One of my favorite movies. The momentary glance at the end is my favorite part. It shoes how sometimes, the most intense experiences can be shared with other people without words. But if there were words, they would be:
The last seconds of scene the eye contact between Clyde and Bonnie before the shooting I wonder if it really happened in real life, that look from both and knowing of impending death is very strong emotional moment.
As much liberty as the film itself took they played this final scene completely accurately all the way down to how both of them fell and drew their last breaths
This seems to be the way Americans do things. I'm amazed in US police TV documentaries how they seem to need 40 men with machine guns and full body armour to stop a speeding motorist.
@Sub4UrLife Last night I watched 'law enforcement officers' raiding a house in Arizona where someone was supposedly dealing marijuana. Eight men with SMG's and body armour surrounded one person, threw him to the floor, pinned him down and handcuffed him. He was a 12 year old boy. I rest my case.
Francis Ford Coppalla said th@ the assassination scene in The Godfather where Sonny was killed @ the toll booth was inspired by this scene. And the similarities make it obvious.
1934 was the year Bonnie and Clyde were shot dead... and this is totally inaccurate, I know this almost 80 years after it happened, apparently even 33 years later, some people didn't.. lol...
There is speculation the reported ambush was a hoax & that B&C were executed with 2 shots that ear witnesses heard (not a volley from multiple weapons), the ambush scene staged & filmed. Hamer had permission from Texas prisons director Lee Sullivan to keep whatever possessions B&C had (including title to the weapons) once killed.
Wouldn't you try to find out where the bank loot from recent robberies was located before executing them if you were on the execution posse?.
All time classic scenes from one of my top favorite flicks. Before Mommie Dearest forever typecast her and ruined her career, this was Faye Dunaway's signature role. Forgot how beautiful she was, luminious.
@zashleyforever09 Public enemies was the newest movie based john dillinger out of all the 3, and it was inaccurate but it was enjoyable :p.. I researched all three movie endings and people commented that there was something inaccurate about all of them and someone commented on the public enemies ending saying it was closest to the truth.
Bonnie and clyde lived was interesting how two bond with each other living life like others has to work....at the ending was insane cops corner them.....blasting the shit of them.....nobody couldnt still be alive heavy machine guns tearing through the cars with bullets fuck them up......
Bonnie and clyde got what the diserved, especially clyde. Clyde barrow killed at least 14 people. And all the shit they do in this movie, is stuff that was done by other gangsters like dillinger and floyd. They didn't rob that many banks. The amount of money they stole is chump change compared to what john dillinger and alvin karpis stole.
Bonnie and Clyde were some of the only few people brave enough to fight back when this country had fucked them over. If only people in this generation had the balls to do what they did the world would be a better place.
Well, it sounds cool in theory. It's really different when you, or someone you love gets shot or stabbed because someone was being a gansta. Then all the sudden they are foul scumbags who deserve a gruesome death.
@whitetrashoutlaw How exactly does bumping off hapless store clerks and flatfoots make for a better world? A better world for criminal scum maybe. You should get your inspiration from people like doctors and educators - people who work to make the world a better place for everyone, not low-life sociopaths who live by causing pain and suffering to the sole benefit of themselves.
This is historically inaccurate...Clyde was actually not outside of the car when they were shot, but sitting on the drivers side next to Bonnie. The real crime scene video shows Bonnie slumped over onto Clyde's shoulders both riddled with bullets.
@BustAMovePerkin I'd like to see this footage, not photographs mind you.. They took real pleasure in knocking off a bunch of rednecks for the sake of "look at us we've solved a crime"
@BustAMovePerkin You're right. This scene is very inaccurate. As the story goes (in books), the guy changing the tire wasn't by the truck, either. The truck was at the roadside, looking like it needed work, but the old man had been chained to a tree by the posse over on their side of the road.
"I bet the black cop was like break yourself fool! lol jk"
@Jotbrar23 there was no black cop. Everyone who shot them was white. The black men driving by were innocent bystanders. In the real life story, they were poor sharecroppers who'd just happened to drive by and after the shooting were found in their car trembling under the seats.
this scene was the first shoot out scene in Hollywood history that made it an R rating...it was very realistic, brutal and factual.....in fact, Beatty came up against the studio for its realism.....I am 52. now...my 17 year old actually liked the film..but didn't think it was that violent..I told him that at the time..way back in 70 or there out bouts...it was quite shockiing...like Taxi Driver was in 1976...he hasn't seen that film yet..but now it is all about shock, blood, awe..to the MAX!
Ok, experts. In order to showcase the film's innovative special effects, it was necessary to have Clyde out of the car and Bonnie in the car with the door open. It's referred to as artistic license. Now perhaps you can accept the fact that this is not the ACTUAL Bonnie and Clyde or the ACTUAL depiction of their death. Geez...
This movie is class A shit. Bonnie and Clyde did not get out of the car when they got killed and they were armed to the teeth. They found a dozen guns in their car, not to mention clyde had a BAR on his lap. Frank Hamer never met them before he killed them. Also two members of the Barrow gang lived to see this movie and they both hated it. Warner Bros. got sued twice for this movie. I'm sure i'll like the remake more than this piece of shit film.
In real life the cops never used thompson, they used BAR instead and were 100 yards away. Another fact is they fired 120 rounds non stop into B&C including the car. They were buried beside Bonnies mothets house together with Clyde.
thats holywood bullshit thats not how the real story went when they were ambushed, they were killed in the car while driving down the road and the cops waited for them until they got close and they fired on them and continued firing at the car until it stopped, it wasn't a prettty scene and it was true thier bodies got rained on with bullets and no way nobody will ever come back from that alive.
@Sclobbi please God, I hope not.. Hilary Duff and Kevin Zeigers?? Who's gonna play CW Moss Justin Bieber?!? No remake please! Leave it to Beatty and Dunaway for the finest portrayal of Bonnie and Clyde ever seen!
WOW!! What a scene! I was only 11 when the movie came out, so, of course, I could not see it. I don't think that I ever did see the movie in its entirety, but only bits and pieces of it.
@kgav10 Yes, Bonnie and Clyde was driving from the city leaving C.W. Moss behind because the sherif showed up and they couldnt wait for him, so they decided to pick him up later, on the way back to the house they saw Malcolm with his car broken or something, but he called the police to set a trap, and the trap apparently worked as you see, i myself find this scene sad, dont get me wrong im glad they didnt get to rob anymore, but still.. kinda sad (:
When I first watched this movie, when I was 10 or 9, This scene made me CRY! I thought it was really sad. I still do! Give me a break, I was like 10. I'm 13 now.
Those tow are really tought, did you saw how many bullets they took and were still alive.

“Well, we got them.” Frank Hamer
O! Mr. Hamer!
By killing them, you made them forever young.
By sparing them the indignity of capture, you made them forever wild and free.
By killing Bonnie, you made her a martyr forever to the oldest cause, the love of a woman for a man.
By trapping them, you bound yourself to them forever, for, were it not for Bonnie and Clyde, you would be largely forgotten today.
O! Mr. Hamer, who got whom?

When I first watched this movie, when I was 10 or 9, This scene made me CRY! I thought it was really sad. I still do! Give me a break, I was like 10. I'm 13 now.
