  • Years and years ago I let the salon put a wave nouveau on top on my then RELAXED hair! Are u serious????? YES! it took years for my hair to recover and NO... no one at the salon tried to stop me! HATERS!!

  • This just happened to me the Sunday evening... i was going to deep condition and give myself a hot oil treatment since it was wash day. So I put my hair in twist and applied the oil and then the aloe conditioner. put on a plastic cap and since I dnt have a big dryer I used my hand held just to get a lil heat. Taking to long I decided to take a scarf and put in in the micro for just a few mins... needless to say I forgot n the thing started smoldering.. pics posted on Fb but, my hair came out fab

  • and rock my nice silky- ha!- twistout like i'd seen da 2b-3a sistas do. Can u say LOCS!!! My hair was locked up tighter than Alcatraz!!! Had to get hubby-who got that straight up 2a hair and wudn't know a nap if it waved to him from the dictionary by da way - to help me get dem thangs out! Pretty sho I lost bout two shree inches of length on that dar particular hair fail - gots to be mo careful!!!

  • @maximuslyricus Sorry to laugh but bwhahahahahaha

  • I know its late but chiiiiile chile chile chile chile - bout a year inta my natural hair journey, I decided do my 440 triple zee-heesy up in da house hair like dem 2b-3a naturals! Dats rite - twisted it up all pretty like and day after day hopped my happy tail in the shower to "moisturize" my twists. Slapped some oil on behind it like the 2b-3a- chicks and skipped along my merry way. Well girl - roun bout 2 weeks later I decided to take dem bad boys out

  • LOL

  • Idiot Hair Moment: Beginning of NH transition, decided to try castor oil. Made a castor oil concoction in the kitchen while leaving kitchen door open/screen locked. Didn't think about neighbors passing by lookin all in my kitchen. I got in the shower 2 rinse castor oil, forgot towel in kitchen, forgot door was open. Ran into the kitchen & bust my greasy ass on the floor naked & with neighbor passing by like wth just happen lol. Was too greasy to even push myself up. Had 2 crawl back 2 carpet.

  • @lndialnk LAFFIN OUT LOUD!

  • For my 14th bday 2 yrs ago, i wanted a natural look(I wasn't transitioning then) so I had my sister do a straw set for me and she agreed bc it was my bday. So she straw set it and picked it out, and let me tell u it was sooooo cute, but deadly. When it was time to wash my hair (I didn't comb it that whole week) my mom and sister had to help. We didn't detangle, my mom was screaming, I was crying, hair was falling out bc the pulling, it was awful.... I still shake, LOL

  • I had a few tracks glued in my hair for my cousins wedding. No problem, until I figured out that the hair dresser glued the track onto my HAIR incorrectly! Yup! Can you say clumps of hair in my hand followed by a haircut (that I end up loving).

  • I will NEVER try the avocado hair mask EVER again. Copying someone off of YouTube I went and bought a avocado (never even heard of it b4) cut it open it's yucky! Slimey argh, I should have stopped there but noooo "my hair is going 2b softer & more manageable" rt...I smashed it & mixed the oils now it's time 2 apply. The whole time I'm holding my breath & I'm thinking I shldve stuck w/ the perm! Now it's time 2 rinse & I kno my water bill was sky high-this gunk would not come out, I have class i

  • Ok so I work at a chemical plant which requires me to wear a hard hat. I ran out of my favorite conditioner so I ordered more. I decided that since I wear a hard hat, I can get away with not combing my hair out. I thought this was a good Idea since I had to wait for my order anyway. Well I figured I'll just wet it so I can pull it into a puff. Finally my conditioner came but my hair had already attempted to form dread locks without my permission! It took me 4 hours to comb it out and I suffered

  • I decided to try homemade flax seed gel last summer for my 1st wash n go attempt. It was so pretty & soft while it was wet, but when it dried I swore I had a helmet on my head. I went to put my shirt on & I swear I heard it tear from my hair. Never again...$&!+

  • a few days ago i was watching a youtube video where this lady was saying that her hair takes to products better in the shower. So i decided to try it i co-washed my hair first and as i was trying different products (that didnt work lol) my hair just kept getting dryer and dryer in the end i had spent hours in the shower and ended up having to wash my hair to get all the products out -smh-

  • Early last year , I was blow drying my hair , & I noticed that my hair was turning a blondeish color (my hair is dark brown) so i kept blow drying it anyway , then when I finished , a whole patch of my front hair came out , so i had to cut my hair into bangs , FAIL . BEWARE The blow dryer is the Devil.

  • I will definately make a response video to this I have a NH Fail Story!

