omg if he is alive and well and living in L.A. why in the world isnt anyone using him in martial arts movies??? He could play an old grey haired kung fu grand master, old school style, like they did with Gordon Lu in Kill Bill. Somebody call the Shaw Brothers! :)
you brothers nailed it with this! I remember seeing the poster for Soul Brothers of Kung Fu back in the day and being SOOOOO completely psyched to see a brother that was just DA F--ING BOMB in a Chinese Kung Fu film. Man does anyone know what happened to him? Sun Dragon and Kung Fu Executioners can be streamed on Netflix. In fact I just added them to my queue. Thank you for sharing this! Iremember watching Superpower at least three times on the big screen when it it was released in '79 or '80

Thank you for recognizing a TRUE legend in martial arts cinema. One of the best that ever did it, PERIOD! Much respect to the super talented Carl Scott!
- I have a very mixed view of Sun Dragon (aka "A Hard Way To Die").
I thought the action was fantastic, which I guess is the most important thing. The story was OK. The dubbing, was HORRIBLE, and the attention to detail was not the greatest. The movie was set in the early 1900's in the west, but the men in the film looked very 1970's.
@smoothpants But ya gotta admit the man had good action moves in film largely because of Asian fight choreographers that worked with him. Most film companies in Hong Kong in the 70s/80s had shoestring budgets so you get what you paid for in terms of beliveable Wild west look for the film.
I got started in the Martial Arts thanks to Carl R. Scott, Bill Chong, Bruce Lee and watching many Shaw Brother movies. My senior student and I have always said that Carl has always been underrated and to anyone who knows him personally please let him know that in Connecticut we think he's the greatest.
I agree carl will always be underated. But overseas he and ron van cleef are cult ledgends. But for the record, van cleef was a little better than jim kelly.
