Yeah I took it the sameway, that The Dog at the end realized how messed it was by its original owner... As soon as he saw a Old White Guy, it triggered in him to HATE the one that trained him against the true people that loved him - the black guy & white girl...
Outside of that, this movie is awesome! You dont see movies made like this anymore, now everything is CGI, summer blockbusters and really not much with a message or an edge!
@AllDreamsFades The old man was depicted as being the dog's owner who was an old man. It was a sign of the dog turning against him. Though, the dog had figured he was the same way.
@NtoxicatedForum I'm talking about sending the dog to Michael Vick. So Michael Vick can give the dog a taste of his own medicine. Also, I'm not WHITE I'm BLACK and I love Malcolm X

@ShamelessNation I think the film requires some suspension of disbelief to move forward with its theme, that prejudice is a learned behavior and once learned cannot be unlearned. Granted, it could've been written better, but apparently, it was controversial enough as is.
@WildWestSamurai I don't know about animals, but human beings are born prejudice...it's not learned. Greed, jealousy, fear, violence are all accepted as innate traits. I don't know why bigotry is any different.
@ShamelessNation Bigotry is, in a way, tied to fear, mainly fear of the unknown. If a baby meets another baby of a different skin color, hair color, or other physical trait it's not familiar with in its everyday life, it will stare longer. That isn't bigotry. That's confusion, curiosity, and maybe apprehension. How that baby grows to react to such differences is taught by family, friends, community, and social media, and that can foster bigotry.
Also the very end, That Dog was AMAZING! How in the world do you train him to acted like that??

Paul Winfield was one of the most respectable actors to ever live. He never accepted just any role. All of his roles depicted power REAL men.

I guess at the end the dog developed a hatred against old people.

I never seen this growing up in the 80's powerful and highly controversial. In South Africa I know this is done also.