  • I was 5 months transitioning and I did not know anything about detangling. I was relaxed since 2 so I didnt know what I was doing at all. I did not detangle my hair before I washed it. Second mistake was washing my hair all together instead of in sections. I had unbelieveable tangles and knots and detangling at that point was impossible. I thought that the deep conditioning would help thing out but that made it worse. In the end I lost alot of hair and ripped out a big chunk of hair out.

  • i definitely did the whole too, too hot, hot oil treatment and felt like a complete idiot lol! like really oil does not need that much heat to get hot duh! I mean really sometimes i need to use the common sense that God gave ME like I tell my son! smh @ myself

  • My hair was gelled up on the sides for my wedding. I didn't know you have to wash holding gel out of your hair to get it out. I had my husband brushing & then combing my hair trying to get my hair out of that style. He told me later that he hid huge clumps of hair that was coming out.

  • This was right before I went natural I had the Rhianna look... With the shaved sides... It's in my profile pick... Anywho I decided to take it upon myself and shape up my sides.... I had two receding hairlines on the sides... Top it off I had to go to barber where my ex just happened to be that day... Talk about they clowned me some bad!!!

  • This incident changed my hair density for life. I was 15 and I had a sort of mullet cut with an asymmetrical T-Boz ezque bob at the front. Anwyay I had just started perming my hair after 3 years of naturalness and decided that I wante to go faith evans red and I did it at home. Well I loved the color and wanted the hair to be bone straight for scool on the Monday so I went and got a perm. Needles to say that was the start of another 3 years natural after all the hair fell off my head in patches.

  • I was in college, my first time attempting to curl my own hair with a curling iron (on hot plate). My hair was very thick and MBL. After completing my entire head I decided to go back and do the sides, of course the whole time I was talking and listening to my roommates (not paying attention to how hot the curling iron was getting. I pulled out a section of hair to earlobe and put the iron just short of my scalp, needless to say, when I took away the iron it came with the entire curl.WHAT A FOOL

  • i was n hair school and i wanted a full sew in so bad i was just so tired of my natural and wanted something new so i had one of my classmates/friends hook me up and she did but the trouble came when it was time to take it out which a week later because i couldnt take it anymore. this being my first (and last) sew in i didnt quite know to remove it........anyhow long story short i broke out the scissors and cut a whole braid of my real hair. it was so bad that there was nothing i culd do to camo

  • My sister did a very nice bantu-knot out for me, so eventually i had to wash my hair. Unfortunately, i soooo did not detangle that curly mass of hair before I shampooed and conditioned it. I had so many knots and tangles it looked like I was Medusa! And I had this one huge knot that was impossible to detangle and therefore had to be cut...lets just say after a lot of mayo, oil, and chops from the scissors, I learned my lesson and i now detangle my hair before I do ANYTHING!

  • I was so impressed when I made my 1st Flaxseed gel, that I used the whole mixture one time in my first was n go I just slapping it on my head loving how my coils were popping. When it finally dried the following day I had flaky slime trails all over my head and did not notice how it looked until I was home after I did the school run.

  • That was too funny

  • I had an idiot hair 3-month period. I decided I was going to go from permanently colored jet black hair to platinum. My dumb self thought it was an overnight job. First I used a box bleach kit, and turned my hair about 50 different colors. Then I decided to 40 vol bleach my hair for 2 hours. Still didn't get what I wanted. My foolish self repeated that 40 vol bleaching for 2 hours like 11 times in 3 months. Needless to say, I did not have much hair left by the end. And I still wasn't blond.

  • I tried to go natural once before, about 9 years ago. I had absolutely NO IDEA what I was doing. I had about one year of growth under my belt when I got the crazy idea to buy a pressing comb to straighten my hair. I used no leave in conditioner, no heat protectant, and neither detangled nor blowdried O_o ....burned a section almost clean off!!!! LOL That next week, I was back on the "creamy crack"..After educating myself, I went natural again and it's been 3 great (burn free) years!

  • I decided to play beautician and dye my own hair. I wanted a blondish color which was what the box showed. About an hour later I realized that I had some fo sho clown colored orange hair. The kids I worked with wouldn't let me live that one down lol!

  • I decided to do a honey treatment while transitioning...I used a whole bunch of honey and a tiny bit of water..I smothered that all over my hair and started to wash it out after 5 mins later. I couldn't even wash it out, the more I tried the more My hair matted.. I ended up doing the big chop that night..-__-

  • @zeegirl84 good to know I'm not alone lol

  • After taking down single braids, I washed my hair (I guess incorrectly) and it matted. I had to cut my hair to get the tangles out. The finished look was asymmetrical without trying. OMG, it was horrible.

