  • No words to explain how awesome this is :) Thanks alot :)

  • Hey, Hamid!

THANK YOU for the enlightenment! Indeed you are GREAT guy! You inspire me very very much to Scrum! AGAIN - VERY VERY WELL DONE! KEEP THE GREAT SPIRIT!

    Respect,

    Mitra

  • I thought this was a rugby scrum! lol

  • Great presentation: clear and fast, just how I like it. I'm ready for it, let the projects come...

  • Cool! Great presentation.

  • Excellent presenation.

  • I think the worst part about Scrum is how you made those guys work on Christmas.

  • Great video...clear, concise and entertaining

  • thanks! the video was interesting with a good use of graphics and kept my attention.

  • goof for the company but the employees become workants

  • Project manager != scrumMaster

  • Hi I am new to Scrum. And I saw your video as a first step in exploration of the methodology. I like it in the way it has summarized in just 10 minutes without beating around the bush.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Hi,

I felt gr8 to see this video. This explains all the concepts of Scrum and makes an individual familiar with Scrum Agile Development.

    Thanks for sharing it

  • very, very good presentation!

  • Very good job, thank You!

  • Brilliant!

  • Wow, great presentation.

  • A very good and instructive - to the core, video on the Scrum concept! :-)

  • great video!

  • Great video and straight to the point.

  • Good video! straight to the point

  • u have shown the urgency in agile in the videos theme - awesome !

  • Get out of my left ear.

  • Very good video

  • Brilliant, I will be sending this to the mailing list in my organisation

  • Good video..thanks.

  • Excellent presentation! I would add some hints about Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective..

  • very handy!

  • really useful

  • what about the inclusion of the owner?

  • I was with you... until you mentioned: "I wouldn't call the stand-up meetings a core practice of Scrum". That hurt.

Two major reasons to do the daily stand-ups: Team stays informed about who does/did what, (this avoids double work and improves knowledge of the innards of the project), and, most of all: what impediments were present, and how to avoid them in the future. "Inspect and adapt" is a core practice in Scrum.

"The Agile Manifesto and Twelve Principles".

    Nice graphics, though.

  • you did a great job... thanks for making me understand what agile methodology us... I hope you will come up with similar short videos on different methodologies

  • Nice Video...

  • Excellent video.

  • Thanks to this video I got the best grade on my Software Engineering course XD

  • Good crash course. liked it.

  • Good Video, thank you for making

  • one of the perfect video (safe.kalpa@gmail.com)

  • Great video learnt a lot ! Thanks for taking your time !!

    Ivan

  • Great. Another project management system to learn. This is like the fifth one this year. WTF. I'll think I'll stick to "make", "rcs" and a little custom programming to get our projects out. It's been working for 30 years.... :)

  • Very good explanation. Thanks.

  • so am i the only one that thought this was a rugby video?

  • This is an excellent and detail explanation of Scrum, Thanks Hamid

@mberteig he never said that Scrum Master IS the PM, he said it's sort of like the PM and explained the differences, You should listen to it at your own speed since he also mentions that it's fast paced.

  • @jyekrang

He says the Scrum Master is "essentially a Project Manager, but that's such a boring title. So we'll call him a Scrum Master to imply he knows some Jiu-jitsu." So, yes, he basically said Project Manager = Scrum Master. See: 1:32.

  • Scrum in a nutshell THANKS!!!!

  • Now I know scrum :D thanks man.

  • This is a terrible description of Scrum. I'm a Certified Scrum Trainer and there are many incorrect statements and omissions about Scrum. For example, a ScrumMaster is _not_ a project manager. In fact, the two roles are very different and in Scrum there is no such thing as a project manager. One of the main differences is that a ScrumMaster must help a team self-organize whereas a project manager often assigns tasks (this is the opposite of self-organizing).

  • @mberteig do a video like he's done and explain it better :)

  • @mberteig Aren't you bound to say that as a certified scrum trainer :) Shame you can't post a training video onn here and get everyone to pay £500 to view it ;)

  • Great explanatory style...not involved in this industry at all but found myself engrossed in watching the presentation. Well done!

  • @Asqjoe I think the methodology could potentially be applied to other sectors as well as IT which is where it's most common.

  • So that's how it's done. Excellent video, going to start using it immediately and will recommend to others. Thank you Hamid. :)

  • Great video!!!

  • Great Video indeed, well presented. Yes i will recommend this to my colleagues.

  • Great video

  • I'm in the semiconductor business and I plan the back end CAD and PG process for large, core and spin IC (chip) projects. I actually think I can adapt some of this methodology into how I track my layout team/progress and defect backlog. I can draw quite a few parallels between software/hardware development cycles , if one has an open mind and some creativity--- thanks great stuff!

  • braindead...................

  • For the past 16 years I've been a technical trainer and am also an enterprise architect; so from a presentation point of view I'd like to say that you did a great job! And you also did a great job in condensing technical terms into non-technical concepts, while keeping the topic interesting. Outstanding!

