  • Would anyone know where I could find a phototransistor rated for 120V????? My project is to make a light dim with increased ambient light and brighten with less ambient light. Can ANYONE PLEASE HELP??????????????

  • Is that a CCFL or LED bulb????

  • it's spelled acquisition. not adquisition. must be a typo.

  • what r those light bulbs called

  • Now you can please any whore's mood

  • please don't send me one of these for my birthday, please! so ugly

  • lol, i thought u had really small hands at 8 secs in!

  • @batterycock yeah me too, and it was weird because they's hairy... hairy baby fingas!!!!

  • a bulb in a bulb

  • I suppose so. They started out as NEDs and now I can't find them at all.. (Noise Emitting Diodes)

  • i want that lamp

  • lol

  • Isso há à venda no Jumbo ;)

  • Yes. LEDs. Blue LEDs have always been bright and have recently been joined by all the old standby colors in high efficiency versions. Difference is, the chip for blue is transparent. The red through green chips were dull and opaque. Not much light got out. Now, most LED chips are transparent to their own colors.. Red to UV.. and now, even X-Ray! And, of course, the Dark Emitting Diode. I have loads of DEDs. They only seem to work once tho.. don't know what I'm doing wrong.

  • No, once you have a Dark Emitting Diode, it lasts forever and is always on, even without power!

  • Nice bulb!! But it's powered by LED?

  • LMAO

  • those globes are good for use with outdoor christmas lights

  • The color-changing bulb can be had @ Wal*Mart. But what I really like is the "giant light bulb" lamp. I had one of those (from the 70's) when I was a kid & still regret getting rid of it!

  • i think this lamp is really cute :-D

    kind regards from germany

  • riight,, great, umm,. yeah.. , !

  • sick

  • is one lumen equal to one candle?

  • how many lumens is the LED bulb? 60?

  • probably more.

  • lmao color changing farts lol... rip one and turns red ftw.

  • We need an LED circuit that will flash to different colors when different audio frequencies are heard. Then we can put them in the bathrooms to hear the "color" of our farts. -Just a thinking man's idea of fun.

  • thats a pretty cool idea, but very unpractical for use

  • Nice!!! So its a instant switching color kind and not a soft slow color changing kind? I wonder if there will ever be a time there's a LED bulb that actually produces HEAT used for Lava-lamps so there will be changing colors for LAVALAMPS! Good idea huh?

  • something so simple... can be so fun.... totally useless; but cool, at the same time! Thanks.

  • yay that was a an awsome waste of my time

  • Sort of an annoying light. Unless placed in a pumpkin for halloween maybe.

  • wow, all this technology, and we are mezmerized by a disco light. maybe I should come up with some ultra high-tech gizmo that pops out of my computer and smacks me in the head everytime I come up with a stupid idea. or, I can just go out in my garage, get my hammer and pound away senselessly. seems like a lot less work.

  • Don't give yourself brain damage.

  • What the hell?

  • One Again, You Can Get Them For Under 30$ (Maybe Under 20$) at walmart

  • Check out my music video!

  • ooh woow!

  • dude,ive seen it before

  • Some people never saw a LED before?

    Nothing special about that...

  • I liked it

  • Ho-hum, so 3 years ago. Color Kinetics came out w/ a color-changing LED Lightro Bulb way back then. I own two of 'em already. And they have 5 functions, plus a strobe light feature :)

  • hey question how exactly did you make that or buy that or what not I REALLLY REALLLLY want one

  • Um- "WOW", so, like, when there's nuthin' on TV, and I'm really bored, I can stare at a light bulb?

    WWWOOOOWWWW *d-r-o-o-l*

  • wow.... how much is tat? i wan it!!!!

  • datz so cool gimme gimme

  • wmplayer do it...

  • awesome!

  • thats bad ass!

  • i think geek should get laid so girls can get one

  • I agree, fair enough. lol

  • I have to say it's pretty cool, imagine this ifor a party, it'll be a hit, it really does add to yer party ! It is geeky, but usefull (kind of)

  • that is dumb give me a soldering iron and 20 bucks and I could make one of those, and you wouldnt have to dismantle it to make it change colour

  • Thanks to THHINKGEEK.COM, now anything that you could find in a cracker-ass novelty store like Spencers is suddenly "Geeky". Dude, if it was "GEEKY", you would have made it yourself with IC chips and LED's and a transformer and a lighbulb-to-electrical-outlet adapter and some duct tape. This is just corny!

  • cool

  • right on! i want one! but you sure might want a tri-pod.

  • cool light bulb!

