No, that is not true, they set the base camp in places less likely to get hit, but there is no such thing as no danger. Especially when we talk about the hardest mountains like K2, and Anapurna, sometimes the base camps are completely destroyed but avalanches and wind.
Everest is not that hard, it's just more famous because it's the tallest, but less step, that's why so many have climbed it, and why there "many" guides there.
@Jul123live i know what your saying, but Base Camp is placed in a spot where avalanches are about as likely to reach it as you getting struck by lightening while reading this...not literally, but you get the idea :) haha
