  • That's Bernie's Tune alright sans the melody. They end it like Gerry always did with the Major Picardy 3rd on the last note.

  • Genius!

  • Seen this group back in 1959 at a J.A.T.P. concert in Berlin.I wish there was a CD of it.

  • A great piece from the album "What is there to say" is Blueport.

  • I love.this.

  • great! i wish this particular quartet had done more recording. their one album ("what is there to say?") is wonderful.

  • @jazzmonster123 Gerry Mulligan and thi same band did the Soundtrack & were in the movie "I Want To Live". Very intense movie & a excellent soundtrack!

  • God how I miss the days when people were allowed to smoke on television!

  • Bernie's Tune!!!

  • Sorry, coppens, Bernie's Tune has different chord changes.

  • yusuke1200mk4 posted (part of) this same vid as "Bernie's Tune". I saw Henry Grimes here in Amsterdam with Sonny Rollins in 1963. One of my all time favorite bass players! He had an identical twin brother who played tenor sax, Leon Grimes!

  • OK, now I understand. I heard Rollins in Amsterdam a few years ago, but he had Bob Cranshaw on bass. Didn't know about Leon Grimes, though! Thanks.

  • @BuckshotLaFunke still near enuff, the bridge going to the flat six as new key.

  • Hnery Grimes is very good, but I also like the original band bassist, Bill Crow.

  • beautiful playing all round...sweet as a nut

  • very very nice!

  • That was super cool

  • henry grimes great bass player

  • I'm not sure, but I think the title is "Night Walk".
