lyrics:Coffee cup, Malibou Mines The shooting of the power lines I don't know what's on my mind Just dreaming of a simpler time And if I should explode into gasping Mary Please take me home to where the cross is rose Coffee cup, an open mind The weathermen are flying blind You seem to me the bleeding kind Just dreaming of simpler time And if I should explode into gasping Mary Please take me home to where the cross is rose
Great song, which I associate with my move from Florida to Arizona in 94 (in fact, I think this band is from AZ?)... it stands on its own, but particularly memorable for the lines "I don't know what's on my mind/dreaming of a simpler time", wondering if I'd made the right choice in moving here. 17 years later, still here, still wondering.
@phxgator Sounds like me moving from Illinois to Arkansas around the same time. I never was going to be here more than 6 years. It's now going on 18 and I've been married, had two kids, divorced and life is shittier than it ever was.
thanx 4 the awesome memories! i'm back in my twenties still living in seattle when i hear these guys! seemed like somebody has this cd everywhere i went! even guys that listened 2 phish had it!
Hands down their best song, sad they never made a video of it. I remember listening to this album secretly in class because I couldn't live an hour without it!
so good, molg are my favourite 90s band... reminds me somehow on "back to room one" from new musik, listen to that after if I should explode, they fit perfectly together...
Machines of loving grace, whale, for love not lisa,filter,m.l.w.t.k.k,kmfdm,god lives under water, and countless other's were overlooked, these band's made the 90's
yeah man, MOLG makes me sad, cos they broke up so soon. one of my favorite bands of all times together with danzig and afghan whigs. and MOLG still had the unreleased album to be released, Love Scenes At The Slave Market. such a shame, while generic terrible industrial rock bands recorded 7 albums.
My number one favorite song of ALL time... I can still listen to this over and over again and NEVER get sick of it. Too bad they broke up- MUCHAS GRACIAS TO WHOEVER UPLOADED THIS ALBUM- BEEN LOOKING FOR IT FOR YEARS!!!
I know exactly what you mean (to xenmuse)(about not getting sick of it)... I felt that way about the WHOLE ALBUM! I mean, seriously... how often does THAT happen?!
As a matter of fact, I am pretty sure I used to own TWO different ones by them, and I felt that way with BOTH albums!
I had always assumed for the last 15 years that "Golgotha Tenement Blues" (one of the highlights of the soundtrack to The Crow) was their best song... until I heard this. Both are pretty genius.
I always thought they were singing " shooting up the power of lies"cause they're soo junkie-centric anyways. I like my line better.