  • girl I did a similar incident...lol u brought back some memories

  • 2) All my friend cld do was cut the hair out (including my own) as i cried. I had to go to the party no question and back then I didnt think about hats or scaves as an alternative so I turned up at this party with hair that coudn't catch into the bun was bone dry too so it shrank up and beaded up at the sides OHHH no! I am not able to forget that night

  • Basically I spent the best part of a day sitting on the floor as my aunt was putting in hair extensions. they were single plaits and the hair was curly. So a weelk later, just before a party, i decided i wanted fresh clean hair with a nice scent. I got in the shower and shampooed my hair. Moments later, I noticed the hair was in one big clump!! The hair tangled and knotted together!!!! so i looked in the mirror and shock horror! the hair was matted together! contd...

  • My bad hair experience was when i decided 2 color my hair red so i get the color after it was installed i looked like ronald mcdonald 4 about a month

  • what happened". I sat there and tried to eat my breakfast, with gel and water running down my back and sides of my face. My hair was nasty gray with gel. A HOT MESS!

  • @MrsDarkberry LOL @ your husband's comment! He sounds like mine.

  • OKAY... My PUBLIC moment.. Newly natural tried the Kinky Kurly Curstard on my freshly washed TWA, just globbed it on and ran it thru my hair and went to breakfast went my husband. I went to the restroom at the restaurant and noticed I had white globbs of gel in my hair. I decided to fix this by, sticking my head under the sink to rinse some out. A HOT MESS! When I got back to my seat, the look on my husbands face. He said with his mouth wide open in shock, "I'm not even going to ask you

  • @MrsDarkberry This made me lol!!!

  • OKAY... My PUBLIC moment. So I was newly natut

  • @Whoissugar... So what had hapened was... My mom went to beauty school when i was little , brought home her chemicals and the were @ home not messed with for 13 years then i go, pour this crap on my head and bam my hair got lighter and lighter everyday, it was hair peroxide(spell check) omg i was blond and my hair broke off so much from being dry ...2003#dumb person moment

  • ok so I decided to flat iron out my hair last summer. I went along with the wash, and conditioner. I listen to a youtuber like a jackass and try to dry my hair on cool. This mess takes me about a half an hour, so with my wet scalp. I was going oil and press my hair anyway. I pressed and burned off my ends. So I was left with crispy brown ends and my hair was still nappy. Angry at the youtuber and my foolishness. I lost 2 inches of my growth. :((( I will fully dry my hair for now on...lol

  • It was during the time I was still relaxed but I had issues with dry scalp. I had an Indian girl friend who suggested I do a lemon treatment. I'd never done it, so she helped. We're sitting in my dorm room and she's massaging fresh lemon onto my scalp. It sat for a while and then she told me to wash it out. So my scalp was feeling nice fresh and clean. The flakes were gone but those lil' juicy bits of lemon remained, for days. I could not wash that ish out and that was on straight hair!

  • @imacdiva Hmm...I wonder if I can try that with the lemon juice that comes in a bottle? I have dry scalp issues.

  • @mstaten11 You can incorporate commercial lemon juice or simply use apple cider vinegar before washing your hair. I find ACV works better for my scalp than my hair.

  • OMG Sug....last month I wanted to try a flexi-rod set on my hair for my hubby's company Christmas party. Not only was I trying the rods for the first time, I was trying a new conditioner and setting lotion too. Well, my hair was taking forever to dry and I guess it's not as easy to set natural hair. When I took those rods out, the look on my daughters face said it all! Needless to say, I ended up wearing a nice puff to the party. Learned my lesson! :-)

  • Here's my IHM my mother put a texturizer in me hair becz she claim it looked "dry" the nx day my sister saw it & she called me Eddie Cain so u kno I was acting like Edward Scissorhand..... And started cutting my hair yes I had to BC again!!!!

  • ok i got 1 for u. I tried to do my very 1st braid out but i didn't do so good with the braids so when i took the braidsout the next day OMG!!!!!!! sugar it looked i electracuted myself. so that didnt work. And i got another 1 im growing my fro out so i decided to get my ends clipped but you're supposed to wait til it's the size you want. so i did it early wrong !!!!!!!!! not only tht girl the cut was uneven. so im never gettin my hair cut ever again HAHAHAHA B BLESSED

  • "If one of my tooths!"... Shug you are to funny LOL!

  • hahahaha my blk arse did the same thing a few months back...must be a leo handicap lol only difference was that i wasnt in the shower and had no waters...yes waters.... with which to rinse the flame off my scalp! girl i was screaming like a banchee in my bathroom...my mother and sister were standing in the background cracking up!

