They give old people social security, the old age protection the corporations refused to do. They brought an end to private police forces brutally beating factory workers into submission and forcing them back to work for 12-18 hours a day, 7 days a week. Modern socialism tries to restore the balance that agrarian capitalism had prior to the industrial revolution.

So, they already embezzled from the workers. How is redistributing inappropriately obtained excesses theft?

Arguing "equality" in the conception process as opposed to socio-economic and access to opportunities equality is simply a rhetorical device to deny social inequality and social injustice.

No one is 'equal' because we construct societies and groups that favors certain talents and capabilities over others. That doesn't mean I want any harm done to the less capable but the belief that people are created equal is delusional, feels nice and I wish it where true but nature is cruel. We need to build a society that can actually fix problems, not further them.

You are created equally, as all people are concieved in the same way. But a child born into poverty is not equal to someone born into wealth.
