  • YOU stupid moron .. SUBSTANCE abuse EXPERT ?... mike gimbel.. OBVIOUSLY doesn't know his job ,, LOOK at the SWISS model..

SUCCESSFUL.... & implemented around the world.

  • I'm already around drugs and don't do shit, making it legal wouldn't change me at all.

  • The point of legalising drugs is not necessarily to reduce the overall number of addicts it is to reduce the overall harm to society and uphold individual liberty.

That guy at the end doesn't understand the argument.

  • wow, what an idiot. Legalizing drugs won't satisfy addicts, therefore we shouldn't legalize them? How about the countless numbers of people negatively effected by the drug war who have never even seen a drug in their life from violence, family and friends being hurt from unsafe drugs, and trillions of their tax dollars being spent to only lead to a worse situation?

  • The opening statement implied alcohol is not a drug.

  • What all of these antiprohibitionists fail to say, the ninth amendment DEMANDS the end to prohibitions of all other intoxicants of any kind. They have enumerated the right of an intoxicating liquor, so as the ninth goes, all shall be our right to use.

  • @walenchi1

I prefer if every drug where legally regulated, but opium which contains morphine and codeine, can be used to make heroin, and other opiates, its 100% natural, it is just from literally slicing the seed-pod of a plant and drying the sap.

Cocaine is extremely easy to extract from the coca plant to.

  • @DrPsilocybin Drugs like marijuana, or psilocybiin are 100% natural, NOT heroin or cocaine, we humans had to fuck around and chemically change the structure of these plants. And NOONE can make heroin easily, it is not as simple as drying sap, it is a much more difficult process.

  • @adamdude58 you are a retard. opium has been used by humans since before the concept of "chemistry" was even realized.

  • just legalize marijuana! people go to hard drugs because of the black market stoners dont wanna do heroin or crack use all the money the FDA uses on marijuana prevention and put it towards other drugs that are actually a problem, marijuana is a realtively harmless thing

  • it's not a war on drugs

    it's a war on weed

  • 1:40 "The addicts will never be satisfied." So what? If you're an adult you're responsible for your actions. Even if you wanna kill yourselves by overdose that's still your business. Some people say legalize marijuana cuz it's not that addictive. Well I say legalize everything and let each one make his/her choice of taking or not.

  • You can't cure cancer by making cancer illegal and you can't cure drug addiction by making drugs illegal.

  • @anarkoFred

I disagree. When I am elected president of these United States, I plan to introduce a bill making it a crime to possess cancerous cells. If you are caught with cancer, you WILL go to jail.

  • @poonwoofer I guest it would reduce the waiting list in hospitals if applied in Canada. Might be a good policy ...

  • Not all drugs are addictive. The government really needs to stop scaring people

  • there's a truth in those words!!!

  • we need to start over,

and the perfect time for that is coming

    it is the 2nd coming

  • Prohibition creates addiction to black money, crime, corruption, and is an obvious threat on the very roots of democracy. Everyone suffer, directly or indirectly from prohibition. It is urgent to legalize all drugs. Then we can regulate each products in different ways. For example, opiates could be sold with medical prescriptions, and salvia divinorum (not addictive, not toxic) could be sold in the supermarket, if you want my opinion on this.

  • @BRUMARTUBE

Opiates currently are legally sold with medical prescriptions, and salvia is so legal it could be sold in supermarkets, even to kids, no one wants salvia though, its extremely terrifying and has no euphoria.

Ive known doctors that where literally drug dealers, if you knew him personally, you could go in there tell him what you want, and he would write the script, he would also fuck girls in exchange for prescriptions.

    Hes been convicted since then..

  • @DrPsilocybin Heroin is not legally sold. Countries which do that see the number of heroin users decrease. Salvia is my favorite medication. It is terrifying when done with too much high concentration, and actually it is terrifying only for those having some "certainty" on fundamental matter, or for those lying to themselves. I have done 888 experiences, all described in my salvia diary, and my life has improved on all matter. Corrupted doctors have to be prosecuted of course.

  • @BRUMARTUBE

Where did I say anything about diacetylmorphine specifically?

I said opiates, and theres a LONG list of Rx opiates available through prescription, morphine, hydrocodone, codeine, oxycodone, hydromorphone etc.

Salvia is a horrible drug, thats the bottom line, its a terrible drug that has no euphoria and just creates a 3 minute terrifying explosion in your brain, this is from my personal experience.