  • Okay, just this Sunday I tried a new EcoStyler gel for my wash-n-go for service. I guess I left more conditioner in my hair than I thought, and next thing you know my hair turns WHITE! I mean, I can't go worship God with my hair looking like this! By the time I got it all rinsed out, there was no point in trying to get there. He knows my heart LOL. Lesson: Never try something new when you have somewhere important to go!

  • I didn't know I had to apply the gel to my hair in sections my hair for wash-n-go's to turn out correctly. . . . .as you can imagine I looked an epic hot mess.

  • Ummmmm, my story is back when I had a perm, I gave myself an Alphogee protein treatment. yeah, I used the moisturizer first and then the Protein treatment. I didn't understand why my hair was hard. I half rinsed it out and my hair broke off. smh@ myself cuz I had no business using something I didn't understand.

  • Oh No! Too hot. Don't Trip! Stop it! I wound have been on the floor of the shower screaming for help! 8-)

  • well when i was young my mom braided my hair into an updo and shaped up my kitchen to complete the style. Well when it started to grow back in i then realized how hairy i was! lol! i wanted her to shape me up again but she wouldnt soooo i decided i was gonna do it myself with a razor!!! O_O I damn near shaved my whole head! and u wanna talk about itchy scalp!!! OMG! sad part is i didnt even realize i jacked myself up till my mom was like OH LAWD WHAT U DO 2 UR HEAD!!! ahhh good times!! lol!

  • Wow, interesting stories. I haven't had any serious hair fails. I would love to rock 2 strand twists but I have fine hair and my 2 strand twists come out looking too "scalpy". Other than that, I'm cool. Sug, your hair in this video is GORGEOUS.

  • Wanted bangs so i cut them to short had a mini fro didnt take into consideration that you have to allow more length for curly hair just a mess

  • my fool self went and tried to detangle after putting in a deep conditioner with no slip and dang near tore my hair out!!

  • Back in the day I wanted a T-Boz cut and couldn't afford to get one and my best friend assured me she could do it and me (not using any common sense) let her. Needless to say it was the worst cut ever! After I got my ass whooped by my mother she took me to the salon and I got a Halle Berry cut. My hair was so jacked that was all I could get...lol The whole way there my mom was yelling " I should let you stay like that!"

  • Well, I mixed Kinky Curly leave in conditioner with Aloe Vera gel because I thought it would make my braid-out more defined. When I took my hair down the next day for work, I noticed flakes everywhere in my hair, it was a disaster!! I didn't really have time 2 do anything else to my hair besides pinning it up, FAIL!! Don't judge me!!! I went to work with flakes and all, smh, I know what you're thinking. People at work gave me the evil eye and the eww, you don't wash yo' hair stank face. FAIL!!!

  • Oh lord! mine was 4yrs ago I was relaxed and looking for a new look....welll I decided to flaimming red and tried in with a rinse out dye...it looked good so I went for the permanent not even a week later..WELLL.......I had a hot mess of dried brittle burnt red hair. I would wash my hair and color rinse was still coming out but i still had this flaiming color still there. I ended having to get a hair cut cause may hair was falling out...lol nver again...silly! I sure'nuff got a new look..

  • Please dont judge...ok....when i first went natural, i didnt think you had to comb or detangle. So i would just get in the shower, leave the conditioner in and slap a head band on. BAD IDEA! My hair looked like a birds nest once it dried. And what's worse people took pics of me! Def and EPIC FAIL!

  • Tragedy 2: In college got my hair braided by this lil country chick. She did some rendition of Poetic Justice braids meets The Bride of Frankenstein pin up hair do...them boys were too tight, on top of everything and she used the dark brown gel to 'slick' my hair down under the braids.....horribleness

  • LMAO Okay so both my hair tragadies have to do with weave. Tragedy 1: I wanted to see what the fuss about crochet braids were so I asked around and finally got them 'installed' by a girl that I worked with. GIGANTIC MISTAKE! That mess looked like curly fries on my head, took 'em down before the weekend was up.

  • I think my stories are too tragic lol.

  • Or when that lady that was doing my relaxer one day (I was in highschool) would not wash it out for nothing. She kept saying, "Oh it's ok." And I was sittin up there beating the arm of the chair up in pain. I had so many burns at the back of my head. Crazy.

  • Ohhhh lol....when I ws little. I was playing around with a cigarette lighter. I was pressing down on the little button to listen to the sound of the gas (I have no idea why). Then I started striking it instead of pressing the button. Well the fire came out and burned some of the hair on the right side of my head. Tragic. I am ok now!!!