  • Okay... first of all, yes they do sell them, but just because they do it doesn't mean you have to go and act all snooty because you know they do. Lots of people already know that. You look dumb when you point out the obvious. And I'm not talking to anyone specific. It's just a really big problem on youtube.

  • I want one..

  • That's the coolest thing I've ever seen! He should patent that so I can buy one.

  • Wow, a color changing light bulb, I've never seen one of those.

  • Why does that dude have a piece of carpet glued to his wrist?

  • haha! exactly what I tought when I saw him...

  • my friend has one of those in her appartment : /

  • hahaha it was funny in the begining but i want one of those lights Stop hatin dollar store shopper... cool

  • You know these have been around for years.

  • Dollar Store..

  • il never get that minute back !

  • uhh..ok!

  • 1:10 wasted

    damn

  • Well your discovery wasn't as interesting as this light thing.

  • yep, you nailed exactly what i was gonna say, good work colmas :D

  • i think the bulb is just an old fashoned flash bulb that flashes and then slowly decays, unlike a flash from a camera today. My theory is that the one clip of the flash bulb flashing was looped, while each time it played, the hues on the film were changed, this is why the color of the wall is opposite, or complimentary to the color of the bulb, eg. blue-orange, red-green, purple-yellow, and so on. its a bit of work for something so ordinary

  • Dude, you're over analyzing a product that you can buy at Bed Bath and Beyond. It's a color changing light bulb....

  • well i guess if you have a REALLY low attention span that would be pretty entertaining. and yet...i recommend getting a TV.

  • you can buy those as is, i sell them at work

  • when the lightbulb turns purple, the wall illuminates green, OF COURSE ITS FAKE!!! the camera is changing its hues, end of story. Tell the loser with no life who made this video to go do something productive with his life, like gettin a real job!.

  • when it lightbulb turns purple, the wall illuminates green, OF COURSE ITS FAKE!!! the camera is changing its hues, end of story. Tell the loser with no life who made this video to go do something productive with his life, like gettin a real job!.

  • okay...that was just stupid.

  • Pretty~

  • who cares

  • I really like that! I want to have one for my room.

    So...pretty...*drool*

  • verry good

  • i almost had an epileptic attack you fuck

  • seriously, grow up... if you dont like it, dont bother to post, no1 cares wut yu have to say

  • hmmm. i really like the video but some people are getting too obsesed with "its fake". i agree with whoevever said that the camera is ajustig its hues. yes i am a geek, bur a renasance geek. I even snowboard

  • thats absolutely shit, what type of loser gets so excited over a light bulb that have obviously watched the video various times to pin-point the colours and crap. Its a fricking light bulb dudes!

  • have to admit, not v.impressed. Much MUCH prefer the light emitting t-shirts from philips, they're fantastic!!!

  • WOW!! I like that! Now if only the colours change gradually that would give such a crazy effect dudes!

  • shiny.. *_*

  • very cool i like the housing more

  • nice

  • Teraflopz - stop staing into the light. Move on.

  • lame

  • Not very impressive

  • does someone know where this bulb can be bought? if yes, please send me a letter!

  • Pretty cool.

  • i can do with editor :).I don't need special lamp ;)

  • Wow! A lightbulb that changes color! That would be totally impressive...if this were 1965. Am I missing the big deal here?

  • My god that's awesome!I want one!

  • what my question is why does everyone care so much? its just a friggin lightbulb! man !!!

  • Thank you. That would be my question too. Who cares if the green light leads to a pink shadow. Clearly teraflopz has been staring at the light bulb too long.

  • Why is it so hard to understand? It's a simple LED bulb.

  • just like the lights in Luneta park in Manila philippines...

  • Lol.

Shame we don't have Walmarts here >.>

  • wow. thats one way to get the girls...lol

  • Where does one acquire such a bulb? =c_c=

  • Walmart...

  • The colour on the wall is complimentary to the colour the bulb is emitting which could be achieved by adjusting the hue of the footage but Ive heard of these bulbs and it would just be the camera compensating for the colour of the bulb by adjusting the hue of the recording probably. If u stare at a green square for ages then look at a white paper you see a red square it will just be a similar effect

  • i have one of these light bulbs and you can buy them at walmart

  • (con'd) ...Why it shows thru the bulb instead of being reflected WITHIN the bulb i can only guess is due to some strange electronic effect u get from recording digital video of bright/electronic things like when u see a computer or tv screen on camera. yeah... i'm a geek.

