Well the reason is capitalism, and one of the main sources of world famine is meat production. I find it hard to not see non-vegan living people as hypocrites when they talk about "someone should help the starving".

Now they just sit there waiting for the next shipment. We could send millions of cargo planes full of food and feed them for a month. Do you know what will happen the next month? They will need more planes of food, mean while they sit upon the most fertile land on the planet.
the aid they hav been getting doesnt work. Not because of the people but because of the corrupt rulers that are in charge of how the aid is spent. most doesnt reach that people and is used to further their own regimes.
The people would rather have their own sustainable society as opposed to depending on handouts.
They money isn't being used to establish that sustainable society as it should be.
They need help but are not getting the kind of help they need.

We send billions in aid for these countries every year but the peoples of these nations don't seem to do anything for their own people. You watch the leadership and they seem to be fat and well cared for. I don't get it? As for the war victims yes I think our Gov should be tried for was crimes...
