@electroxxxd actually it was each written by the other, Jane Weidlen of the GoGos, and Terry Hall... It Belonged equally to both Bands........you are incorrect... somewhat...this band did no cover but you are correct in that the GoGos wrote their own...usually Jane at the helm/
I was out in a deparment store today, this song came on the radio. Couldn't wait to listen to it again on You Tube.. Thanks for posting! Always loved this track!
TheManolakis Has spoken Maybe he has come out of the closet? Tell Your Daddy and Mummy ! IF its any other reason and you don't like 80's or this this song P155 OFF. But some of us are happily married with kids and still enjoy 80's music N3rd.
This IS a cover...but Terry Hall wrote it, and I think he does a fantastic job on it. It's dark and moody, just like he is :D. It's my favourite version of the tune, even though I do like the Gogos version of it quite a bit.
since it was written by jane wiedlin and terry hall, and this is Terry Hall singing it, you can't really say this is a cover. You can't do a cover of a song you wrote.
even though their lips are sealed the song says so much - one in the eye for the nasty gossips who have no life of their own & find strength in numbers.
Fab song this is true, but not really ska its more New Wave 80's...haha loads of top rockers and punks went through this kind of phase in the eighties like Weller with Style Council, google image them and check out some of his styles and haircuts-funny!!! PEACE
great tune, remember taping this from the telly holding my tape recorder up to it!! used to listen to this, specials, and belle star "sign of the times" god bless the 80`s :))
well ive always been into twotone and the like so followed him when he formed funboy three, he did some great tunes, and as you say the lyrics etc are excellent
Does Terry Hall own a time machine? Because this song is clearly about Facebook.

The Colourfield is one of the best bands in the 80s. My favorite songs of theirs are "Thinking Of You" and "Windwills Of Your Mind".

Certainly a lot darker than the Go-Go's version...each is really appropriate for each group though. I'm a fan of both versions.

Great song! Thanks much for sharing. And on a side-note.... I think Jane Wiedlin's the hottest of all the Go-Go's, IMHO :)

@TrueCourse For me Belinda was the hot one and Jane was the cute one. Just my opinion.

Was written by Go-Go's guitarist Jane Wiedlin and Terry Hall. In my opinion this is the better!! Long live the 80's....best decade evr!!!!!!

In my humble opinion, this is about a thousand times better than the Go Go's version. This is nice and eerie. The Go Go's version is too sunny...

Wasn't a fan of them at the time ... or even now, but I'd be the first to say that this song was/is simply cool as f**k!!!
The whole song is deceptively simple in both structure and delivery.
Todays "musicians" could learn a lot from listening to this.
Best listened to loud ... d'you agree?
