  • Buckshot of Black Moon lays down some amazing knowledge in ''How To-Rap'':

"It's trying to create something spiritual. I try to take the yin and yang approach, which is the balance. Negative and positive is a part of life, so when I write, I write from that perspective—I write from the yin and yang."

Really on-point quotes in that book, they had everyone from the golden age and the pioneers and most of the underground all took a role in making it, best book out.

  • I guess 26 people never had a nickel bag of weed yes indeed

  • @baazbana I never did but I love this shit. You don't need a bag of weed to recognise this as great music.

  • @japjef ----Dude its part of the lyrics of this song. Buckshot says with a "nickel bag a weed yes indeed". Checkout the lyrics.

  • @baazbana I know, it was meant as a compliment - you don't need a bag of weed to like it cause it's such a great tune, you will also like it without ;)

  • chunky stuff, better quality would be great

  • i think the boot camp clik was every bit as good as wu tang

  • @75lord I agree

  • Black Moon and BCC is better than the rest! Believe that!

  • I aint even gotta say nothin

  • @RickyTan187

That's what made Blackmoon's remixes some of the best EVER! The album version was raw, hard and in your face with explicit lyrics... but then they dropped the remix which was smooth, laid back, "radio friendly" but still just as ill as the original, if not better! I still enjoy vibin' off of their music to this day!

  • still fire

  • Buckshot has the smoothest flow to grace Hip-Hop

  • Wow..My old hood..Franklin ave and union!!!! Let's go Brooklyn!!!!

  • Whats the original song name before it was sample

  • CRAZY ASS BROOKLYN KIDS MAKE GOOD MUSIC .

  • @CheriMartina It samples Donald Byrd - Wind Parade, not Roy Ayers but both are great jazz musicians and sample sources regardless.

  • To all the peeps who say sampling isn't real music, that's like saying because a chef didn't grow any of his ingredients it ain't good food.

  • @passthespot Sampling done the right way is real music. This is an example.

  • @passthespot some of the reason why people say that about sampled music is cuz old school hip hop heads consider ORIGINAL produced music like selling out. they dont like you using syntheziserz and shit.beats like from three 6 mafia or like timabaland. they expect ALL producers to be like rza pete rock or dj premier. i find that kinda stupid, when hip hop is about being ORIGINAL.

  • @passthespot ridiculous analogy

  • To the weak what we do.....

  • 20 suckas! I guess those who give thumbs down to classics like this, do it just to receive a diss & they dont know any better.

  • @TheScienceofArt can't wait for RTB

  • old school baby! it will never be the same! this is when a brother had a story to tell!

  • I was on a flight back to Philly and the guy I sat next to was an AFL player. He asked if I was listening to Buck'em Down.... (I am a white guy 5'8" wearing a polo shirt on a flight leaving from Boston) I turned and said "welcome to flight black moon.... we about to take you 31,000 feet". He laughed and took the other ear-phone... "I didn't know people still knew real hip hop."

  • @Orangebike666 NICE ! you better not be lying, cause this is ill :)

  • @MrBboyHP He played for the Manchester Wolves (Arena Football League)

  • @Orangebike666 that's pretty dope, love how traditional hip-hop attracts people together like that. Sucks that it's being so badly represented nowadays

  • @bigelow345 I think he was wrong though... there is no "real" hip hop just "fake-wannabe" hip hop.

  • @Orangebike666 I get what you're saying, sometimes using that word gets chippy, even though it may be justified. Sometimes it leads to head butting when you talk to people who aren't familiar with it's purer form. They take it as an attack on them as they identify themselves with it's commercialized form. I used to get in arguments all the time with people who were so stubborn about the topic that tried to justify it's existence.

  • @Orangebike666 Cont. I eventually stopped wasting my energy, kinda frustrated me though because hip-hop was a big part of my life for a long-time, as I used to mc and had a more vested interest in the artform. I think what the guy on the plane was speaking to was it's misrepresentation and how people interpret that misrepresentation as being it's new-found meaning. Due to repetition it becomes true to those who internalize those negative and false images as being true.

  • @bigelow345 I got you. I was being sarcastic of course there is real hip hop I was being funny saying that some of the shit now days is nothing but fake. Not to mention that some artists are still making credible music. If they don't want to listen to what we have to say... they are the ones missing out.

  • @Orangebike666 true. sorry, guess i missed the sarcasm

  • @bigelow345 its all good.

  • @Orangebike666 that's fucking awesome man.

  • @Orangebike666 thats dope! How'd u enjoy my hometown Boston? Prob not as much as this song... Nd honestly it seems only white boys kno real hip hop nowadays mang... Boston boy lost in Pittsburgh lol
