@RepairsUniverse Yea, the slide assembly really had me stumped. I checked your prices for the screen replacement and it was the best price I've found. I'll be ordering one soon.
My screens not broken, its just when I slide it up the backlight turns off. It works perfectly when its closed but once I slide it up, the backlight turns off. Now I have to keep trying multiple times till I get lucky and the light stays on.....this sucks. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Damn that's a lot of work....well not that much really..but does anyone think that will work with my shadow phone? I got water damage on mine. The keys still light up along with the main inner circle button, and at the top of it where the bluetooth and power LED lights still flash....I just get an all black screen though....im trying to 'clean' my LCD screen instead of replacing it...don't know if it'll work though..
@hollisprophet Sounds like the LCD is damaged and will need replacing. You can find the replacements cheaply at RepairsUniverse (dot) com if the cleaning doesn't work.
Micro SD PROBLEM FIX: card worked when pushed in & HELD, but didn't lock: spring pushed back. card slot cover not rigid enough to hold, either. tried jamming in wad of paper next to it (friction hold). cut glossy biz card lengthwise, SD-wide, accordion folded. pushed all in with blunt knife. got SD card to click in, remove paper. another: 2-part epoxy to seal card in place. that's permanent!
SPEAKER PROBLEM FIX: speaker sounded tinny. didn't open/replace, just blew in compressed air. fixed!
i have the same type of screen problem! cant see anything but i can make and receive calls using keypad. i recently got a new cell phone but the problem is i cant get the contacts out of my htc shadow!! is there any way i can get the contacts out using usb cable hooking up to a PC , if yes what kinda software do i need to use? i will be really glad if you help me out :)
@jaguar0969 Just got the screen in the mail today. There is no screwdriver.... awesome, thanks repairs universe for saying all tools are included and they aren't. Should have just went with the free upgrade from my phone company.
can i replace the screen (front glass) without taking the phone a part ???

@reniaszek Sadly, no. The flex cable and its connector is located on the interior of the phone.

Thank you, this looks like a very complicated disassembly. I looked at the phone and couldn't figure out how to take it apart.
tdjtx 9 months ago
@tdjtx No Problem! The Shadow is not the easiest phone to take apart, but far from the hardest. Does take some patients with the slide assembly.
