@MrDuckslayer97 There was actually room enough to stay put, but the truck was on top of the far set of tracks, and I think the driver didn't know which one the oncoming train was on and decided to make a dash for it. (Even if it had been on the far track, it would have cost less to back into the dropped gate than write off a truck!) The turnoff is now completely redesigned and has extra sets of grade crossing lights.

@MrDuckslayer97 Hey I was there when this happen. I was parked along the side of the road ( to the left of the video) He passed me when the lights and bells were on and drove onto the tracks. The front gate came down first and then the back gate. After he backed up and stopped he would have been fine. He could of back through the gate because there was nobody behind him to be in his way.

Usually there should have been big red blinking lights going off before the gates goes down. If we tell kids that drive today about what to go when those gates and/or red light goes off they probably don't know what to do because trains are used less frequently little by little every year. But its a lesson some of us have to learn and sometimes the hard way too.