  • I put oil n my hair on day in May and....well, it was just too much. I had oil running dwn my neck like sweat all day!

  • all I can say is apple spice black tea cinnamon conditioner spray....stay indoors away from flying bugs looking for sweet smells! All up in my hair!

  • I have a vid called twist out results after banana conditioner. I talk about my disaster results. Took over an hour to get all those bananas out of my hair. Lol, so I totally understand what u went thru

  • Interestingly enough, my hair fail was the same as your latest one, that dang banana, avocado smoothie dc (Inspired by fusionofcultures--love her vids). I smashed it with a fork instead of using a blender, and hot dang! Banana head! I had to work for HOURS to get it out. Ended up literally beating on my hair with a bristle brush. Yes. It was awful.

  • Just happened a couple weeks ago. After successfully putting kinky twists in my hair one time previously, I thought "Yes, I'll do it again, I need a break from doing my hair all the time." Mistake I made...getting the wrong hair. Spent 14 hours putting in twists just to see what was pretty much obvious 2 hours in, the hair was too poofy. Hair.would.not.lay.down. Just stuck straight out. So I had to take the twists down, go get the right hair, and then do them all over again....smh

  • @c0c0puffz I had the weave + finger waves too! Lmao

  • Got a weave and went on vacay... Upon my return, my stylist suddenly had an assistant who washed my hair without detangling after taking out the tracks. My hair matted up something SERIOUS & they spent over an hr trying to get the knots out. I ended up with a headache & chunks of hair cut out. I got one more relaxer and then went natural.

  • I'd had my hair in braids for like 2 months. Took them down, skipped the detangling part before I washed it cause I didn't have a lot of time and it didn't look very tangled. GURL, that water hit my hair and that mess locked up at the ROOT! No amount of conditioner, oil, praying or cussing could get those knots out. I ended up pulling or cutting them out in sheer frustration! My shit was so brittle after that, whenever I touched it, it just fell out in my hands! I'll never forget that!

  • MAN! I made some homemade detangler based off a recipe from one of thses natural hair books.... Did not detangle a darn thing and wasted the individual products... so mad! Now you know detangling is a beast. What I thought was going to take 30 mins took 3 hours... MAD! Not upset, MAD!

  • Your story had me in tears :')

  • Mine was when I 1st attempted to go natural and I was goin to a hair stylist that had no idea about natural hair. She got so fed up that she ended up talkin me into gettin a texlax. I did. She put it in. My hair was not "waving properly" so she put me under a dryer and I sat there for like 2 minutes. When she washed my hair out all was well..until I woke up with a small patch of hair on my pillow and a bald spot the next day. So I ended up gettin a fade and free hair services for a year! smh

  • @zoe77able I had that same issue with my real natural hair dresser she couldn't leave well enough along. Why big chop to get a tex-lax and a color on top of it. let's just say I had a mini little chop two months later myself. With out her help. That mess cost me 65 dollars and I just wanted a cut.

  • 5 weeks after my BC, i discover YT, i hear something about cayenne pepper scalp massages (i am sure that's not what i heard, but that's what my dumb brain processed) and that coochie cream making your hair grow. so i mix the 2 together, massage my scalp really well (i had about 1 inch of hair then), wear a plastic cap and tie a satin scarf on top. Go to bed, fell asleep straight away as i was so tired, friday night. wake up at 2am crying my eyes out, washing my hair, i was up for 3 hours trying

  • @louloumatou (2) trying to get my scalp to stop stinging, i ended up making a mango+banana smoothie with blended ice cubes and left it on my head for the cooling effect. I had the worst headache too from the vagina cream. and my eyes were stinging and red from the cayenne pepper running down my face during the washing processes. It was a nightmare, thank God it was the weekend cos i was too ashamed to go out and lie about being sick when i had done it to myself!!

  • @louloumatou LOLOL!!!...Ouchie ouch!!

  • @watchfuleye2008 it was painful and i think that is what has made me weary of scalp massages!! :)

  • @louloumatou LOL! Could have been worse, at least you blended the mango and banana so you didn't have pieces stuck in your hair and you also didn't put that cream where it rightfully belonged. :D

  • @TheSupasweet definitely could've been, but i learned my lesson with the avocado (not blended) the week before, and even though my hair was really short, it was a pain to get the pieces of avocado out of it!! :) hahaha :) long time no see, i hope you are doing well xxx

  • @louloumatou Oh, I'm great, it's my computer that isn't (may it rest in peace) but I have a new one now so I'll be back uploading any minute now.

