The thing is that the 3 Prime Evils planned the whole thing out - they wanted this to happen for some reason - and part of the plan was to cause distractions so that Baal could assult Mt. Arret and corrupt the worldstone. Tyreal smashed the woldstone, which may have completed their grand plan.

Yeah this is so not the same game any more. It's cool though. In Diablo one the world leading to Diablo began at a church in a quiet town, with a brutal death and fearful report. You descend and gradually leave the known realm to enter hell itself. Genius. This looses the subtlety and finesse of the original game's story line. With it's simple town, gradual progression, and mild music. Now the game opens with the grandeur of a J.R.R. Tolkien LSD trip.

yeah but the Balrog and Diablo (I'm assuming this is Diablo far obvious reasons) are very alike in almost every detail according to the trailer, except that Diablo is all fire not shadowy... the Balrog is something that is one of the most badass creatures of all time, so it makes sense that Blizz would take it for Diablo 3 :D

That's true in most cases, but typically not where Blizzard is concerned. If they released D3 and SCII on the same day both would sell millions of copies within the first few hours worldwide. Though there would be people who bought one the first month and the other the next month or when their next pay check is given to them.

I think both of you are partially right. I do not think it'll be a shitty game but at the same time after seeing the gameplay vid I honestly wasn't too excited (and, honestly, who would be excited about being an OLD barbarian?). Even most of the ppl who made D2 have left blizzard. However blizzard is still blizzard and the cutscenes are definitely beast. I look forward to seeing this game, if maybe not actually playing it.

Warcraft may have a bigger story behind it. But Diablo doesn't have any plotholes like crashed spaceships to worry about. The Naaru? What did that have to do with anything?

what do you mean? Sargeras corrupted Kil'jaedan and Archimonde (the two most powerful Naaru), the rest of the Naaru escaped the planet and went to azeroth..

The Naaru is creatures of almost pure ligt, who somehow had conncetions with The Pantheon, and are allying races to fight the bruning legion of invaded worlds

Yeah this is so not the same game any more. It's cool though. In Diablo one the world leading to Diablo began at a church in a quiet town, with a brutal death and fearful report. You descend and gradually leave the known realm to enter hell itself. Genius. This looses the subtlety and finesse of the original game's story line. With it's simple town, gradual progression, and mild music. Now the game opens with the grandeur of a J.R.R. Tolkien LSD trip.

they will make a game similar to its Original but with way more new things to play with and experience :p

yeah but I was just refering to the fact that its scream was making the heat waves, and I compared it to the balrog because it was around before this trailer was released depicting Diablo in this fashion.

Lol. I guess you didnt know Blizz took like half the architecture designs from LOTR and put that into northrend. A lot of their monsters were from D&D, which was inspired by LOTR.

yeah but the Balrog and Diablo (I'm assuming this is Diablo far obvious reasons) are very alike in almost every detail according to the trailer, except that Diablo is all fire not shadowy... the Balrog is something that is one of the most badass creatures of all time, so it makes sense that Blizz would take it for Diablo 3 :D

I think it's to avoid 'cannibalisation.' they have already developed games and now they want people to play those games long enough, and focus on those games (and spend money on them) - if they release the next game too soon, people will forget about the previous ones - it's like shooting themselves in the foot

That's true in most cases, but typically not where Blizzard is concerned. If they released D3 and SCII on the same day both would sell millions of copies within the first few hours worldwide. Though there would be people who bought one the first month and the other the next month or when their next pay check is given to them.
If they were both of the same genre it may be more true, though probably not. Do you remember how much people wanted that old April fools 2-bit game blizzard made?

I think both of you are partially right. I do not think it'll be a shitty game but at the same time after seeing the gameplay vid I honestly wasn't too excited (and, honestly, who would be excited about being an OLD barbarian?). Even most of the ppl who made D2 have left blizzard. However blizzard is still blizzard and the cutscenes are definitely beast. I look forward to seeing this game, if maybe not actually playing it.
