  • they should take the whales killers to jail not the greenpeace's activists.. what do i have to live in this country..

  • Free the Tokyo-Two!

  • shame on Japan.Shame!

  • 窃盗犯の方ですね

    日本では信用が失墜してますよ

  • Do you know that the two guys ATE the meat ?

    watch?v=IxFfj4Az0iU&feature=related

  • Hallo Kitty launched a campaign that will save the whales from ending up on restaurant tables, and hopefully that will free the Tokyo two.

    /watch?v=IOwiP-VlZoI

  • Thank you for your arguments on legal issues, miley1434, and please try to prove it in a legal and socially acceptable manner. For those who are interested in counter arguments, please google for Debunking the "five breached treaties".

  • I am informed that the facebook group "Debunking the five breached treaties" debunks the legimate arguments by deleting comments and even sometimes banning anti-whaling users when they can't deal with them.

  • I can neither confirm or deny your information for sure as I am not a member of the group but I never saw such a case there myself.

  • Japan has ignored these as well as the prior 30+ Resolutions while continuing the JARPA programs, significantly weakening the ICRW and undermining the IWC's indefinite moratorium on commercial whaling.

Phony research targets fin whales and threatens to target humpback whales. These are endangered species and thus this is a violation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. The IUCN list the southern minke whales as conservation dependent.

  • The Japanese are in violation of IWC regulation 19. (a) The IWC regulations in the Schedule to the Convention forbid the use of factory ships to process any protected stock: 19. (a) It is forbidden to use a factory ship or a land station for the purpose of treating any whales which are classified as Protection Stocks in paragraph 10. Paragraph

  • 10. Paragraph 10(c) provides a definition of Protection Stocks and states that Protection Stocks are listed in the Tables of the Schedule. Table 1 lists all the baleen whales, including minke, fin and humpback whales and states that all of them are Protection Stocks.

  • The Japanese whaling ships are not allowed to utilize Australian and New Zealand ports because of the recognition and condemnation by these two nations of Japan's unlawful whaling operations.

The Japanese are whaling in violation of the International Whaling Commission's global moratorium on commercial whaling. The IWC scientific committee does not recognize this bogus research that the Japanese are using as an excuse. Whalers are killing whales in the Southern Ocean Sanctuary for whales.

  • from below -"Greenpeace taken over by the CIA in the mid 70s". OMG, that makes sense. Such a giant organization, the government might want to pull all the strings, and control the money, but do just enough to keep things moving. And of course CIA likes to run around doing things covertly like stealing.

  • You dont know me and you dont know my country. I live in Ireland for a decade and half, and I can safely say that I know the English speaking nations psyche much more than you do the Japanese (少しでも日本語しゃべれますか?). I understand I am disagreeable to you on this issue, but you better think about which of us it makes look bad to brand me as how you described me.

  • That is how a Japanese who lives in Tokyo told me how he judges this issue.

Thanks to the internet. Here is a good read:

Investigating the sale of whale meat -the "byproduct" of research whaling written by a Japanese perhaps this will help you to see how another Japanese person describes the whaling issue.

  • Thank you for introducing the article but unfortunately I couldn't find it by googling. As for the whale meat stock, this might be a good read for you.

    david-in-tokyo●blogspot●com

    (type . instead of ●)

  • This pulls up the article:

Investigating the sale of whale meat the "byproduct" of research whaling pdf

  • Thank you. I'll read it carefully later. I guess some issues in the article are addressed by the link I provided.

  • I'll have my interns take a look at it.

  • No matter what, the Greenpeace activists Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki achieved their goal of bringing the alleged whale meat scandal to public light.

  • The whalers that the Greenpeace sued in relation to this incident are all acquitted now. For me, this incident highlighted again how Greenpeace make a scandal out of lies and half-truth in order to get attention and solicit money.

  • People like you are against the anti-whalers culturally they don't like being told what to do by the outside groups, or western nations.

  • Describing these two petty thieves as Tokyo Two trivialises the real life tragedy that happened to the Guildford Four and the Birmingham Six who are totally innocent. These 2 gained access to a delivery depot with false identity and carried items away knowing that these items are not their property. They voluntarily confessed what they did in front of the press that they themselves invited for that particular purpose, before they were arrested. They will be punished according to the law.

  • Since usually it's Australians, Americans or British taking anti-whaling actions, not the Japanese themselves, the Japanese government wants to severely punish the Greenpeace activists Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki, who actually are political prisoners, as a warning to citizens who question the country's controversial whaling policy.

