nice , i was hoping this was the same as the nillson version i am familiar with . why is it so few folks know who he was? harry was the top vocalist imo . mike pattons got nothin on him .
@peteytwofinger I think that Harry is great, and so is Mike. Have you ever checked out Mike Patton on iTunes? see 'adult sounds" I think. All sorts of sounds made with his voice, entertaining, yet disturbing.. in a good way!
I've always loved Nilsson's version of this. Until tonight, I'd never heard of Louis Jordan. My response: I LOVE IT!! What film is this from? Thanks for a great post!
Yes. Very beautiful, brilliant soloing, on saxophone, and both saxophone & piano on the record. Louis Jordan is surely one of the "Top 10" greatest popular music performers of all time. Maybe among all "Top 10" performers PERIOD - I can't think of a single reason why he wouldn't be. [Of course I know virtually nothing about Jazz, so maybe others could help clarify/qualify that, 'cept I'd include Satchmo, too.]

Louis Jordan remains one of my favourite artists of all time. Musical genius with a great sense of humour. That's what I like!