  • @TheSupasweet oh RIP old computer and welcome to YT new one!! :)

  • @louloumatou OMG! If this were a contest girl you'd be the winner...this is just hilarious!

  • @matnicaj1 hahaha, thank u!! never to be repeated!! :) xx

  • Aside from braids (extensions) coming out in public because my hair was either too short or the braids had grown out, it would have to be cutting off about 8 to 10 inches of relaxed hair in my bang area and having to rock hair bands every single day for months, while it grew back... At one time, I had a curly weave with micro braids for the hairline. I got scissor-happy when I was taking the weave out and one fast scissor clip was irreversible.

  • Funni stories, I had a good laugh on this one, THANKS SUG!

  • I'm natural now but when they were wearing the mushroom hairstyle back in the day. I tried to curl my hair with the hot curlers you put on the stove. When curling, I started from the back, right behind my ear, wrap those curlers around and all of my hair can out with the curlers, lmbo! I was so heated. I had a nice full round mushroom too. I had to wear my hair over one side for a long time, lol. Never ever tried that again! That was my ignorant moment.

  • I just have to say I am lovin' your hair in this vid.

  • lol!! great story

  • I was having a lot of shedding and I heard through the grapevine that garlic would stop it...So, I blended up some garlic and mixed it with some olive oil and proceeded to put this on my hair. OMG, apparently I didn't blend the garlic up fine enough.I had garlic in my hair for days. It took about a bottle of olive oil, shampoo, conditioner, and 20 gallons of water to finally get that mess out of my hair. I will never do that again! I now buy odorless garlic tablets and it works A LOT better!

  • 1993..Got my hair done on my own for the 1st time:Relaxer, short cut, dyed it burgundy, yep I was grown. Went home and put on a plastic cap yesss plastic cap as not to mess up the doo..went to sleep in said plastic cap & woke to a matted steamy purple mess..my parents laughed at my expense and contacted the hairdresser who also felt sorry for me and fixed it the same day for free..I had that pushed far back in my mental roledex!! Love ya Sug!!

  • Hilarious!!!!!!!!!

  • lawd! when i was in six grade and these girls was trying to braid my hair, so homie said my edges was to short. they really were not so my donkey ass whent home and cut off my edges bald. when my mama saw that ish, i got the ass whopping of my ancestors! lmao i did grow them back till 10 grade high school! lmao

  • These stories are hilarious!

  • Lmafoooooooo!!!! Oh God my stomach hurts. Lesson learned! Only u Sug. One love.

  • LMAOOOOO...Thiss is wayyy too funnyyyy...I remember just a few wks ago I tried to make some kind of hair mayonnaise n altho the application was a bit messy that wasnt even the worse part...after washing the concoction out of my hair I had to pick out left over egg particles from my hairrr...highly upsetting...but I got it outt...^.^

  • I had some coconut oil in a plastic applicator bottle that I decided to stick in the microwave. I didn't take off the little theft prevention sticker which had some type of metal on it and I almost burned my house down

  • @mmrrtup girl, I have done that too!

  • Fail 2: This was years ago. Like, the summer after I graduated from HS and right before starting college. I went to a journalism camp and my mom had put box braid extentions in my hair so I wouldn't have to mess with it. I thought I was so cute. Lol. One day we (me and the other participants) went swimming. I was having a great time until I hear someone say, "What is that?" I looked. It was one of my braid extentions. LMAO!

  • Fail 1: It was holiday season 2010. The night before going into to work, I decided to drench my hair in olive oil for a prepoo. We were supposed to wear Santa hats anyway so I figured it would work out. Well, of course I forgot my hat. So I borrowed my co-worker's hat. At the end of the day I took it off and started to hand it back to him. He gives me a look that I will never forget and says, "Girl, you can keep it." BAHAHA! I was so embarassed!!!

  • i removed extensions from hair & me with my lazy self jumped right into the shower *w/out detangling* thinking that the shampoo and conditioner, for sure, wd remove all the gunk from the roots. WRONG. it completely matted my hair. Picture it - the roots natural, then matted / dreaded hair, followed by stringy relaxed hair. NOTHING helped & I had to cut it all off. The real kicker is that I forgot about this & did the same thing 5 years later. Lesson learned: laziness = BC (twice)

  • Yep for the egg thing! But I knew not to get under the dryer with a egg mixture on my hair. But for some reason I decided that it would be okay to rinse my hair with hot water......lol

  • honey chileeeee let me tell you...i proceeded to mix mayo egg white banana avocado and a lil condtioner and some honey .. so i smell it and it smell so good ye i had to put it in my hair... so i put it in and im balling... i let it sit... i mean i saw the lil chucks but i was like they will wash out... -______- no they didnt and on top of 3 hrs i had to be in the bathroom another 2 hrs tryin to get that mess out and like u i got alot of hair u can chk my vid to see it. it was not fun smh

  • Lol. I had a similar situation (in the shower) with conditioner, olive oil, and heated honey but I did end up falling in the shower and I just sat there for like 10 miniutes laughing to myself and then had to call my boyfriend in to help me up.

