YES! That man is talking about LiFePO4 batteries. Lithium Iron Phosphate. They are under "heavy duty" testing in the ebike community right now. So far so good. Most people get thousands of cycles with these batteries. I believe someone actually hit 30 k miles with them.
120 miles distance on a single charge? what happens if you tow a small generator and charge the RAV4 while it's going down the road? a generator to charge batteries is far more efficient than powering a car with an internal combustion engine
Chevron bought the patent on the NIMH battery, the battery that Toyota used in the Rav EV that got /gets 100 miles per charge and lasts over 100,000 miles at a far cheaper price then lithium ion batteries. As far as I know Chevron strictly limits the sale of this battery.
The problem is that no self-respecting (greedy) investor (who's only interest is money at any cost) is going to put money into a product that once sold gives no more return (I.E. EV's with batteries, and solar panels) not when they can invest in, and promote an auto that requires a fuel (I.E. gas, hydrogen, ethanol,). A fuel that the car owner has no choice but to buy from them, increasing their profits significantly.
Thanks for this post Doug. Glad to hear you speaking out about Chevron's grab of the NiMH patent. I refer people to Tomn Knipe's (Southern Cal Edison) white paper from Arpil, 2003, wherein he documents the service SCE is getting with their fleet of over 300 RAV4 EVs. They are consistently running over 150,000 miles on the NiMH batteries with no noticable degradation. The PERFECT BATTERY EXISTS but nobody in our government wants to tackle the Chevron NiMH monopoly. Thanks again.
Sooo much better with a quiet grease-free machine. Getting a little sick of people who romanticize a noisy vibrating combustion engine and insist on them -even with alternative fuels. I thought we were past all that. I'm glad you're posting this with confidence and accurate data to back it up, against the sceptics and player-haters.

Hey Doug! It's great to see you posting again. thank you so much for your video contributions. I've shown them to friends and family that believe that electric cars are a fantasy. You have proved them wrong time and again. I wish that their were more vocal EV users out there that would step forward and help turn this thinking around.
man it suck it 5dollar in florida now

LiFePo4 Batteries costing $30,000? Not today they don't!
They also outlast and outpower MinH.
Check the specs which are used to full charge/discharge rates. to 80 Dod! The new ones can outlive you if you fit no BMS. (Ironically).

there is something I don't get, I learned that you cannot keep a patent when you don't use. So chevron would have to lose the patent.

I LOOOVE how the guy asks "is that an EV"!
It makes me smile EVERY TIME

I can't believe that the batteries are illegal to buy ! Can't someone reinvent them or something ? All the companies steal ideas from each other.

What kind of generator? It would take energy from the RAV4 to move the generator to generate power for rhe RAV4 so there would be no gain.

Well put the generator inside of the RAV4! :)

Did he say Chevron the oil company bought the patents for electric car technology?
