lights!! great video Patriot!!

  • how do you afford all these!!! jeeze all i could afford was a trust-fire p7-41

  • 8:17 UFO landing in a sci-fi movie, lol

  • Great vid by the way

  • "A little bit jerky" - LOL

  • damn, great video also...

  • you have got a fucking cam

  • nice light and all but will it blend?

  • @WookieeStomper808 "Blend" as in Joe Peshi and Marisa Tomei in Alabama or "blend" as in blending alcoholic beverages? :)

  • @Patriot36 like being destroyed IN a blender full blast, go see some vids : Will it Blend

  • @Patriot36 Thats just funny

  • Very good video

  • .00000001 fps?

  • Where was this video shot? The park looks familiar..

  • @dcallstar51 Arizona

  • you said hi to a ghost!

  • Were can i buy the light that had the paracord on it

  • Awesome! Love your vid. You have some pretty nice lights!

  • @Esperantisto84 Thanks for dropping by bud! I appreciate the comments & support!

  • Good job! Polarion is my dream light bro! You did better on location then I did, Never try and test a handheld HID lamp on the US Parkway during deer season. After a car search and three officers there they told me to please pick a better place to test my lights and let me go! Lol...

  • man! if you stick a few of those lights in the ground, you can create your own 9/11 light tribute lol

  • Comment removed

  • damn lol and i thought my new solarforce 1200lumen flashlight was very bright ima buy the olight sr 90 now i dont wanna spend about 2000 for the polarion

  • Nice Slideshow !!!

  • recorded with a toaster.. no. this was with toast itself. ofcihadtobitch

  • If i had a dollar for every frame in the video i would have had a dollar

  • 2 frames per second ¬¬

  • Wunderbar ! thank you from Germany !

  • My friend was using an exaggeration phosphorus

    He called economic without batteries

  • The o-light should come with a strap no? considering the price of the Polarion HD-50 $2200? the o-light is incredible, I've just ordered one today, which will look good with my Artic spider 3 green laser, time to go for a night time forest walk lol

  • Great comparison patriot36!!

I just received the SR90 and are amazed by the amount of light coming out of this thing.

Can't wait till the RRT-3 arrives that I ordered yesterday!!

    Nice polarion!!

How long does it run on the batteries??

  • Not really a fair video sinds it's shot very strange and oversatured.

What's up with the frames ?

    anyway's nice video..

Check out mine wich has the PH40- and comparrison to the olight SR 90 if you like :)

  • @Neophyte101 He explained it.

  • Outstanding job Patriot. Amazing lights.

  • @srtbrazil Thank you sir! Glad you enjoyed!

  • Thanks Man,

That was super entertaining. I was on the ground laughing. ... and we still have the PH50 to go!! You have nerves of steel. I lit up a pissy x21 in a field once and within 2 seconds I heard police sirens and turned the light off, jumped back in my car, turned my headlights off, and booted it. LOL thanks for the laughs.

  • @raynaldduluth LOL!!!!! Great story bud! Thanks for sharing that. Glad you enjoyed this video too.

  • I will def.

    Thanks alot

  • your going to flag down an alien one day with those crazy freakin lights and were all going to blame you patriot lol j/k awesome vids

  • @penuth haha! If I ever saw anything suspicious in the night sky, I probably would light it up as long as it clearly wasn't a terrestrial aircraft...lol.

  • @Patriot36

can you melt someone's eyeballs with that light? That would be cool cause then you don't need a gun to protect yourself

  • For sure man def.

U got a hell of a light collection..

I have like 11 tactical flashlight..

    But nothing like urs haha

Bout the bright one I have is the jetbeam bc40

I would kill to have an SR model from olight

  • @04mach1speed Thanks bud! If you ever get the chance to pick one up for a good price, go for it! They're pretty impressive.

  • Hahahah

That ph50 is so powerful ur slow shutter light amp mode is basically not working it tricks the camera into thinking it's day lol

    Great vid

  • @04mach1speed Yeah, I saw the shutter stop down at certain times...lol. Thanks for watchin' man!

  • I prefer my Artic Spyder 3 laser lol now that shits a weapon, would love a Polarion though

  • Cool vid patriot, those people not far from you must have been WTF. Quite a collection only into LED lights but cant deny that ph50. hopefully Olight will have CSM-360 Series 6klum as a one up on Hid ;) im happy with my SR90 anyway.

  • Patriot36, did you pay full price for all of the flashlights you're showing? That is some collection. Where did you go to get the Polarion Night Reaper? Any chance you can either post or send me a list of each flashlight and where you got it? My screen name is my addy.

  • @falcon747474 I don't pay "full price" for any of my lights but can't go into the specifics of each purchase due to personal time constraints. Best to research them via Google. The NR may not be available again until the Gen2 is officially introduced. Most of the Gen1 NR's went to Marine Corps contracts with a few left over for civilian sales. They haven't manufactured any Gen1 since plans for the Gen2 started. I'm guessing the Gen2's should be out within a year and cost a bit under 4K.

