New rules state that at a short corner if the first shot is HIT, and the hands are TOGETHER, then it must hit the backboard, apart from that... anything goes
@ANAVRYTAHO haha im a chick goalie and i hate crutch protectors lol never ever wear them lol...haha the first time u get hit there u learn pretty quick with reflexes lol...the first time i got hit there i was on the ground and a chick threw a spaz at me and whacked me there with her stick lol now thats ouchi seeming shes a woman and im a teen lol
i am hockey goalkeeper!been one since i was 10.if you had read the comment above me you would have seen i was just explaining Y the keeper droped to his side. some drop some stay on their feet. I stay on my feet. Btw i do know the hockey game. been playin it for 10 year.
lol ur wrong xonic is right, ive been playing for 10 years and im an 'A grade' umpire, the ball can b lifted, + that wasnt intentional the stick face was not on an up angle.. and anything below the knee is the defenders fault n in this case resulting in a short corner
The ball may be unintentionally raised from a FH as long as its not considered dangerous. And I don't agree with "anything below the knee is the defenders fault"... you cannot simply put the ball into a defenders foot and expect the PC. Rule 9.14 "Players must not force an opponent into offending unintentionally" in this case the ball would have gone over backline had it not hit the defenders foot. - oh btw been playing for 14 years, not that long, but then im only 18...
Aust hockey r gangester armed with sticks,Kangaroo does more of ''body game'' then skills with sticks, and HA bosses r afraid to play in Pakistan in Champ Trophy on ''political excuse'' as Govt of Aust will STOP their funding ...what a Blackmailing Govt use sports for POLITIS....Shame on Australian Hockey
A few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand
yeah, i think its a big shame that the USA doesn't play men's field hockey as it has the structure to be very good at it. Australia have the same college structure (to an extent) and they are in the top 3 in the world. Having said this I could see why guys in the USA would not want to play as there is Ice Hockey which takes a lot more skill and has a lot more money in it.
I always wonder this about field hockey. What if when taking a penalty corner the ball flies off the stick and hits someone on the face? I see everyone but the goalie has an unprotected face yet the Paki's were charging as the Aussies were about to hit it.
a hockey ball to the face is one of the many common injuries in field hockey. I have been hit in the face twice in my time playing and it is just one of the risks. It is a hell of a lot of fun to play though!
@zaindy87 if it hits someone in the face it hurts! although in many indoor hockey games two players or more wear face masks to sop them getting injured.
@zaindy87 it happens on rare occasions but if the first two runner run hard they get into a zone where the ball cant possibly hit them in the face and the two posties (two defensive players who guard the post) will wear face masks and boxes to protect the jewels its not that painful to be hit on the leg or anywhere really its a sudden pain then it goes away after 10minutes (ive been on the receiving end of a couple to the kneecaps
@zaindy87 meh we deal with it plus the people who are running towards the person flicking the ball is less likely to be injured than the people standing on the post. We now also have protective masks which im sure we did back then but they are more commonly used now.
@zaindy87 Depends on who's stick it came off. Chances are if its a dragflick and the runner goes straight at the flicker that there is going to be blood and penalty flick.
very smart and nice shot how the australian player hits the ball on the the foot on purpus,,

i still dont see why the keeper dropped, he should have stayed up and put it wide with his feet...

da first shot must hit da backboard. there4 da keeper drops to cover dat space. the rebound must be dealt with by defenders

@zaindy87 Well that's why you have corner masks now for the players in the goal, because it's just a big risk for the players.