  • Great Video, very informative! and to the point

  • Hi I'm from Sweden studing to be an It manager and we just read about scrum, your way of explaining it it's so much more cool. I will recomend to all my friends!!

    Great work

    Regards

    Robin

  • When do you put the bloody ball in?????>?

  • nice on...thumbs up!

  • People who are criticizing the presenter are in wrong place to begin with. This video is not for you. I am a PMP and I wanted to know about this methodology, and I got it in ten minutes. If you know anything about PM, you will know what he is talking about, otherwise go watch something else.

  • I completely disagree with how he showed few of the things there. A Scrum Master is absolutely NOTHING like a project manager, the fact that he mentioned that we just wanted to have a cooler name removes all the credibility. Also, there are no roles like testers in the Scrum, in general it's well explained the guidelines of Scrum but I don't think he truly understand the principles behind it.

  • How come this video is 8 minutes long? o.o

  • @Beazice It says under 10 minutes.

Anyvay: This is incredibly informative. Awesome.

  • @CSDragon31 Yes, but they could've named it in Under 8 Minutes instead?

  • @Beazice it's not under 8 minutes though. It's exactly 8 minutes.

The biggest question: Does it really matter? It's a good vid.

  • good condensed form of scrum in 10 mins

  • seems pretty much like what everyone with a bit of common sense does except for the silly terminology and idiotic standup meetings

  • @clray123 Also except for the idiotic sprint at the start of a new R&D project.

We're going to build a new car. Or, we're looking into using a new Intel i7 processor for some hardware. Have a first sprint working prototype in 4-6 weeks.

    Good luck with that....

  • sprint sprint sprint until, oops, the architecture is all wrong! Time to sloooowly rearchitect.

  • @jolifam77 Ha

  • programming dash

    motherfucker

    d com

  • you tease. This has nothing to do with rugby! Lol

  • GREAT! You should make more videos on Project Management

  • Great video mate, short sharp and snappy with heaps of clearly explained info.

Well done and of course - many thanks for sharing your knowledge.

  • RUGBY JUST BECAME EVEN MORE CONFUSING !! FUCK !

  • great video! but the sound is too far on the left side.

  • Scrum in a nutshell! Good job :)

  • Brilliant video!!! Really, really worthwhile. Makes this really dry subject very interesting! Bravo!!!

  • Best Scrum video ever!!! Almost all the important concepts are covered...hats off.

  • 52 people still use waterfall xD

  • Nice thanks for brief idea about scrum

  • brilliant :)

  • All I hear is "Backlog".

  • Well-done -- not a wasted word, very clear. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much, i just started with agile scrum development course and this was a great help thank you so much

  • Excellent job - this is very well done.

  • Not sure how I got here O_O

  • great Video. Thanks

  • Check out free SCRUM templates at Google Docs. In Google Docs, click Open from templates and search for SCRUM.. It simplifies SCRUM implementation.

  • I think it's crazy that there are no good scrum apps. The excel spreadsheets I see going around are useless. Isn't there something where I can turn my entire browser screen into a white board covered in post-its and switch to a burn down view, etc?

  • there is a good scrum app link towards the end of the vid

  • @aaronlloydpeterson there are many such tools. I personally can suggest Agilo, also Scrumwise looks very nice (still in beta). Others would be Pangoscrum, AgileZen, Tinypm, ThoughtWorks Studios, VersionOne, ScrumWorks Pro and Banana Scrum.

  • I thought there was more to it :) Great Video.....

  • This is fraking awesome. Thank you.

  • Great video! Very well explained. Great video presenstation too, may i know what video editor did you use in this presentation? :D

  • SLURM!

  • I just wana impress my dad...

  • Fantastic explanation !!! Well Done

  • Good one... simple and sweet.. get to know more in just 10 mins

  • Super awesome Informative!

  • Uh, techwizization ... I think Hamid's point was that we should focus on the core principles of Scrum and not got too worked up over the ceremonies and rituals. If you have a high-performing team operates according to basic Scrum principles, the team ought to have a bit of latitude. Some teams choose to meet less often or to relax meeting constraints. I favor delivering the goods over dogma.

  • good marketing, poor content

  • Excellent work, lots of information in such little time. Keep it up, thank you.

  • Great video, the repetition re-inforces the concept. Well done and thanks for sharing.

  • Go around in circles much? You could of done this in half the time if you didn't say the same thing like 10 times.

  • Check your facts mate! SCRUM Master has nothing to do with being a project manager. It's often the case that the project manager IS the SCRUM Master, but it's not always the other way around. And daily standup meetings are not essential? Have you ever been been to a SCRUM meeting in your entire life?

  • Very informative in short amount of time.

  • Really a great presentation. Very clear... Keep it up. Expecting something more :)

  • uhm... this video is awesome! i didnt quite get everything in school, we had a scrum project and everything but it clearly wasnt the same as you described it in the video. our project should have had a real scrum master.

