Take this from someone who's first CD ever was Master of Puppets in 1990. THIS SUCKS even for a demo. The music is great, except for Lars' pitter patter drumming it seems he is only capable of. The vocals AND lyrics are terrible, just as they are on Death Magnetic for nearly every track. All Nightmare Long is the strongest track of the album for sure. I ate, breathed, lived Metallica into my 20's but they have become a mockery of their former selves. I would still have a blast seeing them live:)

Metallica paved the road for Thrash. There is and never will be a band like them. But they decided to turn pop during the black album and have rode thier fame from there out. They still make some good tunes but they have lost thier edge. Its like a 12 volt battery with only a couple live cells it still has juice but it just doesn't turn your starter like it used to.

Metallica's only flaw is that they come up with amazing songs that NEVER see the light of day. Some of their greatest riffs/songs get squashed by their producers/management. Metallica releasing all of the shit they recorded in the studio would be AMAZING.
