Massive love and respect to the lads in al-amarah, i was there during the war but back in the uk during the insurgency. I found out the PWRR had a bad tour when on a weapons course at pirbright. The skill at arms Sgt was from the PWRR and at cimic. The book is great as well. Proper story of british army courage and resolve. Sad to be MD`d.
Guys you are the muts nuts, take my hat of to you all, dame fine job you did out there and are still doing in afgan, i joined the 3 PWRR 2 months ago and i know its going to take me some time before i become a full PWRR but i cannot wait, keep the good work up guys and my god look over you all,

Yep bleddy good regiment, im in army cadets right now and after im going to joing the snd platoon of the PWRR my brothers m8 is in it he went to iraq, i watched the cimic house on andy mcnabs tour of duty it was amazing wot people can do if they work hard and stay focust // Pround to be british Pround of Are counrtys army, The best in the world from when it became and till it ends.

Cracking book. Loved the bit about the barret 50 cal and the flip flops left on the roof top. Think what the lads could have done if the all had 50 cal's.
One of those "one more page" books. Not since Bravo Two Zero have I enjoyed a book like it. Its up there with "Marine Sniper" the Carlos Hathcock book. Top notch.
I just got finished reading Sniper One. As a fellow vet of Iraq on the American side, I gotta say this book took me back to that year. It was nice to finally see the British soldier side of the war. I couldn't put the book down.
one thing i didn't get is why does "Buzz" (and no doubt all his pals) dress like someone in the SBS / SAS? does he have a name badge with his unit on it as well?
well done y company! have read the book and think you done a shit hot job out there! should of jus blown the shit out of the OMS building!!! that would of provided the biggest part of your peacekeeping tour! good job tho lads especailly old sgt dan mills.
trigger men is a book about irish terrorists written by Martin Dillon who is himself from Norden Irelind; so point 1 is it's not an "American sniper book"
point 2 is Dillon is a journalist, no doubt a good one and a brave man; but how can you possibly compare a first hand account written by a soldier on the front line with a piece of journalism based upon interviews?
"Sniper One" records the actual experience of the author, it's not meant to win the booker prize
Sniper One did excellently at what it set out to do: tell the story with no BS. I'd personally prefer to read something that I knew was Gen, than reading about the blood spatter patterns that Abdul's brains made on his neighbours wall. Sniper One (and 3 Para) were popular with all my mates for the exact reason that both were "as it was" accounts with no shit attached. We'll leave the gratuitous descriptions of violence for wannabe civvies that those authors are targeting.
I found the book in a store near me,and the simple fact that it tells a true story of real people made me buy it.I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants both an insight on war and a tremendously powerful and action-filled page-turner! KUDOS to the British soldiers, from a Romanian boy....thank you for your heroism.....Eternally respectful,Alex!
yeh mate couldnt agree more, its an amazin book nd i thoguht i knew quite a bit about our boys in iraq nd reading that book showed me that i knew pretty much nothin of what was goin on out there

I loved the book. If I ever join the millitary, I'm going to be a sniper. Hooray for Dan! I thought that the videos were supposed to be put to some Heay metal or Thrash, though?
Great work lads, great book and great clip. Good to see someone finally take their gloves off against the OSM. Sorry for your losses. Ulitmate respect PWRR.