  • as for the strange lighting effect, i can only offer some insight. Ive seen light filters used in movie-theater decor where the filter allows one color to pass while reflecting everything else; if u'll notice, the colors on the wall and in the bulb are opposite, complementary colors.

  • i dont know why everyone's questioning its authenticity. Color-changing LED lights are cheap and plentiful; u can find lower wattage ones on toys/keychains/neclaces at the dollar store!

  • They are not questioning the authenticity because of the colorchange of the bulb, but the complementary colors at the wall!

  • the camera is fake...rite?

  • you can effing buy lightbulbs like this at wal-mart.

    it's real, idiots.

  • i think the voltage is regulated, which results in different temperatures of the filament: Thus, a different color is achieved each time.

(else, the camera is fake :) )

  • holy fuck, man ur smart to do that shit!

  • it's impressive that people can find a way to hate on a lightbulb. must be jealous or something i guess.

  • Probably has several colored LEDs and a small switch-mode power supply inside the frosted housing. A sequencer switches different combinations of LEDs.

  • dude... I don't trust it, do it with another lamp right next to it without the super geek bulb, I think it's fake man...

  • So fukin Geek ... I love it

    :P

  • I have seen something like this before.

    IT IS NOT FAKE.

  • it just looks like you edited the video afterwards by changing the color of the footage

  • um ya this is not real... why would the bulb glow blue (1:00) and the wall be red?

  • incredibly super cool.

  • i want to blow out my retinas why??? i already wear glasses

  • i have those bulbs on my cristmas tree this video is lame

  • wow, i seizure inducing lightbulb, I WANT ONE!

  • Haha... funny. Nice vid editing.

  • They Sell Them At Wal-Mart

  • Hahaha, yours was the best comment so far. :-)

  • shame there are no wal-marts here =[ i want one lool

  • well that's gorgeous. where's the big screaming face that jumps out at us when we expect to see more?

  • Yeah people will actually watch someone change a lightbulb. Now that takes skill.

  • you wasted a minute of my life.. bastard

  • Ahahahaha nicely put. I saw this before I watched it so was prepared to agree (I figured he just filmed a lightbulb) but then it fricken changed colour!! Totally wasn't expecting that. (Yeah I admit I am fascinated by really small things) Hahahahahahaha

  • that's so gay :P

  • cool

  • ok either his camera isnt that good or its a fake cuz the wall changes color way after the bulb changes if u look closely so either my comp is laggy, his camera isnt that great, or its a fake soo yea whatever it is this is still a very homosexual and pointless thing

  • Nigga Please!

  • The camera obviously isn't a high quality studio level camera to say the least..

You can buy these bulbs for like 20 bucks or less..

Do a quick google search if you don't believe it.

  • those are like thin light bulbs in one little round thing jus like christmas lights but thinner i think

  • wooo! thats cool lol i want one

  • All You nerds need to get lives. CANT U TELL THAT NO 1 CARES!!!!

  • What kind of bulb is this? where did you pick it up?

  • What is the thing u put on the light bulb

  • Seizures!

  • nice

  • 60 hours? best 60 hours youve ever spent im sure...u shouldnt admit that

  • all he did was change the hue of the vid, its fake

  • haha..

  • you are a fucking dumb assss. holy crap man. i cant figure out stupid people like you. something being new and different, doesnt make it fake you dumb piece of shit.

  • Actually, it's not fake. The Wal*Mart here in town sells them...

  • ypu can tell cuz the outside of the lamp is opposite on the color wheel that the bulb is.

  • The camera is probably trying to adjust the whitebalance on the fly and as a result it interprets some colors wrong. This is a problem that I've ran into while using CCD cameras.

  • and now i'm blind.

  • Cool. ^^ I want one.

  • Too bad he flicked us off in French at the end.

  • I would have liked this better with the same proportions of a normal bulb.

  • Yeah, get a girlfriend.

  • yeah so you can live your lifge wihtout achieving anything! Cept being bitched at! lol

  • 60 hours straight playing a video game, huh? Easy to see that you've never been laid.

  • lol good one!

  • uh....ok....what a bright idea! *thumbs up* not --;

  • gaaah! fake!!!! fake!!! i get mad!!

  • quite homosexual, yes

  • o_O... Does it really matter if it's fake or not? -sweatdrop.- It looks cool, even if it is, and that's kind of the point, I think. >_>

  • Well said XD

  • look for "led lightbulb" , in germany i found a lot "led glühbirnen" , its the translation ...

  • this is a blatant fake, they used simple hue rotation, the bulb and the wall have a constant hue difference about half of the hue scale. it's lame!! :D
