40% is quite well much better than me haha I don't speak manda but I can speak a little bit canto also about 30%
I've learn it from watching movies with subtitles and on my work because most of my collegue speak canto.
Also very funny when i talk with my little niece she's almost 3 she can understand a bit fuzhounese but talks in canto so that's also a way for me to practice haha.
But really to bad the language is dying.
In a couple of years there's nobody to talk in fuzhounese -__-'
Um I know like 30-40% mandarin. I learned mandarin from watching lots of mandarin movies when I was a kid. I know the basics...I know it less than my fouzhounese =x and I want to learn more but my dad wont sign me up for classes. he said its a waste of money and i should just learn watching his asian tv, but the problem is they talk about politics and news, which i would never be able to understand =[
I speak it to my parents. I'm pretty ehh.. I've learned it when I was a child and always been talking it here, but I don't speak it um maturely? As in, I know the basics blah blah theres much you can learn in 17 years, but I can't speak the complicated things say if we started talking about government or religion and stuff, I wouldn't be able to understand. Its because my mom started teach me English at 3 so I was so entranced tahts all I really focus on. I only speak it to my relatives
Omg I totally understand! Why aren't there any songs? Why aren't there any written romanji? I asked my parents, they say its the same for mandrin, but I still don't think thats right =[. The fuzhounese language is dying...and uh...Are you good at speaking it? ^_^ Wow you dont know how I feel, to just meet someone who understood what my brother said! Its shocking and embarrassing ahahahah
it shocks me that they don't have their own shows or w/e, you never hear fuzhounese? (sp?) I mean you have mandrin on tv etc but why aren't there fuzhounese? i always ask myself
Do you speak the dialect? Theres very few of us, heck theres like no one where we live. We live in CA. Theres always canto, mandrin, etc, but never fuzhou D:. Its really really nice to hear from someone who understands it! (do you understand it? lol) ^_^
because china isnt communist, its socialist. the stars there are rich, actors there in china are rich, singers are rich, etc. its obvious that communist died decades ago...
do you even know what we're saying >_> lol. actually, we argue all the time when we're at our real home in CA. this is just a facade to put up in front of my grandma
omg...thats my mom..im filiming this..lol yeah i was excited so i kinda kept shaking the camera, i was trying to avoid filming my mom cuz shes such a camera hog

it is indeed very strange that there's aren't any series or movies in fuzhou dialect.
They have in in all languages so why not ours to.
But i can remember when I was in fuzhou there were a couple of movies spoken in Fuzhounese but really can't find anything on youtube,
And also why issn't there any music in fuzhounese does it even exist or what-__-
so how is your fuzhounese like do you talk it a lot?
