  • New ideas may look clumsy to start with but if you mass produced cameras embedded in bricks and large flat screens for installing in buildings like double glazing and both connected to the building's computer system it could be fairly cheap and routine to produce "invisible sections" anywhere, not just corners.

A real city would become part-virtual same as people are now part-vitual.

  • The only way to make this happen is to either tape cameras to every street corner or have every car fitted with linked camera's. A logistican nightmare in itslef not to mention the potential for a street-by-street real time big brother

  • So you've come up with a ridiculously expensive and impractical alternative to convex mirrors and all-way stop signs. Good job.

  • LOL once the system is out for cars, drivers will have to stop before the curb, set up camera behind the curb, go back, turn with caution, and take the camera back.

  • hahahaha... so basically, you would have to install a camera on the other side of every wall that you would be turning into before you got there.. yeah, that will work ;) ;P

  • wall bang :P

  • Actually, I bet someone drives right into the corner of a building because of this instead of avoiding an oncoming car.... just saying, same stupid people that require warnings about not using hair dryers in the shower...

  • so I'm assuming youd have to place 2 cameras on every blind corner in the world then every car would need wireless access to a server with these live feed cameras on it so you can view it while driving your $50k car with a TV in it while trying not to hit anyone. Ever heard of a convex mirror? I dont even know why this is relevant, what a waste of time money and research. No part of this concept seems realistic what so ever

  • @keepraining ha! you are really on the money with the convex mirror idea... I can simplify that! Just put a motion sensor connected to an orange light on either side of the blind corner (see the orange light? take care)... but yes, I think this will have a military app, as well, so the research is not wasted...

  • now we need to learn how to no clip through the wall

  • People are starving but as long as we can see through walls.........

  • @beirney82 yes because stopping all research in everything sounds like a smart plan, oh wait you can't read this, because no one invented computers because people were starving at that time so we stopped all research.

  • or u could just put a stop sign there

  • @ChubbiestBug haha true!

  • nah, a lil mirror placed strategically will help

  • it will be not safe having sex in the future

  • Yeah, that's practical.

  • Ban the haxor!

  • i like the part where we saw through the wall

  • Wall hacks

  • see through wall!

  • o-o

  • how would the car's camera connect to the reference camera?

  • How is "this system" better than a simple mirror?

  • @frankbraker Because nobody looks at mirrors, With this your kinda forced to look through the wall :P

  • lol the criminals will use this to spot cop cars hiding behind walls now are trees

  • drunk driving with this is a BAAAAAAD IDEA!!!! NONONO

  • HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAX

  • We have transparent walls lobbies 10th prestige all contact me

    PSN: qahtani_hilali

  • OMFG U HAS 1337 HAxX0rZ

  • ._. Yeah they already figured out something for seeing through objects... they call it a window

  • @XiDecepi lol

  • haxxx... the hax

  • HAX!!!

  • AHhh.. Not a new idea. But cool still.

  • yeah, its called GLASS WALLS

  • HAX!!!

  • "LAG" It will F_CK you up.

  • Comment removed

  • A lot of good that will do, most drivers are blind anyway.

  • much more energy efficient than mirrors, because you can use the latest electronic technologies on it, which you can't on mirrors.

  • wtf speak german o_O

  • Does this work with women clothes?

  • @GreekBeast02 only if you put a camera under the woman's shirt. and if you've got that far you don't really need the camera

  • @GreekBeast02 if you manage to put a camera in a women bra

  • seems like it would be very successful if it was coordinated to work within the windshield of a car or through glasses.

  • Put cameras on every wall possible.....Ima steal them

  • Or just slow down and use your brain more often?

  • if the wall is tranparent, dont you increase the risk of hitting the wall?

  • Nice

  • HACKER!!

    n00b!!

  • all you need is 278 billion cameras

  • @wilson22490 Then London should be fine

  • @laugurinn lolol

  • wall hack :D

  • I would run into stuff because I'd be like "DOOD! THE WALL IS SEE THROUGH!!! AHHHHH!!!!!!"

  • i dont understand, you cant see through the actual wall, isnt it only in the image captured by the camera that the wall is transparent?

  • HAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • ok lets set up a camera every square meter just so we can see behind walls at probably less then 1080p

  • how will seeing through walls not be a bigger distraction?

  • Superflous technology. Nice idea, but are you going to have a camera in every street corner just so people can see through walls at a corner. That's why there's stop signs, and lights... and also drivers should take procautions.

  • COOL

  • wallhacks!

  • Or........ and I realise this is a little outside the box, the drivers could slow down when coming to a blind corner, just a thought.

  • @anothergazman Welcome to the age of technology buddy. Everyones striving to make life that much easier and lazier. =D

  • if they could install that system under womens blouses, it would be a huge seller.

  • you would look retarded if you super glued a camera on your car

  • @FreeDownloads1 You would look more retarded if you t-boned the car that was comming out from the corner, think about that douche..

  • sweet!

  • I think we should just kill all niggers resulting in the end of racism.

  • @Ruupih no, kill all people with aids!

  • @Unrealshade Shut up jew.

  • @Ruupih oh yeah they should die too of course. and everbody who's insulting people, so we don't have any more insulting yaaaayy!!!!!!!11 :3

  • HAXOR!

  • i have a better more cost effective system...its been around for decades in Italy at least... a mirror on the opposite corner facing toward the opposite inner corner! i KNOW ...its just insane HIGH TECH....

what fuking potential hazards? maybe trying to drift around a corner at 70mph on a public road is the hazard...how bout making it so that your car automatically starts slowing down before a corner or intersection or crossing...that seems like a much more smart idea...

  • hahaha, wall hacking in real life, n00bs will love that

  • wallhax! is it detectable by TAC? Transit Anti-Cheat???

  • just what we need, more cameras monitoring us....

  • wow Awesome

  • WALL HACKZ. KICK HIM FROM THE ROOM!!!!

  • How about drive carefully?

  • GOOGLE..HAHA I MEAN GIGGLE GIGGLE

  • must cost a bijjilion dollars to put a camera on streets so ur car can see through walls

  • fucking noob drive your car without hacks punk bitch

  • yes, lets put cameras up everywhere at every corner. Stupid.

  • DEJAVU

  • WALL HAX!? Are u making real life to CS 1.6?!

  • that system sounds pretty cool...

  • H4x

  • x22 ?

  • hackorz xd

  • Those potential drivers will be banned by PunkBuster for Wallhack... -.-

  • hjahahahahaha xD

  • @Swaggy04 COMMENT WIN

  • @Swaggy04 SO true... But vac ban will fail...

  • @kidovate Of course! VAC is whack! :D

  • SICK!

  • wow dats pretty cool

  • wow very useful in a way...

  • zomg you will crash in to the wall

  • Wallhack :D

  • hahaha! its WALLHACK haXXorz !!

  • This video has been entered into the 'Top 10 Technology Videos of the Week' battle at BattlingTube website.

  • OMG!!!! HAX!!!

  • @nicksb115 HAAX!! From GMOD!!?

  • lol true i guess

  • well thats a waste of money

  • Two cameras and a projector don't cost that much money; and they'd undoubtedly only use it on corners that are infamous for being hazardous and accident-prone.

After all, we all have that one intersection in town that makes us say "oh fuck, what was I thinking trying to turn here?". ;-)

  • Wouldn't work with an image projected onto the wall. It would have to be either projected onto your windscreen somehow or viewed on a screen in your vehicle.

If it were projected onto the wall it would only give the illusion of transparency from one point in space. As you move from that point it will look more distorted. The projection wont be visible on a sunny day either.

It would be a fairly expensive piece of kit.

Convex mirrors placed at junctions are a cheaper alternative.

  • @monkeyfacial probably they were thinking to put it in a car. Othewise makes no sense indeed.

  • @sockeye001 So is every other invention at first. Cars were a waste of money when they were invented. So were light bulbs.

Once incorporated into society, their costs go down fast, and therefore so do their prices. In 20 years, I can bet that we will either have this or some other kind of very advanced GPS system.

  • i think its cool

  • ..and crash into invisible walls.

