Is this from an exam, or a regular class?

OMG I recognize every single one of these songs that they dance to because I dance to them in my dance class too! (Except they play them faster at my studio.)haaha. I'm also 13 which is probably roughly the age these girls are. And I have teachers who trained at the Bolshoi academy.

This is the most UNgifted class at the Vaganova Ballet Academy ever!

Unfortunately, ms. Gortchakova posted herself here, and couldn't say anything else about the Academy in general as she was expelled!

Seriously, ALL girls classes at the Vaganova have great turn out, extentsions, feet! But not in this class! No wonder that NOBODY from this class became a soloist/principal anywhere! And most of this girls were expelled out from the Vaganova right after this year and later on !!!

2..in 3/4 rhythm (beginns 01.40) =?

3. in 2/4 rhythm (beginns 3.33) =?

4. in 3/4 rhythm (beginns 4.29) =?

5. in 3/4 rhythm (beginns 05.40) =?

6. in 2/4 rhythm (beginns 006.45) =?

7. in 2/4 rhythm (beginns 09.06) =?

1:40 = sissone ouvert and ferme

3:33 = sautes beaten/turning and ballone

4:29 = large jetes and glissades

5:40 = temps lie

6:45 = entrechat quarte and trois

9:06 = combination en menage with pique fondu

Im teaching in Japan. We do not have good school for how to teach ballet class.

Im studying from book 100lessons in classical ballet. But I was not sure what musical temps are.

Your video makes sure me to many sings. Thank you very much! One of my students is on the ballet school in Russia now. It is entirely to you.

Maybe for video purposes, the teacher selected the older, more technical dancers to demonstrate. Or like RCreate123 said, that's just the way they do it.

why are these girls so old? im 13 and im in level 7 ballett. Not to be mean im just curious

At the Vaganova Academy, Level 1 is for 11 year olds, Level 2 for 12 year olds, Level 3 for 13 year olds, etc. through Level 9. You likely do not study Vaganova, but a different syllabus with different levels.

the slowness is for strength building. If you watch carefully you will see their knees are still elastic. Anyone who sees the Kirov or Bolshoi corps girls jump won't dare criticize the way they were trained.

Too bad, you couldn't see other girls, exactly the same year (we call it in Russia "Parallel Class") Among them: Svetlana Zakharova (Ballet Star), Veronika Part (ABT Principal), Daria Pavlenko (Kirov-Mariinsky Principal) !!!

They are very good and controlled, and in this grade the jumps are slowed down. But, if they kept in motion in the plies they could achieve more height in the jumps. I have the impression that they are trying to maintain poses rather than move into the air. It is easier to maintain the poses if the motion is as great as possible.
