Funny you should say that., it was WAY better than i thought it would be.

They also included the Arcade version 1 , splatterhouse 2 and 3 as unlockables.

I was blown away as Rick entered the room cracking his knuckles to fight a boss and the mask quoting "lets show them why we call this splatterhouse" then Lamb Of God's "walk with me in hell starting up in the background.. priceless.

Yeah the characters and setting and all that junk looks unique but for me a game is all about how fun and unique the GAMEPLAY is. The game can have the shittiest graphics ever but if it is fun, I'm in. HOWEVER, as far as gameplay goes this looks like a game we have all played a million times. I am going to stick to the original splatterhouse, I am not having good feelings about this one.

Splatterhouse was an ARCADE Original Horror Sidescroller from the late 80s early 90s and port to PC and Sega. The game predates any garbage that you consider "Good games" by today's standards.

@Psquit Looking like Jason was the point, since the game paid homage to different horror movies throughout the levels (for example Evil Dead 2, Friday the 13th..).

This looks like the original concept was twisted and made to appeal to a younger audience that would more likely know what Devil May Cry is than horror movies from the 80's that served as inspiration to the original. Why do you care about his girlfriend's dress?

I like the fact that if ANYONE tries to put out an action/adventure "Beat'em up".. everyone says.. "God Of War Clone!!".. and dismisses any potential the game has. Why don't we wait till we get our hands on it.. THEN make our judgements.

Plus this series existed WAY BEFORE God Of War did (back from '89 to '93). And how can it be a ripoff of GOW when GOW ITSELF is a ripoff off of Rygar? Seriously, look at some gameplay vids of the PS2 version of Rygar: The Legendary Adventure on this site.

Doesn't look too much like Splatterhouse anymore. I see lots of generic outdoor and warehouse settings. Where's the creepy, claustrophobic mansion? And what's with the gigantic boss fights? You could replace Rick with any other character model and you'd have yet another typical GoW style nextgen game. Some classics are better left alone.