  • Again I feel describing these two as political prisoners is an insult to the real political prisoners. While even the authorities need a warrant to confiscate items, what makes these two believe they can do so without? Is it for what they believe is "justice"? What would happen if everybody becomes as self important as these two and start breaking laws for their own "justice"? I don't want this chaos in my country. Therefore, I support the Japanese authorities on this issue.

  • Japanese whaling activities are illegal under IWC regulations and the provisions of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, the Antarctic Treaty thus undermine the rule of law and pose serious concerns for the health of oceanic eco-systems and the conservation of endangered species.

I want order in our oceans therefore I support what I support.

  • That the world according to you believe its illegal doesn't mean the world according to somebody else also believe it is. If you believe it is illegal, just prove it in a legal and socially acceptable way. Sato and Suzuki are being tried not because they are anti-whaling but because what they did constitutes crimes (trespass and theft). As they confessed it in front of the media, the Japanese police had no choice but arrest them to restore the order.

  • trespass and theft

This is exactly what Japanese whaling fleet is doing in that whale sanctuary. More over they lie about a phony science to whole world.

There is one thing about the law, if an unlawful action exposes greater crime, the unlawful action gets lesser (or sometime none) punishment. But Apparently smuggling is not a crime in Japan. I didn't hear anything about what happen to the crew members who smuggled illegal whale meat.

  • I understand how you view the Japanese whaling but what I am saying is if you believe it is illegal, just prove it in a legal and socially acceptable way before you believe you are the supralegal existence. Do not support illegal acts for your own "justice", which I believe is irresponsible and self important. All the walers that the Greenpeace sued in relation to the incident are all acquited now, not because the smuggling is not a crime in Japan but because it wasn't smuggling.

  • Junichi and Toru had no intent of illegal acquisition for personal gain, I think this defines the crime of "theft" under law. They exposed abuse of taxpayer subsidized whale industry and gathered firm evidence of an embezzlement ring involving crew members on board the whalers factory ship Nisshin Maru, who were openly taking the best cuts of whale meat from "scientific" hunt, smuggling it ashore disguised as personal luggage and then passing it to traders for illegal sales for personal gain

  • In 1995, many people were killed and injured by sarin gas spread by a cult called Aum Shinrikyo in the Tokyo subway. The criminals did this not for their own personal gain, but for what they believed was justice. The court found no wrong-doings from the whalers who are now acquitted.

  • This is off topic. Insane mass murderers can't be compared to two super eco-heroes.

  • Of course, the scale of the crime is different but the nature is the same. People can commit a crime not for personal gain but for what they believe. I think this is why the Greenpeace is monitored by FBI in the US.

  • Of course the scale of the crime of genocide is different between Israel's genocide over Palestinians and the genocide of whales which is committed by Japan, Norway and Greenland. People or nations can commit any crime for any reasons the question here is why some are prepared to break the law and face the consequences and some are not (i.e. genosider whalers)

Sorry to break the news so late for you but it is very well known that the Greenpeace is taken over by the CIA in the mid seventies.

  • You contradict yourself. You said "Junichi and Toru had no intent of illegal acquisition for personal gain, I think this defines the crime of "theft" under law." And now you are saying "People or nations can commit any crime for any reasons". You said it's off topic and now you took it as on topic. "the question here is why some are prepared to break the law and face the consequences and some are not" - this is exactly what I want to say to Sato and Suzuki.

  • Junichi and Toru are like not so smart FBI agents who investigated internal corruption within the Mafia and helped only the Godfather who benefited from it. And now the Godfather is rejecting the FBI findings in favour of policing their own. Yes they'll be charged, but in a real democracy where people can have equal rights and voices, the conservationists who are upholding the highest moral law, would not be charged for 10 years and the real misdemeanor they exposed would be punished.

  • Look! Those who call somebody illegal and won't listen to counter arguments now take moral high ground and start preaching. How convincing they sound!

  • As I said before these two activists took a stand against Japan's national policy, so they will be harshly punished, and will be used as a warning to Japanese citizens who question Japans whaling policy.

How convenient and how highly moral is that!

  • Your argument is based on your fantasy. You want Japan to behave like a dictator. But it is you who is actually behaving like one. You call somebody illegal and you don't allow any counter-argument. You believe your moral high ground should be taken for granted without question and those who challenge your view have no right to complain if they become the target of your anti-social acts as you are acting for the "Justice". I wonder how one can become so self important.

  • No not really, I think every goverment has a little bit of corruption, and some national pride. This is nothing new. Japanese scientific whaling is an insult to scientist and a huge lie. In my opinion the world will remember this as it is. Whaling for scientific purposes should be banned, and the current International IWC moratorium on commercial whaling should be strengthened, the European Parliament said today. Now you may should wonder how 500 Million people can become so self important.

