  • Double Chance was my great grandfathers horse. Thankyou for uploading this video!!!

  • the czechs might have the most notorious fence in the pardubice steeplechase known as the taxis ditch, but the canal turn when it was a ditch was just as notorious every clip from 23 to 28 there was a high number of fallers and refusuals, in this race 9 got taken out on the first circuit

  • The leaps of some of those horses at Beechers first time round had to be seen to be believed. I don't think with all the flat horses coming into the sport nowadays we'll see the likes of that again. It may have been primitve cameras compared to the HD ones used nowadays but top marks to the people who made this in the 20's, fantastic shots.

  • They celebrate the winner but forget to mourn those who died.

  • I would have to strongly disagree and suggest your comment is based on an opinion you have formed without consulting a single person who has been close to a horse that has died. To date 58 horses have died in 162 runnings of the Grand National. If you genuinely feel this way can I suggest you contact Jane Clark at Aintree and ask her if people forget to mourn the horses. Jane will be more then happy to show you just how wrong you are.

  • Notice the deaths of two horses, one at the 9:00 min mark at the hedge and the other at the 9:15 mark(back legs flailing)

This sport is def worse than flat racing when it comes to deaths and break downs on the course.

  • To put your mind at rest the two horses are Annandale and All White, neither were injured and both returned safely to their stables that night. It's common for a last fence faller in the National to stay down for a short period through no other reason than fatigue. Hedgehunter was the same when he fell in 2004, the year before he winning the race.

  • brilliant i wanted to see this fair hillarious when everyone falls from the pile up one horse emerges and runs away class
