  • @XoulCarlos Yeah, I know, it's kinda childish... but it was like an internal "joke" on a guitar forum... it was like my trademark at the time. Now I've quit drinking, so this won't be a problem in the future. Thanks! :)

  • @CedricIII then, its an awesome video!

  • i want what hes drinkin...

  • on a scale of 1-10 how deeply are you inspired by Steve Vai ? :)

  • @raghavraghavs I think... 2 or 3. Listened a lot to his stuff in the beginning of the 90's, but now I can't even remember when I heard him the last time. If you'd ask me about Steve Lukather, my answer would have been MUCH higher! LOL.

  • @georgec092 Thanks man! It has been one of my main goals to be able to continue playing no matter where my fingers land on the fretboard... but don't ask me what notes I'm playing... lol

Don't be jealous, use the time to practice instead! ;) Rock on! \m/

  • Hey. fan, du rockar verkligen fett

  • Tackar! Ja, man gör så gott man kan! :D

  • Your improv in the begining is beautiful, I love it, whats the effects/? Sounds amazing.

  • Thanks! Effects? I think there's a reverb and some stereo delay, that's what I usually use.

  • @CedricIII,

Whatever it is, it sounds great.

Just got my first guitar for christmas, an Epiphone single cutaway sunburst, still learning, I'd love to learn this song someday though, truly beautiful song.

  • Your improvisation in the begining is beautiful

  • Awesome!!!

  • Mad skill. I'm a fan!

  • hmmm i swear it was gt-8 they are better then then line forsures ive had them all but his sound is great here tho

  • da boss gt-8 in the back dont leave home with out it the tone shines here

  • @bendeal420 It's a Line6 Pod variant i believe. I think i've asked this question in the past as i too own a GT-8

  • nice ! Excellent sound brother !

If heaven's got music,it has to be FLOYD !

  • Some of the best axing I have ever heard. Smooth, and flowing. I found this on a RC site, and it pulled my attention completly away

  • I like how you can use the guitar to its fullest....killer sound man...you play well....with a freedom like Joe Satriani...

  • It's a Mucic Man Luke, the first version with a floyd rose unit, commonly known as Music Man Luke 1.

The color is called Pearl Red.

    Price... I don't know....

  • Hey Cedriclll..Mike from North Carolina again..How many guitarsdo you Have? Which is your favorite? Fantastic playing as usual..Waiting for your next video..Cheers mate

  • Hi Mike! I have 10 electric... or wait... no, it's 12 actually. I also have some acoustic guitars...

I really don't have a favorite guitar, they are all good in their own ways, for different purposes you know?

    Cheers!

  • wow! very goog job!

  • ben dont like you

  • Which Ben? Ben Dover? ;)

  • Kan vara bland det bästa jag hört på youtube! Riktigt schysst lirat, läckert!

  • Tackar så förfärligt mycket! :)

  • The title of this upload says it all .. the key word here being IMPROVISED ... he's just jamming to the track .. and it's a great song to groove over Gilmour himself never played the same leads on it .. Some comments said they hear Steve Vai style but this is pure Lukather style with a few pinches of Satch in my opinion, I've seen Lukather twice with Toto and the guys a complete LUNATIC on the guitar ,he's in my top five tasty shred monsters and Cedriclll has got it goin here ! Great job mate

  • Thank you very much!

  • Those unthankful bastards! :P

  • I guess it's good fore Sofiero to be shown in this clip. ;)

    Really great!

  • Thanks! Well, they didn't get me a sponsorship yet... :D

  • What are you using for effects becasue the tone sounds fantastic

  • I think there was some delay and reverb, but that's it.

    THanks!

  • sounds kinda lik0e vai to me........beatifully played man

  • dude...dat beer drinking was coool....lol...

  • Yeah, I practise it often! LOL

  • THATS IMITATABLE!!!!!

  • Awesome ! Really impressive

plz show more of that stuff

  • Thanks. Yeah, I'll try...

  • Holy Christ dude!!! This was AWESOME. I am a Gilmour purist and think he would agree- this is well done indeed.

  • Cool!

  • technically perfect, you are a great guitarist!! but musically, this is far from what I expected of a Pink Floyd song. I've been learning music since I'm 7, I probably don't have the same influences as you. But there are amazing parts in your impro!!

I'd like to suggest just to play more with your ear than with your technic ; I mean, a great solo isn't always the harder technically!! That should give even better solos!!

Rock on my friend, and keep it up!!

  • You know... I've never heard the original song, just fooling around. Concerning the technical aspect, I know what you mean. I don't really know which part you think is to technical, the fast scale runs or the wammy bar abuse? *lol*

One thing to remember is that in this video I just had a new floyd rose unit installed. The old one was worn out, so this was the first time in many years that I actually could use the wammy.

I completely agree with you. Less is more. Stay tuned for more feeling.. ;)

  • Fantastic Pink Floyd cover / improvisation. I wish I had at least 1/4 of your skills.

    Greetings from Costa Rica!

  • Could you post your xt settings if you have them saved? Thanks!

    Awesome playing!

  • pro!

  • Which song is this? =)

  • Don't know what you mean really, I think the video title says it all... it's a BT from gilmourish(dot)com.. :)

  • You were just awesome on this video. That tone just fuckin kills pal. Great improvisation on all of your videos.

  • Thank you very much! ♫

  • I'm amazed that some hot band hasn't seen this and picked you up....Awsome.

  • Well, I guess they don't want a redneck who loves titties and beer, haha!

    Thanks man!

  • it reminds me made of tears by satriani a bit

  • Love the sound! What do u use. A Music Man luke guitar, but effects? Thanks

    ++ from Belgium

  • It's a Line6 Pod XT Live straight into my computer.

