izakokommarixyz -i think u r wrong my friend-havent u seen the vids showing leopards killing hyenas on youtube -ive never seen a hyena or even a clan kill a leopard-obviously leopards can kill hyenas no problem-even though the hyenas are generally heavier-but as hyenas are almost always in clans the leopard has to be careful not to find itself outnumbered and anyway they are tough critters and not easy to kill -so leopards avoid them -but will kill to defend a baby or if provoked enough

Leopards are very agile and can use their paw

to swipe and that's a big advantage and like

most Big Cats Leopards also goes for the neck/throat to kill.

You dont understand, a Leopard is a solitary Predator. So 1 v 1 Hyena is going to be a threat not worth facing. Leopard needs all of his tools to hunt, IE any injury is realy going to impact his game. The Hyena only needs 1 good bite to cripple the Leopard to a point where it can not hunt, thus it dies due to not being able to hunt & eat. Hyena is a much more hardy animal.

A hyena has upper body strength to rival a leopard. Hyenas have the strongest jaws in the land mammal kingdom. Fact is that single hyenas will steal kills from leopards and leopards can't do anything about it. A fight to the death will be good, but a good bite from a hyena will break the leopards bones.

It might be true, however, I also have some accounts/incidents where a single hyena drove into a leopard's kill, fought for the kill, and the leopard ran away. Now, this was a single hyena, not a group. Another was a female hyena stealing a kill from an male and female leopard.

yea it's true sometime a hyena takes leopard's kill and a leopard has nothing to do anything with it. Hyenas re probably more fearless than leopards,however,understand if a leopard's forcing to fight, a hyena has no change to win cuz big cats like leopard re too tough to beat.

I say the same thing what streetbasketball3 says. leopards are very strong. they take their kills up trees and capable of carrying animals up to three times weight their own this way. hyenas live in pack and most of time they often steal other animals' kills. they also eat dead, weak or even younger animals.

Mohasad, your knowledge on hyenas is very limited, IMO. A hyena is capable of killing a zebra on it's own. A hyena's upper body strength (neck, chest, shoulders etc) rivals the leopard! A hyena has the strongest jaw power amongst land mammals. A hyena has a heart 2 X's the size of a lion, giving it exceptional stamina. Also, lions scavenge of hyenas more than the other way around.

@Mohasad3 Hyenas are the most succesful hunters amongst African predators alongside Wild Dogs. Lions scavenge more then Hyenas. The only reason people ( who by the way are stupid fuckin sheep that will believe anything they are told ) believe that all Hyenas do is steal food is because they see that in Lion documentaries and obviously the pro Lion documentary isn't going to make the Lions look bad by showing the bad things they do. Also, Hyenas have a very thick neck, strong bones, muscular chest and incredible stamina. Also, a lion will kill a single leopard and hyena, so it doesn't matter about the lion. Lion is WAY to big for both hyena/leopard. Hyena is bigger than leopard though.