If you want real psych drugs start growing some mescaline cacti or shrooms.

  • @DrPsilocybin Thanks for replying. Actually, I grow cacti and shrooms since a long time. I appreciate their teaching, but, for me, nothing compared to my beloved salvia, which I grow too. The key with salvia consists in starting with the leaves and increment slowly the concentration, until you meet entities which judge if you are ready to go on 'the other side'. It has to be done in dark and silence. Have a good day.

  • it's really nice to see cops and authority types coming out to speak against the war on drugs. it shows who the real caring cops are and the dismissive, power mad cops are.

however, i'm not so sure about legalizing all drugs is really going to help. i'd say legalize the decent drugs, because as far as i have seen, meth, pcp, heroin and such, aren't exactly going to help much when legalized. the reason the counter argument works has a lot to do with what happened before they became illegal

  • however, the decent drugs like marijuana, shrooms, dmt should be legalized, but only for those who don't exhibit any particularly large and chronic psychological issues already. everyone has issues, but not everyone has schizophrenia or major phobias, etc. you put these people with any drugs that may amplify their problems and they can go ballistic. i think to end the war on drugs we really have to discuss stuff a little further instead of the simplistic and rash 'legalize it all'.

  • the reason it is simplistic is because we're trying to put the cart before the horse. we see the war on drugs isn't working, however, it is not necessarily true that legalizing all drugs now is going to be the default correct choice. what we need is the science to back up the reasons for legalizing this and that drugs. we already have that with marijuana because of how easy it is to see. in cali they basically have it legalized. it's a controlled legalization however. and i have a theory on it

  • and my theory is that it's possible the reason it got anywhere in california is that the scientists got in touch with the government and let them know to go ahead with the whole thing, as part of an open ended experiment to see what happens with people. i'm not saying that's what happened, but it could easily be used as such. instead of experimenting in an obvious scientific environment with volunteers, have them out in unknowing public. that's why there's the 'license' bit, to be a data point.

  • and to end my long bit of replies, i'll say that being a data point in some secretive experiment is unethical and blah blah...but what's wrong with being a data point that can help curb the scientific understanding for the benefit of legalizing drugs? and so it shall be, i suggest, to slowly scientifically evaluate opening up drugs to people now that we have the science background in other areas to more properly understand it than ever before. it's just not going to be overnight and encompassing

  • No maybe we wont get rid of the addiction...but we may SAVE THE FUCKING COUNTRY from gangs and foreign armies stationed here!!! The mexicans have over 200 sleeper cells armed to the teeth all the way up to Canada. Wake Up...if an addict wants to self destruct...Don't let it cost us the country...stupid fucking social services mentality. Some people can't be helped.

  • It's not about ending addiction, that's impossible. This is first and foremost an economic issue that mostly affects innocent tax payers. Legalize all drugs, don't regulate, just legalize!

  • the US would eventually go to hell in a handbasket

  • @OriolesMagicfan I don't know if you realize this but we're in a handbasket already and the US isn't the only ones in it. The same political and law enforcement officials that created this drug war, have the means and connections to plague the urban neighborhoods with drugs that lead to poverty, incarceration, and crime. And money for the criminal court system, and prison system. This fits the agenda of the elite who think there are too many people on earth anyway. Anyhoo, sorry about the rant..

  • For the record I'm not saying legalize everything. But we need to look deeper. There's a solution but the criminals in our government don't want one. They profit most when something is considered a "crisis".

  • yes there would be more money put into rehab, but that beats putting money into a prison system which turns part time users into hardened criminals. Many addicts would recover if given the option to go to rehab, gangs would have little to no income and disappear, the addicts that exist will lower their chances of STDs from sharing needles and people would be fully informed of what they are getting into before they considered trying drugs in the first place. Where's the hell?

  • No, no prohibition, and no govt sponsored rehab, addicts would kill themselves off in a tenth the time, and wouldnt have little junkie children to follow in their foot steps.

  • lol ur a douche.

  • Yeah, because the war on drugs and rehabilitation has just worked so well so far.

  • we're already on our way.

  • Agreed- to a point. Drug money is directly related to 90% of Baltimore's economy, That's why there is no real agenda of eliminating drugs; its big business. At the same time, i don't want to be at a restaurant with the person next to me nodding out and can't pay the bill. Needs to be in dispensaries like the california weed legalization, then maybe

  • @theshieldexposed your already with people who are high, just cuz its illegal doesnt mean people dont do it, theyre just not open about it. everyday youll run into atleast one person who is high if you go out in public

  • The drugs are illegal for 2 main reasons

#1 - So that the US intelligence agencies can fund their illegal, immoral operations.

