  • If the blue angles don't make you proud to be american then you're just a walking dead person

  • Someone please reply!-

Do you have to go to the naval academy or is it just or a better route to take?

  • red arrows kick ass ;P

  • @MyUnicornprincess Air demonstration teams kick ass REGARDLESS of who they are. Saw the Thunderbirds and the Snowbirds last summer and that was a blast and a half.

  • Loof for Blue angel awesome takeoff, good water plume when he goes vertical.

  • @ArtemesUSN.

How on earth am i supposed to start an argument with someone that knows exactly what they are talking about and one that i totally agree with!!!! LOL.

  • @oddflyer Sorry took so long to respond. Heh ya I love the Blues but for a show my fav is the Reds. I wish the Reds would get better stable a/c, then they would have tighter formations but then they would have to give up some of the aerobatic moves so guess it woldnt be better :). Want a good BA takeoff there is one video that showqs him goin around 10' off the water then goin straight vertical, wonderful video cant remember where tho, ill see if I can find it.

  • That's skerries for ya

  • Even a Blue Angels pilot was filmed saying "the Blue Angels are more about loud noise and speed , as the British RAF , Red Arrows are more about techincal flying skill and aerobatics".

But the Blue Angels definately have better looking aircraft for sure.

  • @oddflyer You are comparing apples to oranges. They are not more skilled or technical. Its the type aircraft they fly. F-18s the Blues use are combat aircraft, not designed for highly aerobatic moves. While the Reds def have a better aerobatic airshow and display awesome flying skills, the blues do the same but in a different fashion. The blues use less a/c and fly a much tighter pattern. Flying 1.5' apart while the reds usually fly at 6' apart. Blues are a flight demo team not aerobatic team.

  • @ArtemesUSN I never looked at it that way thanks

May I ask, are the graduates in this video graduating naval pilots ?

  • @SuperMageo Yes they are, all Blue Angel pilots are reg Navy pilots. They do train for about a year when they join the bluew before they take over one of the spots. When they complete the BA tour they go back to the fleet etc.

  • @ArtemesUSN Ok, but I was wondering about the people they were flying over, those down on the ground, are they getting their wings ?

  • @SuperMageo My bad, none are gettin wings at this graduation. These are Nav Cad grads. They will be sent out to follow up schools. Aero, SWO etc SWO meaning Surface Warfare Officers. They just completed college basically but with requirements that would make reg college students cry foul :). Some will go on to OCS or AOCS, SWOs coem from the OCS, pilots come from the AOCS. Not sure on others like JAG, Medical or religious Officers.

  • @ArtemesUSN Ok, cool that you know so much stuff about this, I learnt allot! :)

  • @ArtemesUSN

Naval Academy Graduation 2008...not Naval Aviation Cadet (NAVCAD) graduation. NAVCAD program no longer in existence, and when it did exist they didn't graduate from Annapolis. They are all getting commissioned as Ensigns or Marine Corps 2ndLts. Besides going to flight school to be pilots or naval flight officers, or to be SWOs, many others will go on to various military occupational specialties (MOS) in the Navy and Marine Corps.

  • They got nothing on the British "Red Arrows".

    Oh except better aircraft.

  • @oddflyer Great, more arguing.

  • that was beautiful *tear :,)

  • does anyone know when the original blues angels graduated?

  • That is so Rad

  • showoff

  • '

american F-18 jetfighters are so pretty plane

  • thats it, millions of dollars to get those in the air and thats all they do i mean really who the fuck thought that up. they could have at the very least did something fly a bomb bust pattern or some shit like that. who knows. oh well its only taxes right.

hey i have an idea at the airforce graduation maby they could have a space shuttle fly over, you know the one that flys all the military payloads.

enyjoy it why you can. thats what i always say.

  • datzfast,

    ;-)

  • lol! At the very end, u can hear "DO IT AGAIN!!!"

  • If you ever get a chance to see the Blue Angels, do so. We were there for 2003, 2006 and 2007. Hopefully, we'll be there for 2013 for another family member.

They even came to Hawai'i last year for an air show. They were practicing over Kailua and Kaneohe on Oahu. The kids at our school went ballistic! They loved it!

  • is it tough

  • very much so

  • Oh the announcer must be such a noob... "Two-thousand AND eight!"

It's been eight years now, ya think people would get it correct, please. "Two-thousand-eight."

    You didn't say "Nineteen-hundred AND ninety-nine?"

One hundred years ago it was even classier, "Nineteen- aught-eight."

  • i kno ur right i was there too!

  • me 2

  • I wasnt.

But I will be in two-thousand and thirteen!

    whoops!

    I mean two-thousand-thirteen! HAHA
