Italian music (chords, melody) were used in many other styles in the early 80's a lot of music was produced by italian producers and studiomusicians, high fashion is an example.
nowadays a lot of ballads (also r&b) are based on a mixture of jazz/itallo pop chord progressions, in the early years there were singers like frank sinatra, dean martin, elvis etc that also used italian songs.
One of my all time Favs from back in the Quality days of Music...Play it all the time on my I-Phone along with many other Superb tunes....Thanks so much for posting.....
I had the chance to meet Alyson Williams back in 89 when she sang vocals for Orange JJ on his gigs. She saw me standing there in the small audience with my HF copies in hand, brought me on stage and we sang feelin' lucky together!Of course I got all my vinyls signed by here including very personal comments! She was awasome and we chated all night about High Fashion,Melisa Morgan,Eric McClinton,Kashif,.also about Curtis Hairstone(RIP) and when she recorded please dont break my hart / The Affairs..
Wow, this brings back memories, and energy! What a beautifull example of how good it was in those days..this really swings!! In the best tradition of BB&Q, Mac Band, EW&F...relive!
YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!!....I miss this type of sound....makes you want to go out and wash yo' car and then drive with the park lights on when the sun is just going down and the ride is smellin' good inside:)
the italian r&b producers in the early 80s, was very much underrated, but silent and deadly in my opinion.....am now learning that many of those hot r&b tracks was produced by italians.....!!!!!
YES THEY HAD A GREAT RUN IN THE 80s....CHANGE/ JIMMY ROSS/ BB&Q BAND/LOOSE ENDS/ and OF CAUSE HIGH FASHION... HAVE ALL HAD A TASTE OF ITALIAN PRODUCERS....!!!!!!
@KnicksBasketballNY NO! AM NOT ITALIAN ! IN FACT AM BLACK IF YOU CARE TO KNOW... AM JUST SOMEONE WHO HAS LOVED, AND FOLLOWED, GOOD MUSIC OVER THE YEARS......!!!!!!!

Sophisticated funk at its very best, High Fashion, B.B.Q Band, Change. What happened to the days when music was funky, and positive the same time?
