I built my machine three years ago with two of these in SLI and they were a year old then! My rig STILL plays most of the today's games on decent settings, with very acceptable frame rates. It's remarkable how SLI'ing two inexpensive cards (the Ultra's were $199 at the time), can give you years of gaming life.

well. under dx9/10 benchmark gts 450 was actually slower than gts 250 who was renamed of 9800gtx/8800gts 512 which was weaker than 8800 ultra. the reason gts 450 took advantage in the market was because of dx11 and tessellation. however its texture/pixel fill rate is too poor even match to 9800/8800gt. which in most of bench it's only at around 5670/9600gt's lvl if no tessellation and dx11 enable. gf100 fermi are generally not recommend as dx9/10 platform because of poor fillrate.

@aaz1992 Lol the GTX 580 is such a rediculous card- its core architecture is basically the same unified shader architecture that the first gen 8800GTX's used only with its stream processors tweaked and put on steroids to rip through mathematical shaders and physics like its butter. Nvidia and ATI's Unified Shader Architectures are different in the way they approach processing games, but the end results are almost the same.

Yeah, I think the GTS is slightly better. I wouldn't go for either imo. GTX 260 is just a little more and has alot more streaming processors and the extra RAM helps when turning filters on and playing GTA 4.

My brother got it a few weeks ago. I think his might be messed up because he gets 19fps average in Crysis at 1440x900 which is terrible for that card, I think. I just choose Nvidia because they're so reliable.

dont look at the number of streaming processors. there is this one Geforce 9800 card with 200 of them, and a radeon 4870 with 1600. and still the 9800 was better.