  • I had college the next day and started to panic becuase now my hair was uneven, so I had to cut even more of my hair out... I think i had lost about 4 inches of growth that day :(. I just happened to have some left over extensions from long before that that I hadnt used and decided to clip them into my hair... then my reseach (and obsession) on hair began!

  • @XxTinaTeexX LMAO!!!! Omg....my goodness. My stomach hurts lol!!!

  • Trying to do an egg protein treatment. For some reason i thought i could sit under a blow dryer. Lord let me tell you. I had scramble eggs all in my hair. All i could do is laugh. My honey was snapping pictures left and right. My dog was chasing me around the house trying to eat the eggs. :(

  • @mrsdthomas SAME HERE LOL *except the pictures and the dog lol*

  • @mrsdthomas LMBO!!!!!!!! the dog part killed me!

  • So... around this time I knew NOTHING about taking care of hair, and I tried to wash my hair with conditioner hoping that all the buildup to get washed out (despite washing my hair every week there was still alot of buildup going on between the tracks) i went to the mirror and felt the back of my head... there was A GIANT DREADLOCK - I wanted to cry. My hair was relaxed back then. I tried detangling it, and it didnt really work, so i had to cut a whole chunk of hair out (tbc again :|)

  • I had a hair fail two years ago where I had a sew in for around 2 months and I noticed that one of the tracks that was at the lower back of my head had shedded sooo badly (I was trying out differet brands of hair at the time) that it was the track on its own with no hair on it. I actually dont know to this day why I kept it in for so long lol. I took me aages to get all the tracks out without accidentally taking my own hair out. Tired to wash it but discovered there was no shampoo left! O_O(tbc)

  • I put the UBH Deep conditioner in my natural hair and it made my hair very hard and it stuck to my head! No bueno!

  • i had the egg in hair fiasco too...ugh!!!

  • Ah. Stupid autocorrect, comment fail! Took down twists and hadn't detangled enough. Hair matted like there was no tomorrow. Etc, etc

  • Took down twists and hasn't set angled enough. My hair matted lik there was not tomorrow. I spent hours adding conditioner, crying, pulling at my hair to detangle then crying agin. I had to do a major trim afterwards, and am still cutting out damage a year later.

  • I tried the conditioner only method for my wash n go. The front was glistening, curly and cute. Get to my mom's house. Styling and profiling and she says to me, "Sweetpea, you have a giant clump of white stuff in your hair." I grab my mirror out of the purse, there it was a big glob of NOW hardened conditioner right in that coarsest area of my hair. I ran errands with this clump in my head. I was so positive that I checked this before I left. Nope, I got disracted by my 3 year old. lol

  • well if you really want to know, it was when i was a kid and i went against my parents wishes and took my grown self*so i thought* to a hair school and got a jeri-curl, when i returned home my mother was flawed and refused to buy me the activator gel and my juicy curls dried up...lol...what a horror story to go to school with a dry curl

  • @SweetGaBrownin LOL! Oh Lawd! That aint right. smh.

  • @whoissugar no it was not, but i truly learned my lesson...glad no one has any pics of that...lol

  • @SweetGaBrownin LMBO @ your mama!!! Lawd...that was so mean....a dry jheri...just not right....just not right...

  • @drroberson4 and she was so serious, i was like mama you're really going let my hair stay dry like that..

  • @SweetGaBrownin,

My hair fail also involved a jherri curl and a hair school. I think my stylist forgot to,put neutralizer on my hair. When she was done my hair was dry, crispity, and crunchity. There was not enough activator in the world to moisturize my situation and my scalp was itching non stop. I had to go to school with crunchtastic hair for a week before I could make it back to the beauty school for them to do some corrective work. SMH.

  • @inoyoo lol @ crispity and crunchity, never again

  • The same as you Sug: I did not thoroughly mix the avocado and banana, and I had a helluva time trying to get that mess out of my hair. I should have put it in the blender. I will never do that again.

  • @pamsegg1 Same here. Never.

  • My hair fail was last Christmas. I was cutting out crochet braids and snipped off an entire braid right by my ear! Honey! I cried for that braid then called all my unconcerned friends about that braid. It was a tragedy...

  • @keish1 SHUT UP!

