Great pageant Show it does broaden up the fact these spanish speaking girls comes in many shades - years ago i used to assume all mexicans & puertoricans were just the same in culture and music to my surprise they're just as socioculturally divided as we are.

But as a born and raised Puerto Rican in the island, I can assure you, in 1493 when Columbus came with Europeans to conquer Taíno Indians, they did NOT come with African Americans, but rather with AFRICANS. African Americans came as Latin did, with many years of procreation. Therefore: European + Taíno + AFRICAN = Puerto Rican

@fancydreaming not at all... theres a little bit of everything here in PR. We are a mix between Taino Indians, Africans (not African Americans) and Spaniards ( which are white but Europeans, not Caucasians). For example, i'm Puertorrican and i'm white as $hi!t!! And my BF too but another friend of mine is a little bit more tanned. It's just about genes here in Puerto Rico, not about nationality.
