  • its such a good song, it would be hard to mess up. always interesting to hear other versions.

  • LOVE THIS!

  • superbe version rien a voir avec les chansons de maintenant wonderful

  • que voz linda!!!

  • great vesion!

  • I thought Candi Staton did this rendition of this song...

Oh well, I guess I was wrong.

  • I believe this is Candi Staton ...NOT Dionne Warwick.

  • @stealthman56 IT SAYS .DEE DEE WARWICK...NOT DION...

  • Thanks!

  • The Warrick (AKA Warwick) family should be named "National Teasures" With Dionne and DeeDee at the top of the list.

  • AWESOME

  • Sounds great !!!

  • I LIKE CANDI STANTON VERSION OF THIS SONG...BUT THE SONG ALONG.. NO MATTER WHO SINGS IT..IS A VERY NICE SONG

  • yea but i heard whitney's back on crack. i guess you can leave the dirty jersey, but the dirty jersey will never never leave you

  • I,M SPEECHLESS....I thought candi statons version was the difinitive one....I was wrong

  • I never knew this version but I think it is amazing.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • I think Elvis may have met his match on this song .... and, prior to hearing this version, I wouldn't have thought that possible.

  • @Readb4uvote lol elvis love her singing this song the way her voice sounded with all that power

    i read something like that

  • @Readb4uvote what a pathetic statement!!she sounds great and is a different rendition, but the Elvis original not the live version is actually more soulful than this version the swet insperations are on it and was number one on the R&B charts as well as No 1 in casey casums top 40.Elvis was way ahead of his time on this one for sure.

  • @stratojamesnz Apparently you're not as much of an Elvis authority as you'd like to think. If you were, you'd know the Sweet Inspirations did NOT sing on the original studio recording of "Suspicious Minds". Check your facts, moron. While I love Elvis' music, unlike many Elvis fans, I am able to expand my horizons beyond the "Elvis Bubble" and appreciate other artists. Your opinion isn't accepted as the gospel - idiot.

  • @Readb4uvote You need to look this up Dummy....not accepting your comments cause you sound very ignorant and on your period, not just a fan but a full time touring and recording entertainer,if your not on your period then you are stait up stupid,Pellick!!!

  • @Readb4uvote this is very true when they recored they wasnt on it they might have sing it with elvis in the background on concert i have met one of elvis sweets estell brown she come out to vegas every elvis week and we always talk about the good old days

  • @stratojamesnz Presley version was not on R&B chart. Warwick version was #24 R&b. No way is Presley version more soulful than Warwick version.

  • Lovely

  • I used to play this in my days as a DJ in nightclubs during the 70s here in the UK, it IS the best version of the song, just a shame Dee Dee is no longer with us to sing it live.

  • Sterlito - This song is as cool as ever. You remain even cooler.

  • you're right she does sound like j hudson

  • She sounds like Jennifer Hudson, or JHud sounds like her. :)

  • @masinindy Jennifer Hudson wishes she sounded this good... check her version of Sam and Dave's (or vice versa) "everybody has to believe in somebody"

  • @masinindy Hudson wishes she sounded this good-lol. Hudson is a screamer, a lot of raw talent... but no schoolin'. Btw thought the same thing when I first heard DeDe Warrick. Check her version of Sam and Dave's "Everybody has to believe in somebody" I cannot think of a better sung song and my catalog is diesel!

  • Her voice was better than her sister Dionne!

  • I usually don't like soul singers, but I definitely like this. So much passion..

  • Wonderful version! Just thought of her today because it was 2 years ago to the day she passed on.

  • I live in the same apt house as dee, she had the top floor in east orange.. there was a song i liked .. i think it was called Boy don't come.. can some one post it please.. thanks

  • I live in the same apt house as dee, she had the top floor in east orange.. there was a song i like .. i think it was called Boy don't come.. can some one post it please.. thanks

  • Love her voice. Never heard any of her songs before now, except for Foolish Fool. Which I remember hearing when I was in high school. Love her voice, so much different from Dionne's. Beautiful!!!

  • very good version

  • WOW! Thank you for posting. Instant puchase for me! Now I need to go and discover the rest of Dee Dee's stuff.

  • Powerful voice like Cissy Houston. I Love It!