  • I have no problem you or 500 million people argue against whaling. Everybody has a right to an opinion. What you said in this column is that those have different opinion than you don't have right to argue back and should be reduced to the target of anti-social acts from people like you who act for the "justice". I didn't say those who argue against whaling are all self important. I said people like you who deny other people's rights and resort to or support anti-social acts are self important.

  • "No not really, I think every government has a little bit of corruption, and some national pride. " This might be true as no individual or organisation is perfect. However, it is your fantasy that "a little bit of corruption" will work on this particular case. Therefore, your argument is still based on your fantasy.

  • My fantasy is to live in an ideal and perfect place or state where everyone lives in harmony and everything is for the best. In that regard what I see Japans vote buying by giving away money for little African farm nations fisheries and explain this as a benevolent action and following the highest moral ground to its letter. My question is why? whaling accounts for 0.0014 per cent of the national economy Toilet paper industry brings in more, why dishonor a nation like that?

  • Your fantasy that we are discussing at the moment is one about the Japanese government. I can give you one reasonable reason why "a little bit of corruption" won't work on this case. It is that the court is independent of the government. Of course there is a possibility of collusion between them, but could you name any examples of collusion in the recent Japanese judicial history? because I cant think of any.

  • I'd google for

Scholarly articles for corruption in japan's judicial system

    then scrool down.

  • then, what did you find?

  • As for CIA/FBI, I think FBI also monitor it. Just google for "ACLU: FBI misuses terror powers to track political groups". (the USA Today 12/20/2005 article)

  • Yes you have got to monitor what you took over.

  • And if you are interested in the counter-argument to your claim that Japan is against the treaty you named, google for Debunking the "five breached treaties".

  • The Japanese whaling industry is targeting endangered and threatened whale populations inside an internationally established whale sanctuary in violation of the regulations of the International Whaling Commission and the global moratorium on commercial whaling. There is no counter argument to that.

  • There are always counter arguments in democratic countries. Just read the link I introduced. If you call somebody illegal, you should expect to be countered and challenged. Minkes and humpbacks are rated as least concern by IUCN. They are taken in a sustainable way. Japan submitted the dispute to the sanctuary decision. The reason of the dispute is that the decision was made against the recommendation from the IWC science committee, which is against the IWC constitution.

  • geez... you shouldn't care about their look! you should sign the petition to support junichi and toru!

  • What a pathetic thief! He should be put in a jail for the long time. Hahahaha Loser!

  • Finally some Japanese are found that care about the environment. Most Japanese are taught from birth to be warlike and destroy anything that lives including each other. So they enjoy taking out their instincts to kill on whales and dolphins instead of the women and children they slaughtered in Nanking during world war II.

  • what ever happened to these men in the end?

  • Now I do view JAPS pig as genetically inferior and culturally inferior.

    nice video 5

  • they are fucked.

  • what is whales good for anyway? If you hippies want the sea lvl to decrease take out the whales it will make it sink! Stupid hippies

  • What are you good for anyway? stupid whaler.

  • well i am a worker for the swedish society, atm i am a student but after i graduate i will have something hippies dont have, JOBS. So i will contribute to my land and i will pay taxes and so on dont wanna say everything.

  • I pay alot of taxes, A lot, lot. I finished everything there is to finish, I make money more than you will ever do in your entire life, I never been a hippy. With this much Stereotyping, lack of knowledge, insensitivity for environment, and being an anti-whale person and all I wouldn't hire you even to scrub toilets.

  • fucking japs. boycott all jap products. subhuman scum

  • thx for the information

  • Japan is a member of the International Whaling Commission (IWC). In 1986, the IWC's moratorium on the killing of whales went into effect. It is not permitted to kill whales protected by the IWC. Around the cost of Japan observers have seen the fishermen slaughtering entire pods of pilot whales. That is a wholesale violation of the provisions of the IWC and is illegal as whaling in the Southern Ocean. Japan exploits a loophole and issues permits for scientific whaling which is condemned by IWC.

  • why dont you put a dick in your mouth so that nothing comes out of it!

  • hehe good advice mate.

  • haha, japanese really like their seafood dont they? they are always doing some crazy shit so they can eat dolphins and whales.

  • I encourage all youtubers to boycott whale meat.

  • The same goes to you put a dick in it already! you worthless sack of shit, your the scum of the earth! I dont like violence but your ignorence really makes me tick and if I would ever meet or see you I would punch you straight on the throat! fucking BItch

  • These people are true courageous heroes.