  • drivers? this is more like for surveillance.. they will be watching you

  • Our eyes already do this but on a smaller scale.

  • @Roan1414 the distance between our two eyes

  • For those who thing "zomg you will crash in to the wall". two reasons why you won't:

    1. Unless you drive over sidewalks and street corners all the time, you won't even attempt it.

    2. You can visually see the visual distortion which is greater than that glass gives off.

So if you regularly drive over corners of of intersections or where there is no roads, and walk into glass doors on a daily basis, yes, you could crash into the "invisible" wall.

  • i should flag this for misleading text

  • yes sure we can sees cars from other side but BANG!! did i just hit the wall?!

  • put a camera on every soldier super imposed on the land warrior system they're developing and you have a more situationally aware soldier. Not only do you have that, but a soldier comming to support his comrads will know the position and situational awareness of the indaviduals he's attempting to flank.

  • from where do we see the transparent wall? and how does it change as we move like at 0:27 to 0:32 ?

  • wallhacks ftw!

  • sadly not that impressive. Kind of an old trick actually. Implementing it in an useful way is the hard part.

  • So are drivers supposed to have a camera installed at every corner they turn? And are they supposed to watch a screen instead of the road? What happened to just driving well?

  • @wynden Eventually using an augmented reality overlay on your windshield, you would see through the wall as if it were real.

Augmented reality has few very "useful" ideas so far, but this one is definitely a great concept.

  • I wouldn't put my bathroom in one of those transparent corners...

  • there already is a transparent wall. i'm a transparent wall technition. i have a squeegie and a bucket of soapy water as tools.

what? you mean my night job at subway doesn't make me an artist? what about those smiley faces i put on top with mustard and mayo? art, yes?

  • yeah sure. and now we place cameras everywhere......

I do that every day whil editing clips. having 2 layers.

    what a bullshit!

  • or you could choose not to run the stop sign.

  • Haha, nice

  • @josh1111111111111100 Because every intersection with a stop sign is a 4-way right? No such thing as a 2-way, that would just be crazy!

  • Ignorance is bliss is it not? In your case you must be in pure extasy. stay out of the kitchen son, you' get burned everytime.

  • Your comment made no sense as a response to me, please elaborate with something witty and relevant, or another point to continue this conversation.

  • Wow, what an amazing technological advancement!!

    no.

  • @daominous it's not the advancement that's great. it's it use. just as any tool, the simplest are the most usfull.

  • heh um ok sure.. Anyways.. What, as you say, is so "great" about this particular application of the technology??

I wouldnt have even thought this to be of any scientific merit whatsoever. I personally see it as being completely pointless. But if this really leaves you in awe, all the power to you!

  • @daominous

You find it pointless to make drivers and pedestrians more safe?

  • para q quiero una pared invisible, si no voy a tener privacidad -.-'

  • no es una pared, son dos camaras las ke producen la imagen

  • hahaha it's haCk mode

  • Pointless as hell. How about we just look through the first camera... you know, where the car is at... and put the other camera in another parking lot. yeah?

Fucking morons trying to make money with fail ass inventions...

Granted they are trying... I guess...

  • Apparently the moron is you.

The application of this is you're driving down a street and can look through your windshield with a video overlay allowing you to see what's behind the buildings.

So when the Semi speeding down the street fails to stop at the stopsign, you saw him coming behind the building to begin with and hit the breaks, rather than being hit by something you didn't even know was there when you cross the intersection.

  • thank you alot my friend, i don't know what the hell other ppl are saying, it's like they only watched the first 10 sec

  • So you argument is to take your eyes off the road to see something behind the wall where the person is SUPPOSED to stop anyway?

Yeah, enjoy hitting the car in front of you when they slow down, or that kid that chased his ball into the street.

They stated in the video the point of this was theft. Don't try to make this dumb ass idea better by changing the point they had intended. Besides, even if your stupid thought made sense, I was talking about what the video had in mind. Not you.

  • @xxcrimxx You really didn't watch more than 10 seconds of the video did you?

At 28 seconds they explicitly mention seing hazards while driving around blind corners.

