It would have helped if the wall was actually an enclosure! Doesn't help much when a bright spark like Genghis Khan decides that its too tough to break through so lets just walk around it!
Yeah; I have the same problem. I miss the videos the most; music the second. I never cared for the "heralds" and the high coucil was only cool the first few times.
Mmm; very similar to indentured labour throughout the world; including the slaves in the US (in the past of course). I know there's essential-slavery going on in sugar cane produciton but I dunno if they're treated as expendable or not. Anyway; was just trying to ... umm... spread the spotlight to other places as well. I just mean it isn't fair to focus solely on China as so many news agencies like to do.
I forget the name but there was a short-lived dynasty in China that built two 'great' things; the Terracotta Warriors and something else... anyway; they were certainly harsh on their people. But that's by contrast with the other dynasties. Mmm isn't it funny how the "great" moments in history tend to be those with a great deal of suffering.
@GmanZombie But c'mon, man, they were securing their borders. Too many barbarians have crossed and they don't speak good Chinese or not at all. You can barely get any Chinese food at the "ride-thru".
It's even worse when the barbarians come as cheap labor for Chinese employers, while the Chinese government includes them as ordinary welfare recipients. Something had to be done.
We should do this to Mexico.

The music makes it sound like some nog infested jungle. They could have chosen a more authentic sounding one quite easily.

In fact, the Great Wall of China isn't part of the real Seven Wonders of Antiquity
Helliconian 3 years ago
then again, the Seven Wonders of Antiquity is something the ancient greeks cooked up to make them feel special.
Most of the "wonders" are made by greeks, with the exception of the gardens, the pyramids and maybe the lighthouse.

Didn't much help the Chinese against 'barbarians' in r/l.

Yeah really, and just think of all the wasted lives spent to build this thing. I mean its impressive, but they literally worked until they died.