Japan was #1 on my vacation list; however, I refuse to go there until they show some integrity.

  • Oh no!!! You didn't mean that. You are soooo anti-Japanese my friend. (and compostable)

  • Compostable??? Aren't we all? Actually, I'm anti cruelty, not anti Japanese, I find their men sexy as hell (the enlightened ones, that is).

  • I have a question for you. Would you not buy a hybrid vehicle from japan and help to cut down on emissions? have you ever played a video game? what kind of tv do you have? what kind of computer monitor do you have? there are many technologies that come from there too! uh ohs! good luck with your boycott

  • Do you for some reason believe that I am a pro whale killer? I am for animal rights. I am for taking care of the environment and preserving nature. By reading your profile, I see that you are anti-japan and boycotting anything japanese related due to the whaling. Also due to the right-wing politicians. Therefore you boycott buying anything that has come from japan.

  • KEEP SPEAKING OUT the Truth. The truth will set the whales Free one day!. GREAT JOB!

Every life saved is a victory.

    Love the editing work.

  • finnally some japaneese who care for the environment

  • I'm talking about some more Japaneese who actually care about the whales ok. So watch your language and stop having a meltdown over 1 comment. Makes you sound like a four year old.P.S. im not trying 2 be a stereotype srry for that.

  • What do you mean?

  • I'm not sure which is more shocking: the fact that they're still using whaling ships, or the way they insult the world's intelligence by claiming their hunts are for scientific purposes.

  • As much as I detest greenpeace, they MIGHT have a point. What is the other side of this story though? How did they get their evidence and is their evidence comprimised by the way they obtained it (fake evidence)?

  • dont use money cancers on it

  • i dont get it

  • Who said that, Why?

  • and I thought that the japanese government had became more rational after WWII

  • if worry about meat from whales then worry about all living animals we consume, eat.

  • typical secrecy of the greedy in private and public sectors.

  • if you wish to help, pleas sign the petition on greenpeace site and if you can try to convince other people to do the same

  • Japan better really get with the environmental program. They sign every agreement in regard to climate change; But when it comes to whaling--specifically illegally whaling, nothing will stop them. And this country does not consider the problem significant enough for any kind of action. Greenpeace is back in business. Excellent work. Brave work. Real Knights before the greedy plunge the world into a dark age. five stars!

  • Shame Japan Gov. SHAME!

    Fuck your corruption!

  • I still do not understand why the Whalers aren't in custody when the evidence has been revealed.

  • let them free!

  • Damn LMAO Dat Has 2 B Illegal Wheres Da Petition ?

  • Whaling is a crime !

  • I don't know which side is "correct", but as an critical issue, this should be widely known by more Japanese people. So if you can make a Japanese subtitled version of this video, that will be better, I think.

  • perhaps you would be well qualified to make the subtitles.

  • whatever the people say or might have issues about...the fact that a real footage of a whale being hooked and pulled onto the ship in such a bloody way is enough reason for me to put my signature on the petition. No more argument.

  • this is really sad!!! SAVE THE WHALES!!! go to my page!: )

  • What are you talking about?

Peaceful marches, rallies, demonstrations, boycotts are people's right to expression of freedom.

To think otherwise proves the deep desire to dominate others. These people are intolerant, they like to undermine everything that they can't understand and are not able to consider they can be wrong even for a second. They show unrespectful attitude for the birth rights of others, sympathy to communism and inadequate knowledge or disbelief to democracy.

  • How educated selection of words accompanied with:

" Don't put words into my mouth, bith "

proves your real level to me.

  • 200.000 signed petitions. Whoo hoo!!!

My signature is one of them.

  • hex99jojo really has to watch less PropagandaBuster.

  • Let them go free and stop killing our whales NOW!

  • PLEASE sign the petition!!

    WE CAN make a difference!!

  • Someday when there are no more whales and we are having problems with the earth ... because they are here for a reason to balance our earth. We will realize how important this is to stop this killing It must stop DEMAND and you will get. WE did it in 1971 we'll do it again.

  • There you can see once more how far people are willing to go for money! They have NO respect for nature, for animals, for this planet and even for other people!

  • Please sign the petition! It CAN make a difference!

  • oh my goodness its fraud and commercialised corrupt through japanese governments!!!! they are so bad!

release these great men for standing up for the whales! they are good

    SIGN THE PETITION!!!!!

  • I can't believe this :/

God I hate how greed ruins the world in so many ways

  • I've already written to the Japanese authorities and would encourage other people to do the same.
