Arx fatalis would've looked even more realistic than it allready is if the whole areas were in surface. But I guess the whole underground thing enchances the gaeplay :D

Its a shame theres no real reward for finding a path to the surface- all the way through the game I was expecting some kind of treck to another city/cave network through the arctic wastes- i was realy disapointed. when I heard of this secret I at least hoped for a small outside area to explore, even if it was tiny it would be cool.

actually i was able, it took some editing

I used arxpak viewer to open the main

file and locate the name of the key

there is one variable that said

"SET_STEAL 100" (100 means it's impossible)

so I changed it to 50 and now I dont have to

kill the king

KEY_BASE_21, KEY_BASE_57, KEY_BASE_71 (I modified all of them)

and it's directory inside the "graph" pak

file is obj3d/interactive/items/quest_­item/ key_base/[one of those keys]

If you go through with passwall, there is nothing. They did not make anithing further that door. So no models, just big black everithing.

Well, if they wouldn't have made that dark masisa or whatever mesiah thingy, they canceled Arx Fatalis II for that not worthy of calling RPG piece of shit, i mean, its just a piece of rotting shit, if you ask me, dark mesiah was just a waste of time to all gamers, instead of a sequel to a great game like Arx, the made that.

75% of the internet say dark masiah was a waste of time and they are right, Arx 2 should have been made. If i could go back in time i would kill the one with the dark M idea

Well, I have to agree about Dark Messiah. If that is the sequel to Arx fatalis, then it is poor. Truely, I can see some similarities, as the goblins are the same as in Arx, but there is absolutely no story of that game. It only took me 2 days to finish it. The combat thingy is nice, but thats all. I'm really dissapointed in Arkane studios. Its a "filling game", something RPG like to calm us, Arx fans...

Well if you ask me its more like a FPS, the only good points about it is the combat and the physics, you know what i mean? like when a man falls dead he doesn't fall only in one position, like in arx, he falls dynamic dependin on how hard you hit him and where you hit him, just like in Oblivion

I pickpocked lunshire to get the key and they said equip krahoz and zohark in order to withstand the cold or get high resistance that what the level 0 is when you check your maps.

Well, there is no use of surviving that cold shock thingy, because there is nothing outside, its not programmed, so even if you evade that cold, you cannot go anywhere further.

NOT true. If you use a certain cheat, and get 5000 stat points, use them all on Const, you CAN survive it. I've done it. But beyond the door, theres nothing. Its just a very small cavern and if you walk beyond it, you're out of the map. :(

have u tried to use flyng eye spell or scroll when your near teh door(even if u dont have the key) the eye will be summoned to the other side of the door

its no big deal in there

Outside is nothing, at least on the xbox version of the game. I used a bunch of cheats to get out there, and it is just unmapped darkness. Kind of sad, I was hoping for some kind of reward for all the time it took me to get out...

I remember spending ages looking for a way to get in there, eventually killed the king to get it, and then just got frozen. Was funny though. I wonder how those guys who travel to other cities survive that. The door must have some enchantment on it to keep the cold out when closed.

I hope they make a sequel, there was nothing quite like it.

well, I bought dark Messiah, and it is not even close to Arx fatalis, or any rpg games. It is like any FPS, with a sword and a bow. Oh and a little magic:) It took me only two days to finish the game ( dark messiah )

But the ending remindes me of Arx Fatalis, because the ending is a PIECE OF SHIT! You play with the game ( both Arx F. and Dark M. ) and then it finishes with a little video and thats it.

I never called it that, I just said that in Arx we have a big map we can go everywhere, but in Dark Messiah we can always go one way. It's like... Doom3:P

So it is indeed fun, but there are no puzzles in it. I finished it in two days.
