I've noticed that, in his past films, his voice, however beautiful, didn't always project like it should have and it got snagged in his "Boston". It had to make the difference in his roles. If it's actually true that he's never watched any of his own films, he should have, however uncomfortable for him, and used them as reference points because he would have noticed things like that but he's still in a class by himself. Off-beat and adorable.

Sure, okay, age and time are cruel but I'm lying to myself like some others and denying that he can't polish up his hidden assets. Acting is 70%-100% what you look like. Whether we like it or know or not and unless he plans to play bloated lawyers for the rest of his career, he should go all out to improve what God gave him.

He was my prototype for who knows how long. I saw him in BL reruns and went backwards from there with my DVDs. He has a .......of talent and I hope he always works. Whether he does or not, I do wish he'd get his discipline back, hit the running track, leave the comfort foods alone, do a helluva lot of eye exercises and get laser surgeries. There's an impressively, chiseled-chinned older hottie screaming to get out.

Just curious... Have you EVER seen Spader playing Alan Shore in Boston Legal, even once, and still say that he cannot convey emotion with a glance? chick, thanks for mentioning the writers! I'm a pro freelance writer; my husband and I are addicted to BL. He loves the brilliant acting of course; but I reminded him that behind Alan, Denny, Shirley, Paul, "Hands" and all the bad guys are the WRITERS. Shatner acknowledges that without the writers, the characters wouldn't be what they are, he and Spader/Alan especially. It takes an entire team to produce a show as great as BL - no one person could do it alone. Writers Rule!
