You can't go out once or even three times and expect to see it because it doesn't always show up contrary to pop belief. Anyone who says this is headlights is NOT seeing the right light. Ive been there at least, literally 50 times maybe more. I'd go there every weekend in high school because it was something to do and my friends and I liked to find anything paranormal to investigate. Francessville and surrounding areas are covered in dark activity. I know this because I'm clairvoyant and that road is NOT car lights. Its just car lights from highway 49 which sits in a perfect line with that road minus the corn field in between. When the light gets red your seeing tail lights. sometimes the light even has what looks like multiple lights on top of each other, thats, you guessed it, multiple car lights. 49 also has its up and downs hence the appearing and disappearing of the light
It's pretty cool, I'm not saying it is a ghost, but the light really does appear, gets brighter, and moves across the street. When you get close it does indeed disappear. It is worth a look, whatever it is.
another ghost story without anyone witnessing it knowing anything about alternative explainations? i'd like to see if a team of people couldn't go there and disprove this ghoist in 10 minutes...
and if u believe in moodys road not to sound like a dick but I'd like proof it exhists I've never seen any popular ghost hunting people check it out yet so I'm not one to be a skeptic I've seen ghosts and shit but I don't beieve its haunted thats just my opinion but I'm going to go there on my way to the silo and use some actual equipment so maybe I could be proven wrong and I'll make sure to post everything I find if I do but go to the silo for sure if u go that way
also if u try to climb up the grafitti stops a certain ways up u can't climb past the grafitti ur body goes completely numb and won't let u climb up and there are red eyes in the window too also my buddy went up it and the thing started shaking under neath him and its bolted down solid wind couldn't have moved it so I'd go there instead alot more activity just be careful people have fell off in died and not slipped off but said to have been flung off so just a warning

i went one night with two buddies. we kept racing up n down the gravel road because nothing was happening. then as soon as we parked back by the stump, the light was halfway up the road. there is a house with two lights at the end of the driveway. then came a lil closer. we went to take off and it shot across the field and came past the stump then vanished. never been back since!

I am from Rensselaer and know that Rensselaer used to be swamp land. Swamp lands over time produce a gas from decaying plants. Now the gas is being realeased and it produces a blueish light when light is shined through it. There are cars that go down highway 49 and the headlights shine through the gas. Thats all the moody light is it is.
so swamp gas, which are nowhere near indiana, from a weather balloon is trapped in a thermal pocket that reflected light from venus. ...blah blah blah, it just a mysterious light, quit trying to prove something scientifically, theres one here in SD.

My friends and I were out there all the time, and in fact I know a family who lives right on that road. The story has changed over the years, and I don't know if anyone really knows the truth. I will say that the elders in the town knew someone had hung themselves from that tree... but whether it was Moody or not... hmmm...

Moodie's daughter and her boyfreind were in a car accident and died.moody died of old age. so now when ever you flick your light 3 time it will summon moody.that is it
I've been there. That tree stump has satanic signs carved into it. There's a small incline on the road and one time there were two lights that slowly came over that incline. When he says there's nothing beyond that road, he means it. It's just a drop off into a field of nothing. No known source of the light can be explained
my 6th grade teacher grew up there and so shes writing a story about it.
they had EVERY single newspaper since that town started,except the one with mr. moody stuff in it.
and then his grand daughter or something went to school with my 6th grade teacher,and that school had every single yearbook except those years that his grand daughter went to school.
it freaked the whole class out when she told us. its so interesting though.