  • wow i have the 45 from my mothers collection

  • great i like this song,, just she sings it better the elvis

  • Great, I was looking for this song for months...

  • Wow absolutely loved it. Out of the versions I've heard of Elvis and Candi Staton, this is the best for me. Going to have a look for Dee Dee's cds :)

  • @Westwoodorama i didn't care for Elvis's version at all. Dee Dee's was the best. Even Candi's with her phenomenal voice still paled in comparison.

  • Oh man I love this version, what a strong voice!!!!! RIP Dee Dee we miss you much

  • wow

  • Hey, I think this actually a great version of Suspicious Minds!

  • I love Dione, her class, her voice, her style. But Dee Dee was just amazing!!!! what a pretty and powerful voice! makes me remind whitney!

  • this is Whitney Houston's cousin.

  • She certainly gives Elvis a run for the money. Great sound, powerful and soothing.

  • I had a friend who loved this song, best damn version, Elvis just impersonated it, and I don't give a damn who gets annoyed because I point this out. Dee Dee was talented and we shall miss her. RIP Dionne.

  • I'm very tempted to say that this is the definitive version! It rocks!

  • Absolutely great cover. Very different from Elvis's original but just as fab.

  • u mean Dee Dee does remakes.. She recorded and released this song while Elvis' was #1 on the charts. she's covering elvis' version, not the other way around...

  • greatest hits

  • This is who influence Whitney Houston the most

  • Oh my goodness, I did not know she did the original version of this song. Elvis really did record remakes. She sounds great, however, Elvis version gets more air play. It is interesting finding out how many songs were originally done and remade. The research is phenominal.

  • why don't you google 'suspicious minds' and this will tell you the story behind this cool tune. elvis recorded the song first before she did hers according to wikipedia. cya!

  • Why dont you Google Elvis hairy nuts?

  • @chillysardine hahaha!!!

  • Research how to spell phenomenal

  • U mean Dee Dee records remakes. She recorded and released this song as Elvis' version was already #1 on the charts.. She remaking Elvis' version, not the other way around... its amazing how these falsehoods get started

  • @fatmnkypants

But Even Elvis's version is not the original. The original version was recorded by it's writer, Mark James

  • @cmulwee001 Technically true- Mark James recorded it as a demo which is how songwriters would present the song to the singer like Elvis- Chips Moman of American the producer and publisher liked it so much they put it out as a record for the heck of it, but it sold next to nothing. When Elvis went to record at American a few months later- James and Chips presented it to Elvis and he recorded it- and it became historic. James went on to write several songs for Elvis.

  • @fatmnkypants The James version was just a novelty- he was a songwriter and decided to put out his own song for once. Elvis's was the known version, and these other artists like DeeDee were coverning him-- not James..

There's nothing wrong with covering him- he covered many many singers, and many singers covered him- that was the way the industry worked at that time.

  • Very good ! and I like the pictures, Thanks !

  • beautiful version, someone knows what year is it?

  • well I'll be damm, you learn something new everyday, I didnt even know Dionne had a sister?

but I've certainly heard her before

  • I spent a day with Dee Dee in Atlantic City, NJ in 1980 and she told me that years before she had been "down south" and a "gas station owner" showed her a cassette tape he was selling in his shop that had various artists and one of the songs on it was SUSPICIOUS MINDS by Dee Dee Warwick.

  • My son has S O U L !!!

    I love you Sterling.

    Dad

  • got this on 7inch no turntable to play it so love to hear thanks

  • I love this version. That's some mighty fine singing!

  • Que bela voz!!!

  • i remember my mother playing this one --years ago..and she still has the 45, albeit scratched up, of course

  • @sexymama1966 Your mother too ? LOL..... Mine too I can still see that label spinning around ... She still listens to it at least twice a week but she's gone digital now ... so it's on the itunes playlist haahaha.....

  • Magnificent song, your Dad has fantastic taste !

  • First time hearing this by her, and I love it.

  • that family is so full of talent!!

  • Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, My favorite soul singer it doesn't get better thatn her. The most pure soul voice I've ever heard and thats saying something. She just came along during that had so many great singers. Some how think she should have been bigger than she was. RIP

  • @spike5353 yes she should been bigger right there up with Elvis!

  • Excellent cover- it sounds very 'Northern Soul'. Your dad has good taste ;)
