  • none of the chops that this guy is playing are difficult. but he is one awesome drummer. i'll give him that.

  • Hi dude can i just say Love your drumming in fact im gona sit tommrow and try and learn that stuff :D heheh

just watching your right foot, when you hit the kick you keep the beater on the drum, i was always told that you should try and take it straight off in the same way you would with a stick hitting the snare as it can damage the sound a little,

still love the video though :D

  • @Trivium661 Hey man! Cheers for the response! Yeah I think it depends what kind of sound your looking for.

You can achieve a fatter, deader sound by leaving the beater in the head, or you can get a more open, resonant sound by bringing the beater off the head. There's a million different sounds you can achieve from one drum!

  • what head is that?!

  • @boybawang9997, looks like an Aquarian head.

  • the tiny drumsets unite!

  • now that grooved ! nice!

  • The recording gives me an idea of what it would probably sound like in person, I really like the bass drum! You said in one of your previous responses that it was 10" 14" and 18" is there a 10" tom too?

  • Nice grooves man. Keep it up.

  • Aweesome dude, Sounds like some pariddle influence from Seve Gadd. You got it bro.

  • this is the way it's done

    small kit, single kick pedal

    simple is best

  • good playing on your way for sure!! i love that. kick what size i use a 20 x18 sick kick cracker jack

  • Its final, I'm cutting down my kit size in hope I can become better

  • That's not exactly how it works xD

  • Lol I know, but ever since i got a double bass pedal I neglected just groovy beats and focusing on the rythm. Bad on my part :(

  • I know my double bass just has broke recently and I forgot how much I like playing just this kind of stuff

  • @IWANTHOTDOG

No worries man. Play some groovy doublebass stuff. Like bands such as Periphery, Animals As Leaders, Meshuggah etc.

Here's an example: /watch?v=Hzu6l5py6kI (Navene Koperweis, the drummer of Animals As Leaders)

@ Funkydrumbum: Great stuff on this video. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • sleep now in the fire by rage against the machine was made with just a hi-hat, a bass drum and a snare

  • and a crash..? :P

  • @pespo yeh lol

  • @paramoreistheshiz yeah and a crash cymbal

    great song btw

  • what the hell is that lick at :45 ??

  • doubles between kick and hi-hat i think

  • No, it's simply sixteenth note triplet paradiddle-diddles with the two and four played on the snare. Make sense? Real easy to do and sounds great.

  • You're close, but wouldn't you hear the hihat hit right on counts 1 and 3? He only plays bass drum on those notes, and the 2 hihat notes come in immediately after. He's doing 32nd notes, repeating K-L-L-R-R-L-L-K then R-L-L-R-R-L-L-K.

  • @docterblack It kinda sounds like a Steve Gadd-ish groove from some of his early days when he was rockin' the fro and beard!

  • @docterblack ... the classic Steve Gadd lick .... FLLRRLLF RLLRRLLF .... in the video this guy plays them as 32nds ...but you can play them as 16ths as well ... depending on the tempo

  • @docterblack

    parra diddle diddlessssss.......

  • Cool. Good snare sound too. What are you playing?

  • niceee =D

  • you play like me...same style...crazy thing!!

  • some epicly good beats there ^^

  • kick ass!

  • Got to say I am impressed man... Your a good drummer when you can make a very small amount sound a huge amount!

  • nice groove lik the style

  • is that ur floor tom that you converted into a bass drum

  • pretty kewl

  • u good man keep up!!

  • capo"!!!

  • INSANE. I love the look of that kit, I might start using less of mine. It might force me to play better.

  • wuld that be a 3 piece or a 2?

  • 2 cymbals don't count

  • 2. when people refer to a 4, 5,6 and so on piece set it refers to the number of drums. cymbals dont count

  • SOME ONE TELL ME WHAT HE DOES AT 27secs lool

  • its a steve gadd groove, not as hard as it sounds heh

  • go on........lool

is there a link with gadd doing it?

  • same thing he does at 46 seconds :)

  • its 2 hits on bass, 2 on snare, 2 on hats, 2 on snare, 2 on bass, two on hats, so on and so forth.

  • LOL what?

  • i prefer kits and single pedals to huge things that lots of modern drummers have

  • those things dont come cheap.

  • Feelin Bro!! Good Stuff !!

  • sick

  • its a god given gift...one day u`ll be a fam

    awesome feel

  • this is what you can do even with the smallest drum set when you 're good ;-)

  • siick

  • great technique

  • great :)

  • Looks fun :P great drumming

  • pretty cool

  • very nice...saw some gadd in there

  • any chance of a breakdown of the groove you play from 45-49?

    awesome beats!

  • i believe that's a paradiddle groove. not that hard

  • i realised shortly after i posted that comment

  • look up steve gad linear 32nd notes.. he's playing them exactly

  • got skill

  • Comment removed

  • thats not creepy at all

  • i love you

  • nice work man

  • sick licks dude

  • is tht a manu katche hip gig?

  • Where Did you get that kit from?, its cool.

  • Looks like the Manu Katche Signature Jr.

  • You are so good!

  • u rock!

  • NICE beats man

  • i want that kit!

  • That was some amazing drumming man!

  • hey man nice work and very nice groove in this times where the speed is the maximum thing in drumming its good to see guys like u respecting the groove,,,,, keep on

  • Awesome! Great grooves!

  • Cool stuff man. Check out my small kit videos.

  • It takes real skill to make 2 drums and a hi-hat sound interesting. I have a 3 drum kit and the drummers who used it think its great. Lot to be said for the 'less is more approach'.

  • Hey thats a cool vid response. I Like the cowbell stuff. Im really into just laying down grooves, i've never been able to do the whole 4 bass drum 16 tom stuff I'll putting up some more vids soon so keep an eye out. Cheers!

  • @TenorClef not really u just gotta klnow how to keep a good beat.

  • @TenorClef Really think so? I find grooves like this a piece of cake compared to massive fills :L

  • man, I love ur kit, those 18 bass drums sound tight! besides that... you got a K hi-hat which are amazing! gratz buddy!

  • not 2 noc those 6-2-8 drum kit /w many cyms, which i hav 2 deal with evr'y wk n churh, i a basspyr & drm'r prefer U'r kit with exception of ad'n a sm fl.tom & a 13'crash/ride..i luv it! U my friend set an xsam'l. tank U fer vid!

  • Nice!!

Did you custom make that bass drum from a floor tom? I've done that and I love it. Take a 5 piece and convert it to a micro 4 piece..it's great!! :)

  • Thanks for comment. The kit is a manu katche kit with the sizes 10'' 14'' and an 18'' bass drum, so no i didnt make the bass drum out of a floor. The recording makes the kit sound a bit naff but in the room its awsome. cheers

  • wow thats really nice dude:P