I mix the sound that I record in Cubase with the sound from the camera so it sounds a bit more live.

But I guess a lot of the good sound comes from the EMG pickups, they're amazing, sounds good in every amp that I ever tested. A bit anonumous but, who gives a sh*t...?

Effectwise I don't think I used anything else than a delay and a reverb. Perhaps slight chorusing too, but it doesn't sound like that.

  • Ok, thanks! Love your sound man, just dreamin'!

  • And you play like Lukather, too. That's some great playing man. cheers!

  • Damn, you are my favorite emotional player on youtube!

  • Thanks, mate! :)

  • do you play with 0.9's ??

  • Yes. I had a period for about ten years when I used .010-sets, but then I bought a guitar which had a .009"-set and it was soo much easier to play.

I think the tone is fatterer with heavier strings but for me playabilty comes first and I like the sound of slinky strings!

  • You hammed it up a bit. Deservingly so. I never was a fan of the home run trott but you hit this one way out! so, if you wanna show your ass, I`m cool. This was awesome!

  • I LOVED the part between 4:01-4:03, that use of the whammy bar was used to perfection.

  • great playing...

I love the way you choose the notes....

  • Thanks! :)

  • outstanding improv ability

  • What's your effects chain in this? Pedals live, or recorded dry and mixed in later? For not being a big Floyd fan you sure got the Gilmour vibe going one, with some modern shreddy spice thrown in - I like!!

  • oops, nevermind, just found an older comment where you mentioned a PODxt direct into the sound card.

  • Yeah, but the XT's effects is on when recording. I could record the signal dry too and would if it was an important recording, but it's not, so I recorded the solo with both delay and reverb on. Thanks btw!

  • 2:40 hahahaha...show off in style :)

    well done!

  • Yeah, but what the heck.. long song, gotta drink, gotta drink! :D

  • xD NICE DUDE JUST NICE

  • Thanks man!

  • you sound abit like jeff beck

  • Oh, really? I don't know, I haven't barely heard him, so any resemblance between me and Mr Beck is purely coincidenctial!

I know who he is and how he play, but that's it!

    *not sober..*

  • you're hot man bravo!

  • OMFG! EXCELLENT improvisION OF SORROW ... AWESOME ... PROPS MAN ! I NEED TO BE TAUGHT .. I WANNA BE THE NEXT DAVID GILMOUR .

  • Holy shit, how do you do that? I have watched this several times. Wish I had fingers like that! Actually Gilmour is one my favorite guitarists, but he does not play that fast. You captured the mood anyway.... must be that haunting Pink Floyd rhythm...

  • Thanks! I don't know really, I just play... :D

  • Not really a cover is it just improv over the backing track still all good keep up and i do agree that less is more sometimes especially with Mr Gilmour his finesse and feel is unsurpassed by no one a hard act to follow.

  • You're right. I'll change the heading right away. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm not actually a PFfan or a Gilmour fan, but I like the way he plays, even though I think I'v just heard like four-five songs by PF.

    Impro it is.

Yeah, I'll keep it up, very soon! ;)

  • sofiero bear commersial haha. post another video i think :D

  • Yeah, more bears! Roooaarrr!!!

  • drink beer get uber good at guitar!

  • This is my favorite Floyd solo for sure and your version is amazing! I'd love to hear you do a rendition of Stairway To Heaven.

  • You're probably right. Less is more sometimes, but the thing is that I get bored after a while... ;)

    Thanks for watching!

    /F

  • Maybe you should listen to Pink FLoyd a little bit more,it would show you that chosing you notes, and the right notes, is better than showing off on some random scales... but yeah, great job and skills!

  • love it

  • The tone at 01:11 gets me every time brother.

Let's play this great song some time!

  • Yeah, maybe we should play it..

I haven't heard the original recording though, so I don't know if there's any vocals.

I doubt that people would like to hear nearly nine minutes of guitar masturbation, hehe!

    / Finske mannen

  • The sweet smell of a great sorrow lies over the land

Plumes of smoke rise and merge into the leaden sky:

A man lies and dreams of green fields and rivers,

But awakes to a morning with no reason for waking

He's haunted by the memory of a lost paradise

In his youth or a dream, he can't be precise

He's chained forever to a world that's departed

It's not enough, it's not enough

His blood has frozen & curdled with fright

His knees have trembled & given way in the night

  • One world, one soul Time pass, the river rolls It's not enough it's not enough His hand has faltered .... .... ...... And he talks to the river of lost love and dedication And silent replies that swirl invitation Flow dark and troubled to an oily sea A grim intimation of what is to be There's an unceasing wind that blows through this night And there's dust in my eyes, that blinds my sight And silence that speaks so much louder that words, Of promises broken
  • did you improvise?

    very nice cover!

  • Yes, I'm improvising. But it's pretty hard to not repeat anything over such a long backing track, but I think it was ok. Felt good afterwards anyway.

    Thanks for watching!

  • sounds cool! Great job. Do I detect a hint of brian may in there?

  • Thanks. Brian May? Don't think so, or maybe it's just that I like melodies and so does he..?

  • Its Surround Sound :)

  • Sounds like what would happen if Satriani started playing lead for the Floyd. Very nice playing!!

  • Haha, yes, maybe Satch has affected my style, but I hardly never listen to him these days, nor play his music, but I did for about fifteen years ago! :D Guess he has influenced me more than I know...

    Thanks mate!

  • Great, great, great !!!!

    Awesome playing, bro!

  • Thanks!!!

  • love it brother!!!!damn good playing!!!

  • szybszy lepszy ;)

  • En riktig jävla tönt!!!!!

  • Tackar! :)

  • Excellent playing and tone, is that beer only 5.2%, seems to help lubricate the fingers good though! :-)