Congratulations on winning the "I didn't watch the video but want to say why it's a stupid idea" award of the day.

  • Still a stupid idea. Why do you need the first camera? If your trying to see what the 2nd camera sees anyway, wtf is the point of the 1st one.

That was the original point I was making. But you went off topic calling me a moron because you wanted to avoid the fact that the idea is fucking stupid and you have nothing to say to prove its not pointless.

  • @xxcrimxx the point of the first camera is to determine where the transparency overlay of the second is supposed to be.

Again, you prove again you have no idea about the subject matter you are trying to comment on.

I await your next response to see how your next idiotic retort.

  • Yeah, OF THE SECOND. So why the hell do you need the first if what you want to see is what the second one sees? Are you really that stupid as to not understand?

Let me break it down for you.

The second camera is showing what I wanna see, the first camera is showing me what the second camera is showing me anyway... just in some supposed "see through the wall" kinda way. But the fact is, I JUST wanna see what camera 2 sees. The one behind the wall. And in essence, its all I see anyway...

  • It's not all you see.

It's called situational awareness. While looking at the primary view (1st camera overlayed with 2nd camera if you will), you see the ENTIRE picture, not just the 2nd camera.

Looking through the 1st "monitor" (which could be a normal windshield) you see everything you while driving normally today. Look through the second, you only see an alley.

So you'd want to take your eyes off the road to look at a monitor? I believe texting and driving is being made illegal ;)

  • "(which could be a normal windshield)"

The reason WHY that would not work is because the idea of that is stupid.

First off, you get in an accident, windows are made to break away... so, put 2 an 2 together.

Next, if its your windshield and something goes wrong, guess what happens to your vision?

The idea is just flat out stupid. Take the corner slow like a normal person would if he is so damn worried about someone speeding by... which is highly unlikely in the first place.

  • What the f**k are you saying? i find their idea more useful than your crazy @ss idea

  • Soon, you won't need a superpower to see through walls. Instead, you could use a new system that involves walking around the wall in question!

This is a little more advanced than that. Basically, it would involve superimposing the information from multiple cameras into a single image that could then be interpreted more easily. A useful idea, but nothing new. Apparently, the innovation here is applying a perspective-style projection based on camera location to better combine the two images.

  • hey a video camera with another video camera

  • Soon there won't be anymore windshields. It will just be a big monitor.

  • People would crash into them. People are BAD drivers. They would be like "Rrrrmmmmm CRASH!"

  • I have always dreamed of having the power to see through walls, but it may be privacy invasion.

what if you are viewing your neighbors walls?

  • AAAHHH IN REAL LIFE WALL HACKERS!!!

  • wtf

  • good idea, but it wouldn't work exactly as shown in the video. As your car moves your view is shifting, where as the image portrayed on the wall would not. However, it would still be highly effective for preventing accidents.

  • wallhacks.......

  • Good One.

  • transparent?

    not any where close

  • or they could crash... into walls

  • @MuffinGlo i agree

  • "..could allow drivers to spot potential hazards before they arrive..."

Well unfortunately it won't deal with unaware or distracted drivers...

There should be a term for the category that this falls under. Maybe "techno-masturbation"...

  • very little application possibilities...who cares?

  • It could also mess with people's heads and probably cause a few wrecks.

  • ok so we have to put a camera on every blind corner of every building? shit idea...

  • ,Think about it.

The US is suppose to be about individual liberties and freedoms, not special treatment for collectives and groups.

The US is suppose to be about equal opportunity, not socialized equal outcome.

The US Constitution was basically made to protect the people from big reckless government.

Obviously, obama is transferring power to government, forcing Americans to become more reliant and dependent on government.

If you control the economy you control the people, as seen by Hitler.

  • The government has grown to damn big. They should be scared of the people, not the other way around.

    END THE FED

  • @YouSmellLikePOOO because the way things are now, we're getting assraped by big corporations. If you want to say "hey, big government could possibly screw us over" then thats fine, but you should first admit that we are already being screwed over by "free" corporations anyway.

  • yeah carnegie mellon, what what!

  • not that impressive. fuck off faggots.
