I don't even know if it's business or self-centeredness so much as a growing lack of serious interest in this sort of music.

To add to it, faced with the choice between those two possibilities, I'd probably sit down and cry.

My only reassurance came a few years ago when I unannouncedly played Mahler's 9th symphony off of an iPod speaker in a classroom at my high school.  Noone knew it was "old music," so they loved it. If I'd told them what it was first, I doubt they would have liked it.

@BenMcCormack91 I'm surprised. Anything that doesn't have an obnoxious throbbing bass drum beat at my school is automatically thought of as trash.

I find it depressing that view counts drop off almost exactly 75% from the first video to the second. My mind sees it as some sort of testament to people's attention span for pieces of music longer than three minutes.