  • Um, yeah...I did that too. I had two bald spots at the front of my head! Smh

  • The worst epic hair fail for me was when I was in 8th grade and I called myself straigtening my hair with a hotcomb..Lord why did I do that. Hotcomb was entirley to hot when I got to my bangs and I saw at least three fourths of my bang still in the comb after the first pass....I burned, no destroyed my poor hair..I was so sad.

  • @Chrissy4281 O_O My sister did that too. smh.

  • Chile... Fail #1- I had leftover relaxer in the fridge thinking that would be enough. Got through half my head when I completely ran out. Mom tried spreading what was already in my head throughout. Had to send my dad to get a box at the store o_0... I was left with half a head of overly processed hair and the other half looked like I just put grease on it. Fail #2 - I had micro twists in my relaxed hair and tried to "take them out" with conditioner in the shower.. this lead to my big chop.

  • @septemberlove04 O_O I can only imagine.

  • I've done the same thing! bun off my head, trying to deep condition, lol.

  • @purfikt smh. Lesson learned.

  • Ok two stories: 1. I also did the egg thing. Didn't rinse well at all. Blow dried my hair and I had someones breakfast all up in my head. Smh. 2. I once tried to rinse out a relaxer in the shower. (I know, I know) Had a chemical burn down the middle if my back. I didn't think that situation through

  • @callie751 Say no to egg in the hair. Ya'll are cracking me up with the scrambled eggs in hair stories.

  • @callie751 OMG, girl u lucky that it didn't hit those "other places" OUCH!

  • @lipSHOCK I did the same lol

  • I did a protein deep conditioner with eggs in high school and STUPIDLY rinsed with hot water -- mind you, this is before I gained knowledge on proper hair care and maintence, so forgive me. You know where this is going... I stepped out of the shower and looked in the mirror, hair was covered in white flakes. Called my mother into the bathroom to ask her what the white flakes were. She looked at me and said, "This is egg. You cooked the egg in your hair." -____________- LESSON LEARNED. =p

  • @lipSH0CK I literally just bust out laughing when I read this because I JUST did the same thing to my hair...last week. LOL

  • @lipSH0CK hahahahha HILARIOUS! I can't get past having a slimy egg in my hair, so that's why I've never tried it. After reading the horror stories, I'm NOT going to try it either.

  • Humm....... i decided to define my curls with nothing but a water spritz and gel in 30mn, yes ......30mn , when my texture requires that i do it in the shower on drenched hair then shake it like a dog and make sure i stay indoor for at least 3hours. Now my hair and it's glorious thickness rebeled , turned into a hot mess , I had to go out , so i roked a beenie , knowing that i had nothing but gunk underneath and a tangled sticky fro :-S....BAAD SITUATION !!

  • @Berenice33eunice LOL! Thank GOD for hats and such.

  • Back when it was popular I had the glue in weave in the back and fingerwaves in the front.

  • @c0c0puffz YES!

  • Gave myself hot oil treatment...first time burnt myself cause i had it microwave too long. Another time last week, slept with oil in my got up later that night put in a hair clip and went to work...was wiping my neck and sides of face the whole night, and i work in customer service so u know the customers were like WHAT??!! 0_0

  • @leneahunts hahahahaha I've had that happen too. LOL!

  • I actually did it today. Eggs, mayo, and honey treatment. My hair was so rtight, if I wasn't sure if I was protein sensitive I'm sure now. I use so much conditioner to get it softer. You learn to stop trying everything.

  • @pamrosina Amen! STOP using everything.

  • Last year I wanted some more defined curls so I put a whole buncha jell in my hair, that mess never dried and the tips had white specs lookin like dandruff... but thats not the worst part ya'll .. I had an orchestra recital that night and the violinist beside me ... well her bow (the stick that you use when you play the violin) got stuck in my hair and left her bow all greasy and she was European American so ya'll know she was like WTF! I had to give her my spare bow smh

  • @KylaKyla12Kyla hahahahahah Hilarious!!

  • I was put a relaxer in my hair @ my aunt house ..but i wanted oil my hair so started looking for her oil spray bottle she has...i found it and started spraying the hell outta my hair it started burning I stated screaming she ran in the bathroom and ask me whats wrong I told her what I did and she said " thats not my oil bottle thats bleach to clean the tub the oil bottle is n my room I was pissed needless ALL my hair fell out and i never use her oil again I had no choice but 2 go natural

  • @MONIEMAMA O_O

  • And the other was my happy self didn't wait til the avocado got ripe and thought that I could just blend the chunks out. My hair was like "Uh un, honey chile. Hellz no."

  • @rjmami8508 LOL!