  • great video.

  • Thank you for this video.

  • A little bit fast, but it general, it is so good and atractive. Thanks for sharing

  • This is an excellent video. Concepts clearly & concisely delivered. And, in less than 10 minutes. Thank You.

  • Awesome presentation. Amazing how terminology changes based upon being bored with the old stadard. Project Management is now SCRUM.

  • Wth is this..?

  • Thanks! great presentation - informative and easy to follow!

  • Thank you so much, i'm so interested in this.

  • Salam Hamid, great video. I think you did a great job explaining the Scrum process. What software did you use to create your video? I am looking for a software to create a video with animation similar to what you have done here.

    Regards,

    Shahram Hafezipour

  • good one in 10 minutes!!

  • Himid, you have done an excellent work. It's very clear and concise. Thank you so much.

  • The video is well done.

Though I have one question: What if we want to add a new feature (very important one) after the sprint has started and everything is already scheduled?

  • "daily standup meetings are not a core or essential part of scrum"

Really?! Are you f*ing retarded? Why do you think the daily stand up meetings are called SCRUMS?!

  • When did micro-managing become a good thing? You owe me 8:00 minutes of my life back.

  • The way you give information is really impressive!

  • top tutorial, very easy to follow. Thanks.

  • Excellent material on scrum great work!

  • An awesome quick tutorial. Thanks!!!

  • Awesome quick tutorial. Thank you!

  • great video! Thanks a lot! Loved it!

  • great video!

  • Great! Tx!

  • thats really awesome! great presentation and you are really great. Thanks.

  • 8 minutes including 1 minute for the review. Goddamn, you are a genius, man. It always makes me feel great when I see such remarkable efficiency.

  • Nice video on SCRUM , well done Hamid

  • Just the same way everyone runs a project, except we sit down in meetings and don't use ludicrous, kindergarten-style titles.

  • love the video! Thanks man!

  • Great Hamid, amazing video! Thanks a lot!

  • One of the Best !!

  • Fucking great video.

  • I came here thinking it was SCUMM for developing adventure games like Monkey Island and the like.

  • I wish we had teachers like you at our school. maybe I wouldn't detest the whole softwaredevelopment-stuff so much, if we did.

  • great presentation....

  • I thought it was great. Today was my first day to discover the SCRUM methodology. I've been doing some research and became familiar with the terms prior to watching your video and your summary comfirmed my understanding -- in 10 MINUTES!

  • Learned a lot, well done!

  • Very clear, short and useful video!

  • You're a master I have to say. However it is not right to stick with what you know already... Should improve continuously! Did that sound managerial or what? :)

  • Really an Impressive and Informative Work. I have seen your product video too - its awesome - keep it up guys !!!

  • Excellent overview!

  • amazing video. I was just checking on a few company's websites and noticed that the term SCRUM appeared almost everywhere. Now I know what the fuss is about.

  • i thought it was rugby scrums

  • @GR3NAD3S

I'm pretty sure that's where it got its name.

  • This is one of the best presentation on SCRUM that I have ever seen and hope to see something more. Good job ..

  • Excellent video - will really help in my exam! Thanks :-)

  • Awesome video, well done

  • Awesome job.

    Fun and educational

  • Very good job!

  • Really Nice work...

  • Excellent work!!! Great Job..

  • this video is great! thanks a lot for sharing...

Still, i do have a question. Somehow I have the impression that scrums assumes that the team members are 100% committed for the product.

My question is about resource management, and how to implement scrum in organizations where my team members are not there just for MY project? a Solution architect or business engineer, is there for 3 to 4 different projects. Maybe there is a short answer where I can say "AHA!" :-)

  • This is one of the best, most concise, elucidating videos that I have ever seen. From a production perspective it is fantastic, clear explanations, catchy graphics, logical progression, and nice summary. Congratulations. I would like to see more.

  • Great video, but slightly confused.. Is the order of backlogs: Product Backlog, Release Backlog and then Sprint Backlog? Our lecturer seems to have completely ignored the release backlog?

  • Great video, but slightly confused.. Is the order of backlogs: Product Backlog, Release Backlog and then Sprint Backlog? Our lecturer seems to have completely ignored the release backlog?

  • Amazingly informative - bravo!

  • congratulation! very nice video. tks.

  • You have a pleasant voice and good presentation skills. You should use it for your job.

  • Excellent presentation...definitely explains SCRUM in the best possible way ...

  • Very nice work! Congratulations!!!

  • Fantastic video.

  • This video is amazing... I have recommended one of Axosoft management system tool "OnTime" to the company where i work and we have decided to buy and start with this amazing tool

  • Great video! Really informative and concise.

  • Very good video... Thanks for sharing...

  • Amazing! Great presentation. So much information in such a short time. Very engaging video. Thanks Hamid!
