@altjff15 Totally wrong on that one. I've seen him play this song live a few times and he looks just the same, totally relaxed, like he doesn't give a fuck. Badass player.
95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thunb this up, then copy and paste it to t least 5 video's. DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK AND ROLL DIE
Surely you've put some kind of effect or 'spell' on this video. It shudders and shudders thru out. I've never seen any video wobble like that w/out the music getting all jerky too.
The first receiver /(well good receiver) I had had a mono/stereo button... the music being all in the left side reminded me that....
There's something odd about the sound in this video - could it be that it only plays the Left channel?
Anyway, the funny thing is that I feel that this makes the song better! the sound is "warmer", and maybe it tones down the lead guitar just a bit, thus making things a little less cumbersome. Sounds great.

Taken by Force is their masterpiece, anything after that was a steady decline. They became too commercial for my liking and the atypical arena rock band. This was when they were raw, untamed, fresh, dynamic, hungry.
this song is the reason no other guitar player could touch uil roth back then, the guitar work in this song was way ahead of its time, and stands up well even today.................
this is really good but i prefer testaments version because its my genre but they wouldnt have done it if they didnt create it so for that i am grateful :D
my band practices in the same rehearsal space Uli's solo band used to rehearse! he signed the wall, but i feel bad because right next to his signature is a cum stain and its my cum
not many people realize that he wrote this when he was around 14-16 years young. you dont even hear this in these days. imagine hearing this in 1959. this was before the whammy! Uli completely changed the way of the guitar. great guitarist. may he live for many years to come
You got your facts wrong dude. This song was on the album Taken By Force. Released in 1977. And Uli was in his mid 20's by then. Also, the whammy had been around for years prior to this. The bass player Francis was an engineer as well and made that big bastard whammy for him. A better picture of it is on the front cover of the album In Trance.
Also, since he was a huge fan of Jimi...he might of gone as far as "flipping" his strat pickups up side down? reversing them? back then, in the 70's, there were not really alot of choices for swapping pick ups arround. But I think most of the tone is simply, in his hands!
Flectz doesn't realize that in most Music Videos of guitar solos, the solos have to be spot on accurate or else they won't match up with the song, and look like bad editing. Nice Try though.
P.S. One of the related videos shows Uli in 2006 playing it live just as cooly and calmly as here.
are you dumb? band members are acting in music videos. theyre not playing at all. theres music playing in the background for them to act like they're playing the part the song is on. you must be autistic.
Fuckin A"People always talk about the obvious 5 guitarists and yet Scorpions started in 65' and around 68 started cutting a first album and were overlooked in the blues based U.S. too long if you asked me because Uli Roth is so freakin awesome nobody incorporated into rock music what was at that time and not for quite awhile after either.
The fact that Widdly Widdly Malmsteen mentions Uli as an influence is no great compliment he also cites Ritchie Blackmore as an influence as well but in all honesty i dont think Widdly should be mentioned in the same breath as either Roth or Blackmore!! Yngwies playing is technically brilliant but completely tasteless IMHO
Your opinion, exactly, but Yngwie didn't just became famous for his technical solos. Listen to his solos in Alcatraz (the album) or his first solo debut, maybe it will change your opinion a little.
Like Satirani, John MacLaughlin, Vai, major music universities, many musicians and millions of people feel that you're wrong in your opinion, but to each his own. But I do recognize that after the years he hasn't change and has become repetitive and predictable, which is a shame.
I have heard the albums you mention Testacojones and they leave me cold Yngwie for me took his stage persona from Blackmore even down to the same clothes and guitar and also took his neo classical influences from Blackers and Roth but sadly he unfortunately has no taste whatsoever in his playing style Malmsteen,Vai and Satch really need speedometers on stage so they can challenge each other to notes per second competitions guitar playing for them is almost like a sport rather than an art!
It's all good, we all have like and dislikes. I play guitar either way because to me speed was natural, but if there's no point or melody I wont play it. I'll move own because I don't want to hijack this thread anymore than I already have.
@lightintheblack I have to agree with you. I think Malmsteen is boring. He has an insane ability and plays masterfully. But his music has no surprises anymore.

A year later in 1978 they released the hellish live album "Tokyo Tapes". This bad was that good and even better live.
That album will stand the test of time for 70's metal.