  • Thanks, quality, A class

  • sick

  • if your ever REALLY bored, Try attaching a camera facing down to a balloon tied to a string. Then you can see the throw of light over a field

  • @paintballgundown8 I fear it would take a lot of balloons to send aloft my camera...haha. Actually, I could simulate a similar scenario by shining it along side a cliff face.

  • i got fired from my security job for using the olight sr-90 cause it was too bright and i blinded an old lady

  • WOW Very impressive

  • Just too funny, hope you had your sunscreen on : )

  • @Demus75 LOL!! Yes, very important when operating these....haha.

  • I've been looking for a good reading light. Thanks Patriot : )

  • @CampfireTalk Haha! I'm thinking it would probably still be sufficient for reading at 600 yards! :)

  • Any idea how the Abyss compares to the PH50? Any idea where I can get a PH50 used or demo model, or even new? In person, does the SR90's low price make it really the poor mans PH50? What's the difference between the SR90 and SR91? Thanks.

  • Oh, ok. Thanks for the advise. Greatly appreciated. So in the X21 price range, what do you recommend as a simple outdoor adventure torch? One which has good focus and the least amount of spill. The Polarion is definitely too much, especially when price is concerned.

  • @jysquare2 In LED, either an SR90 or SR91. The new Olight Triple XML will be out sometime at the end of summer but it wont be a thrower. For HID, the N30 and L35 are both outstanding, so is the MOZO hid available on ebay.

  • Awesome video. Do you have the Led Lenser X21 in your collection? I know that it may not be able to match up with the torches you just tested, but I would just want to see it's focusing feature in action. I think the Led Lenser X21 is only equipped with 1000 lumens. Compare it with your torches like the SR-90 and let's see how it matches up. I believe there are a lot of Led Lenser fans in the Flashlight world.

  • @jysquare2 Thanks buddy! The X21 is sort of a low tech light and not really in the same category as the SR90 and others. It's considered more of a flood light than a thrower. It's also pretty outdated now and drops off in performance quickly due to the nature of NiMh cells, low voltage, and unregulated circuitry. Many better choices today : )

  • lol loved the camera dim from the k3500 to the boxer lol alot of lumens there

  • @bentlikeitsmaker Right on! I'm glad it was helpful bud! Thanks for the PM.

  • That's an awesome light. I was expecting to see Batman.

  • Its a sad state of affairs when everyone is so worried about "offending" anyone- I mean what exactly are you doing thats so wrong?? I mean, if those were weapons mountable lights WITH a weapon attached, it would be a different story, obviously, but having to explain yourself?? C'mon!! I would think that, if the police were interested, it would be only to see where they could pick one up-LOL! Its amazing how close an SST90 is in performance to HID's.

  • @colinsdad1 So true what you say and sheepish humans are so predictable. In their defense, they didn't seem "offended" just curious. They see the park from the street and slow down to see what's going on..haha. Yeah, the SST-90 was kinda the first LED that could challenge 35W HID.

  • Wow! Absolutely awesome!

  • @AppalachianFreedom Thanks for stopping by my friend!!

  • Man, I just thought it was hilarious with the folks comin' to check the lights out. It's happened to me as well, got in a lengthy conversation about why I was there, what I was doing, etc. Warranted, sure, just funny. Actually, it was late at night and my friend's girlfriend was accosted by some rowdy guys, so I was keeping watch while the car was parked in case it occurred again.

I woulda liked one of these for overwatch, literally light them up LOL!

  • @DemonHide Thanks for the story DH! All of us "light guys" eventually experience people with light envy...lol

  • screw pepper spray! that's like having the sun in your hand

  • Thats amazing

  • @a2eric1 Thanks for checking it out Eric!

  • It's always funny to me when you turn on some bright hand held lights, because for some reason people "freak out". Like how a mosquito flys at a light bulb.

  • @FCDRIFTER lol, right. Who can ever fully explain human behavior?..haha

  • Best portable light review ever. whats the price range on these? pallpark.

  • @Gamble2185 Thanks man! The SR90 is around $425. The PH50 is much more...

  • best portal light review i've ever seen. Price range on these, ballpark?

  • @Patriot36 "" I was noting down all the time scenes where you are pointing the K3500, PH50 and SR90 at the horizon/trees, I noticed that the skyglow intensity is different. ""

To elaborate - What I really meant is, K3500 the skyglow intensity is say average. PH50, it is very dim. SR90, intensity is very bright - and the "shutter speed" is much slower than the time scenes during PH50/K3500 was shone around. Hope this is clearer. =)

  • @2100a Ah ok. Thanks for explaining. I see what you're talking about now. I'll hopefully be doing another review on a new Polarion HID in a couple of weeks so I'll be playing around with the camera a lot in order to figure out what the best representation will be. My record in both modes and put them back to back. Thanks for the ideas!

  • Haha...yep, testing these things is not "fun" sometimes. If the light is too tight + bright, people might even mistake this for shining a laser around, and over-zealous guys might even call the police (its a felony in the USA, but in my country nothing serious has happened.....but people do it during soccer matches!)

