  • PAARRFANLIAA!!!???? Whatdoyoumean by PAARRFFANILIA?

  • Mindless trivia. In the background Dantalian's Chariot is playing. That's Zoot Money's band with a young Andy Summers of The Police playing if you didn't know.

  • 60s BBC would have had strict rules, as did studios of the time. The Beatles nearly got some legendary engineer/producers sacked from Abbey Road, except that George Martin was able to influence the 'old farts' more. The Flower Generation were genuinely trying to convince the stuffy, staid world of freedom & love - at least question dated values as Arthur is trying to say here. Dylan, Lennon and Jagger interviews are surprisingly consistent in their answers to such style of interviews.

  • Was the interviewer an idiot? Was he a genius?

  • YOU LIE!!!!!... no i'm not, lol awesome.

  • Parafinalia?!?!?!?

  • "but you're enjoying it aren't you! , dont you think its beautiful?...you see we don't worry about money, but you do....." so many great messages in this bit! aum. shakti

  • Brown's 'Give 'im a flower' was a piss-take of hippies

  • before alice was this guy and screaming lord sutch.

  • @bloodmachinetheband And before them was Screamin' Jay Hawkins.

  • "Makes you want to duff a daffodil"...blimey Nigel, you're bloody effing brilliant. And Arthur is stoned out of his mind! Hold on, thats very young Vincent Crane (with the mustache) speaking starting at 5:03 !

  • makes you want to duff a daffodil

no wonder the middle class twats used to get battered by the skinheads

that last twat on about giving out flowers is probably youré bank manager or financial consultantLOL

  • I don't know what some of you people are talking about, I find the things they say quite intelligent. Some of them are probably a bit high, but that only makes one admire it more... :)

Go to some event like this today and try to ellicit an intelligent response, you'll see the difference.

  • all that flower power nonsense was just a smoke screen to get rat assed without the authoritys interfering.

  • 2ALL: It's Internal Messenger, then Creep and, finally, Gypsy Escape

  • I think they might be a little high...

  • Argh....Hippies!

  • damn, i need to go sit under a rainbow & write some poems

  • I don`t think he knows what the fuck he`s talking about! LMAO!!!!

  • Lol!!!...He said, a positive, strong, response??....You`re gonna burn!!!!....Yup, that`s a real positive response! Lol!!!!

  • 'Give Him A Flower' was supposedly written to take the piss out of hippies.

  • Brilliant - my first festival!!!

  • 6:17 "It's fabulous, it's so big."

  • ''our philosophy can be summed up in one word- love' he says. substitute 'love' for 'bullshit' and you've got it down.

  • PARAPHERNALIAAAA?

  • 'dont be mislead by his unoriginal name' HA

  • Great film. Lol certain radiance of gayness, that shit was funny.

  • Who's the Munchkin?

  • I think that's Traffic in the background x

  • I know this is something of a shot in the dark but does anyone have any idea what the music playing in the background is at about 3:52???????

  • Perpetum Ridicul..

  • 6:54 is young David Blane

  • sure wish i could hear the graham bond organization in the background!

  • In June of 1967,400 million watched the Beatle's on T.V. This video was filmed in August 1967."All you need is Love", was the Mantra for that year. Now it's 2009.Come on all you Artest I'm pachtentely waiting for the next Mantra.

  • So glad I was there!!!!!!!

  • Me Too (God I feel old now)

  • Feeling old....me to. But all those memories are worth so much. The older I get the more details I remember. We are so lucky being part of music history!

  • last Windsor consert I attened I think was 1972/3 hazy days back then, it was in the great park not down by the river, I remember watching Camel playing live during a thunderstorm, amazing

I am an old Windsorian born 1947 :-)

  • Rock on Arthur!

Probably more arthur-itus than Brown these days, but still a brilliant voice!!

My partner at the time really believed that Arthurs waste products evaporated and he didn't need to shit or piss!....Well we did do a lot of drugs, ha,ha

  • 6:54 a young freddy mercury

  • That's highly offensive! Go listen to Rush Limbaugh please.

  • Very interesting interview.I also noticed Dantalians Chariot in the backround; that must have been a cool festival.Thanks.

  • Sutch much?

  • That Arthur Brown is pre Alice Cooper and way to go Arthur dude.

  • truthfully you'd should also thank Screamin' Jay Hawkings, cuz he invented shock rock

  • i think arthur is quite the business man , he pulls up his friend on the point he says about them not needing money....

  • I really enjoyed the people getting interviewed.

  • I'll make sure "Fire"is played at your

    cremation ceremony schraub'70 ~«q~_×p»~

  • Isnt that michael palin sitting with Arthur brown and talking to commentator!

  • It does sound like Michael Palin...and kinda looks like him from the back. Pre python employment?

  • I think that's Vincent Crane

  • LSD speaking,fucking classic hippies

  • @gazstas could be, but Arthur was known to be just an intellect without the need for synthetics. He was surely immersed in that culture though. What a time!

yeah that reporter was pretty dry, but he was ok, compared to some dodgy biased basturds.

  • the flower people LOL

what a fucking stuck up comentator

  • hahahaha omg at 5:31 one of the guys throws some hay at the interviewers face!!!!

  • Dull interviewer and questions, funny and sharp statements from Arthur. Wow...this is pure honey and chocolate for music fans. Thanks a ton !

  • vincent cranes amazing!

i bet he was cool as hell in person.

  • it's like he took artaud's ideas on theatre and made them fun.

anyways, how did you get this ?

  • great, thanks for posting this! still exciting after all this time.

  • "There's your usual Western cynicism" Pure awesome! He is the God of Hellfire!

  • interesting interview by an interesting man-very original

  • WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY PARAPHERNALIA!!!! He's so fucking tight!

  • In the background, Dantalian's Chariot's other song you can hear them playing is Four Fireman and at about 2:27 you can hear'um say,"This song's called Four Fireman", and that's all your gonna get of DC live! NOW WHERE'S MY CLOAK AT!

  • I wish they could of documented more of these psyche bands on film than they did. They all had such visual flair that had to be seen and started it all frankly. It's a shame that the wiz-kids over at the BBC taped over a lot of these band's TV appearances in order to save space. Nice one, erase history!

  • I was wondering why I haven't seen much of the acid/psychedelic rock stuff from the UK, now I know why. Shame, BBC, shame!

  • The BBC was unfortunately populated by stupid old upper middle class farts who hoped that this nasty pop music would go away. They did their best to erase it from the collective memory.I met plenty of the stupid old bastards when I worked there 20 years on from this....

  • thanks for all the great clips of Arthur Brown...i wonder if Dantalian's Chariot (by the way you're absolutely right "chrisedelic77") had Arthur in mind when writing "Madman running through the field"!!!

  • Listen very closely at 4:39 and you can hear Dantalian's Chariot playing "Madman running through the field" live in the background. That might be them just before too but I don't recognize the song though it sounds like Zoot's keyboard.

  • Can someone please confirm whether or not that is Vincent Crane talking...yay or nay?

  • Vincent Crane's the fellah talking about the bacchanals, with the moustache.

  • Now kids this is what drugs can do to you...

  • Wow....that chick is 60 years old now.

  • Eat a flower.

  • Arthur Brown: Musical Terrorist, the Ossama Bin Laden of Rock. And thats understating it and selling him short!

  • wow, wish I could go to Arthur Brown school. Looks like these lot have had something stronger than a pint of bitter.