#2 - Because of pharmaceutical company lobbying.

Bayer (you know - the aspirin folks) actually were the ones who INVENTED heroin!

If you legalize this stuff you will see an effect VERY SIMILAR to what happened when the alcohol prohibition was repealed.

But there are obviously folks who don't want that to occur.

  • I concur with him, drug on war is lost long ago.Just like alcohol back in the day smuggling translate into Corrpution, death, theft and every crime out there.Legalize it and just put some restrictions to it like alcohol and tabaco.

  • Did anyone catch when the reporter say "with the receding economy, the money argument seems to be the strongest appeal at this point ..." right after the guy said that ending the drug war would save lives?????????????? ...news. lol .... news people...

  • @tabletennistud The US gov cares a hell of a lot more about the money. sad but true

  • Good comments. I can only come to one conclusion. The politicians don't care. Not all, but enough that they create inertia.

Why else would they have such pathetic arguments with bad/ forced data and lies.

All to replace lost manufacturing jobs with prison related jobs. Best part is that they are largely pro-life.

  • great video

  • here piggy piggy

  • Search Youtube for HOW WEED WON THE WEST

    ...featuring Kyle Kazan of LEAP!

  • legalize everything

give free crack and herion to anyone who wants it, soon with a limitless supply most hard drug users will od and the problem will be solved

    after seeing this trend

kids wont want to do drugs anymore cuz its no longer rebelious, just stupid

  • and as for car wrecks u really think a crackhead is driving anywhere when theres a limitless supply of crack infront of em? (if u question this u have never done crack and ur better off for it) u may think its cruel but its far less cruel than what china did to stop opium (they would line up whole familys and shoot them in the back of there heads, kids too) oh and BTW it didnt work

  • Weigh it to any damage alcohol has done. Stop fighting and start uniting. People who get out of control deserve to be in jail or prison.

  • This is fucking bullshit...

More dead people and more car wrecks...

    Government is so stupid...

That will help health care give me a fucking break...

Now 15 trillion dollars in a hole...

  • Well, you won't get rid of addiction by Illegalizing drugs neither, premature fool!!

    Sophism all the way!

Who'd pointed a camera upon this child, anyway...?!?

  • legalize drugs. You will see real change for the good. There will not be anymore drug dealers on your corner. There will be less crimes. People are afraid that everyone will be a addict which is nonsense. Just because I can buy something doesnt mean im gonna buy it.

  • Right. I dont sit around getting drunk all day, just because i can.

  • And I sit around and get high all day, even though I can't.

The laws have no effect on drug use, all that they do is put people in jail.

  • Join leap folks ,, simply go to their website and sign up .. numbers count . They need us like we need them .

  • Fuck FOX news. Fair and balanced my ass. They don't even get into the heart of the issue.

  • lol omg! I said those exact three words when i as i was scrolling down to look at the comments.

    Fuck FOX news!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Really? Create a whole new level of addicts? Because when I last checked when alcohol prohibition ended the whole country didn't run out and become alcoholics. Check your history and you will see the future. Time for legalization.

  • Wow thank you faux news for this totally "balanced" report. Too bad you completely skipped out that legalizing drugs would nearly eliminate criminal gangs, relieve our overcrowded prisons of harmless stoners, allow drug addicts to seek therapy instead of being arrested, and thus save billions of dollars.

  • You forgot also that it would create loads of tax money, create a regulatory system for drugs that would make them safer, and let the government focus on more serious offenses that actually are detrimental to society....

  • exactly, I agree with buzwazfuz.. some people get addicted to ice cream.. the main issue here is cost, laws that do not work and a nation full of prisoners, and the ever stronger violent drug cartels.

wouldn't it be fun to wake up one day and find the cartels have lost usa as a customer? yes, out of all the drugs out there including legal pharmaceuticals, pot is the least of anyones problems..i think ice cream is more harmful to your heart and your ass!

  • your never going to stamp out adiction with illegalizing drugs. they made crack, heroin, meth much harder to get in the suburbs. so what do kids who can't get that do??? they snort aderol, rediline, use oxycotton, zanex, sniff paint. drug addiction is a social problem and we need to understand that. in my highchool its easier for me to buy weed than it is to get cigarettes. actually weed is the healthier choice, lol.

