@uknowitstrue92 Yes - I'm sorry you can't see it because its out of sight of the camera. What happens is Comet swims to the surface with the ring on his nose and I take it off with my fingers. Thanks for asking!

Yes - definitely. I've trained Betta's myself. They can't do all the tricks, but the are pretty quick learners. In fact there are several YouTube videos of bettas doing tricks.

It takes patience - often a few days before the fish will learn to associate the wand (or straw in your case) with food. We recommend feeding your fish less at regular mealtime to get them motivated, as described above.

what if your fish doesn't or won't go near the wand? I wanted to test at hime before deciding to buy it and i use a straw (stick in water with food, hold top, release in water near fish) they won't got near it. Even when I just releas it near them, they eat the food but still won't go near the straw! IT's like its not clicking that the straw has food

We use standard pellet food that we use to feed our fish. The key is to given them less food at regular mealtime, so they are hungry enough to be motivated by food at training time.

Some of the tricks are cool like limbo, cause he actually does the whole trick, but the in out weave, not so cool cause he hasn't learned the trick, he is just following the target, which is a trick, but not near as impressive.

your best off using one of the smarter types of fish like chichlids or goldfish/koi as they are smarter then the average fish

Personally I train my parrots to do tricks, but little that I knew positive reinforcement technique can be so effective on goldfish. Comet was truly amazing! =)

Wow, that's amazing! The soccer thing was so awesome..he caught on the second he noticed he'd be rewarded for putting it in there.

Getting the football off the 'ground' is pretty tough. To get Comet to do it, I held the tip of the wand right at the base of the football. But if worse comes to work, you can always have your fix 'run the ball' (push it along the surface of the playing field) rather than try to get him to get it into the air.

I would guess that he is counting the amount of times he can get his fish to do the trick so that he can keep track of it.

Glad you liked the video. My son Kyle and I had fun making it. It shouldn't take too long for you goldfish to learn to follow the feeding wand around the tank, once it realizes food comes out of it! After that, training should proceed pretty quickly.

Yes - it has food. You can load it with whatever food you normally feed your fish - no need to order special food.

The blue tube with the orange center is the "feeding wand" that comes with the R2 Fish School training kit. It is the key to the whole training process. And no - is isn't a normal straw so it doesn't need to be plugged with your finger.