  • Amazing lights and great demo!

  • The Olight SR90 ROCKS!

  • I would get in a lot of trouble with those lights! hahaha, as always, keep up the great work! :)

  • @DarkKnight9A9A9 Thanks for stopping by DK!

  • Thanks for the video Patriot! You sure do have some badass lights. Come to DFW candlepowerforums meet and show those bad mugs off!

  • @rws0010 Haha! DFW CPF will have everything I have and more! :) Thanks for watching!

  • What do you think of the Led Lenser P7?

  • @vince38curious2 A decent light but obviously a completely different category.

  • @Patriot36 This may be silly but I know the lenser uses led bulbs What do the lights you are using here have for a bulb? Thanks

  • @vince38curious2 LED's aren't considered bulbs, just diodes. The SR90 uses a SST-90 LED, (Watching my video on the desktop review if you wish) the other 3 lights use HID bulbs.

  • @Patriot36 Thanks:D

  • man those are some serious lights....i was grinding my teeth when i spent 80 bucks on a surefire!!! I do appreciate your knowledge of them tho.. thanks for sharing once again

  • @lskw1 Yeah bro, it's amazing to see what the best equipment costs regardless of the category. I'll bet you still have that Surefire though! Sure appreciate you stopping by to check my vids! Later buddy.

  • @Patriot36 haha.. yea still got it and love it...

  • I suspect there is a 1-2 stop advantage for the SR90 (it looks brighter 2-4X)

  • @2100a brighter than which? It's actually about less than 1/2 the lumens of the the PH50.

  • As you can see between the microfire and polarion PH50 there is just a little difference in exposure. Generally the HIDs are about same level, the metering is good, its probably in Matrix metering (it meters the whole scene). But for the Olight SR90 LED, the center hotspot probably fools the Matrix metering.

You can check out the glow of the nightsky by the amber HPS. It is all different.

Also the Olight beamshot is very jerky, check out the cars movement. The HIDs are very smooth.

  • @2100a The video recording framerate is slow in this mode, that's why moving objects like cars and places appear to be jerky. The beams are smooth unless they're being panned back and forth at which point they're jerky as well. The luminus flux is stated for each light at the beginning of it's use. 1800, 2900, 2200, & 5200 lumens. The SR90 is the 3rd brightest but the 2nd best thrower right behind the PH50. This video shows the beam shape and offers relative comparison. Thank for watchin

  • Bro, nice work, i've just taken some static beamshots last night now I know its not that easy. Think a video would defintely be more work!

I work as an event / wedding photographer. It seems that you did not have the video camera's exposure locked down (ie you need to use manual). Hence the shots with the beamshots in them have different exposure. I'm not sure if you are able to do MANUAL with you cam though....

  • @2100a Yes, I'm able to do manual exposure in non-amplification mode but didn't feel like jacking with it. Beam shots are also done in manual exposure but with video the varying aperture is obvious as the background darkens. For example, when I aim the beam too close on the grass, the aperture closes down and the whole scene gets dark. When I raise the light back up the aperture returns to default rapidly, so I was satisfied that the viewer saw what was happening. Thx for sharing man.

  • @Patriot36

Yeah bro, I know when you point it down and at the horizon it automatically compensates. I was noting down all the time scenes where you are pointing the K3500, PH50 and SR90 at the horizon/trees, I noticed that the skyglow intensity is different. Thanks for the info, it does give one an insight into the lights' spill

    I have a XM-L, probably going for a Trusfire X6 (SST-90) for more throw. =)

For those interested, there's a French guy youtube vid comparing the PH50 and SR90.

  • Lucky you dont have 747's trying to land on ya lol

  • @F35Lighting2JSF LOL!!! Thanks man!

  • heheh. you must have pissed off several motorists.

  • @Urudrim One perhaps, the others where just like a pack of curious meerkats

  • Wow. That is some serious lights you got going there. I bet all those people where wondering what was going on.

  • @Cr0cket20 haha, yes I frequently get some pretty curious or baffled inquiries if I'm near a public place when I fire these things up. I think you and Lateboyscout would love to shoot a run and gun course of fire with these Crocket!!!

  • something strange walked through the picture at 4.53

  • @twaymarj guy on the bike

  • @twaymarj It was a dude jogging. You may have heard me talking to him...

  • Another well informed comparison there pal. Very very jealous. It does beg the question how much brighter can flashlights get ? Awesome technology.

    ATB

    Friz

  • @mrfriz42 If you spend some time around candlepowerforums in the spotlight section you'll see the upper limits. Almost all of it is homebuilt or civilian owned military short-arc lights. I specific area of light interest is anything that's "small" portable and incredibly high output in relation to it's physical size. I've owned the customs and homebuilts but also sell them since they don't serve a practical purpose for me. I like this group because they're all practical. Thanks 4 watching

  • Simple amazing performance!

  • @DocTacDad Anything piece of gear that's "high performance" is just plain cool, huh!

  • @Patriot36 You said it brother!

  • cool setting on the camera

  • @beast12101 Thanks beast. Something different I guess...