  • I really like what you guys at leap are doing, saying what needs to be said. It's about time logic was used in the u.s.'s drug policies.

  • agreed

  • Mike Gimbel is another ignorant retard flinging right wing conservative bullshit. He talks as if we are not a country of addicts anyways. Um, people who smoke cigs everyday are addicts, fat people who cant get enough of McDonalds are addicts, and people who need to have sex everyday are addicts. All of these old ignorant white people need too wake up. Old White People = "we're losing the country man". If your losing, who the fuck is winning, it aint us. - chris rock lol

  • Legalize Drugs

    1) Gangs will go bankrupt.

    2) violence will drmatically decrease.

    3) Economy will improve.

    4) rappers will have to find new material

    5) The government will save millions of dollars.

  • billions

  • "rappers need to find new material" LOL awesome

  • 6) ???

    7) Profit

  • I love this list! so true!

  • @holmesd5003 You win me with the fourth argument. I don't like rap music

  • @holmesd5003 rappers???? do those even exist anymore???

  • You can counter with, "But, 'most ppl' play the lottery responsibly."

OK, same with MMj, then. After almost 15 years using MMj, MOST people use MMj responsibly, too. We've already seen the proof. That with most ppl using MMj **responsibly** there have been next to nil problems, sick ppl, healthy ppl - both the same.

The *psychos* who think "society will be destroyed!" by Mj legalization are just that: PSYCHOS.

And, opinions of psychos should be 100% discredited, disounted and disqualified.

  • I can make an argument as to the lethal and life-threatening "danger" of... **playing the lottery.**

Man w/ a wife & 6 kids, barely breaking even $ mo-to-mo......... mortgages his house, empties his bank accts & maxes out w/ cash advances his credit cards, sells all material goods including clothes, cars, even the family dog.

Walks in, plunks down $xxxxxxxxx.00 on lottery tickets. Big draw... he loses.

Now he + his family starve to death!

Conclusion: BAN the LOTTERY - It's a health risk!!!

  • If the Q is, will the gov invest as much or more $ on "drug treatment," then YES, that is BY FAR a better solution than to lock up people who have disorders. YES, it is MUCH BETTER money spent to approach this issue as a HEALTH issue instead of a CRIMINAL issue.

ALL PEOPLE who think otherwise should be locked in a cage themselves for 5 yrs and see how THEY like it.

    iikkjslsjjiuhs

  • Exactly-so many ppl disagree with me, but the proof is in our faces. The sheep choose to except everything the GOV offers as the way it should be. Laws are man made, so no one has to oblige to them. Even the concept of law and order is not only hypocritical but another tactic of divide & conquer, for example-u rob a bank & serve 10yrs, wall street robs the country for BILLIONS & not even a slap on the wrist. Its one big monopoly game were u need monopoly to play. The dollar is worth more than U

  • B4 the tyranical age of the war on drugs; when the drugs heroin, marijuana, cocaine, etc were legal & widely available at any pharmacy, over the counter, and no questions asked, America had 1/10th the drug use it has today

This is proof we WILL NOT see a huge epidemic of rampant crackheads & people giving hand jobs for a dime bag of heroin...Drug legalization does not promote drug use, it controls the market, reduces violence, reduces OD's due to consistent purity & DEGLAMORIZES DRUGS

  • "Drug legalization does not promote drug use, it controls the market, reduces violence, reduces OD's due to consistent purity & DEGLAMORIZES DRUGS."

    EXACTLY! :-) Good post!

  • A War on Drugs is a War on me & U. Same goes for anything else Terror, Poverty. Its all a title to deploy other agendas-None of these wars on whatever stop any of the issue at all. If the elite(who run the whole black market of everything under the sun) want to cut down the population, then YES legalize all Drugs-but they dont do that. $MONEY$ is worth more than us lab rats. Drugs gives them reason to confiscate, trespass & terrorize us.

  • "A War on Drugs is a War on me & U."

    I agree.

THEIR "WoD" is actually the War on Drug DISORDER(s).

It is a "war" on PEOPLE's disorder(s) and a "war" directly on PEOPLE.

The drugs have nothing to do with it. If drugs did, then the DEA / drg agents would confiscate the DRUGS and leave the PEOPLE alone.

That is why the WoD MUST be stopped!
