I first heard that when Cher was lousing what little voice she ever had. She sounded like she was blowing Sponge Bob Square Pants.Sponge sings better than that stupid bitch.
Things evolve. Automobiles changed the horse-drawn cart industry. My wife and I hand-make jewellery, but the glitzy factory-made stuff makes ours look overpriced. We're having to think and develop to keep the income arriving. I gotta say though, that I've just seen your performance of 'Wagon Wheel" and I reckon that there is no computer program that will ever bring the same magic to a performance like you guys achieved. Keep channeling that good stuff!!! Best wishes from NZ.
What you're saying, my brother, is SPOT ON! People these days are so obsessed with perfection till the point where they'd be blinded with falseness. Look around us, it's not only in the music industry, it's everywhere; plastic surgery, auto-tunes, airbrushed images... No wonder our generation suffers so much from psychological issues. PERFECTION IS BORING, not to mention an ILLUSION!
I did some recordings in a studio without auto tune..I studied voice for many years....worked hard....
I insulted someone on the net that is a celebrity who is auto tuned and sound synthetic...people accused me of not knowing what I am talking about and insulted my real singing....
They became extremely angry and defensive...the music that they love is so slick and there is not much soul in it because it sounds so perfect...
Haha whats up J rock! Yea man I agree, artists that use it TASTEFULY, absolutly cool. But "singers" that use it to mask the fact that they can't sing? Ugh can't stand it!
TONY! Its Jeremy! I was checking out your channel, that I didn't really realize you folks have.. I agree like 90%.. Auto tune shouldn't be a crutch, but depending on the style of music, if applied the right way, it can be a powerful tool for that 'emotionless electronic' quality that it has.
Is it overdone? absolutely. Does it have its place? Yes. Just like synthesizers, sequences and drum machines, its artificial quality can be a useful tool in achieving certain responses from the listener.
@Th3OriginalGing3r To append, it is useful for someone like you and Dani? Probably not, but your music is about being raw and nature. There was a time when electric guitars and microphones were said to be the end of music, and took all of the emotion out. It is about how and why it is used, not the tool itself.
Absolutely correct. And you did sound much better without it! Thanks for the comment on my video. Autotune and studio perfection has made it very hard for young talented people to present themselves to record labels because they expect top quality amazing demos these days. It is killing chances for talented musicians with dreams because everything has to be perfect now, without a single off note and without a single problem with production. We'll keep fighting for real music, I'm glad you agree
I absolutly agree with you there Zed. Like that Cher tune "Do You Believe" or whatever it was called. That was tasteful use of Auto Tune. Its the people who use it to mask the lack of talent that ruins it for me. The fact that some one can go into a booth, lay down a "vocal track" that is VERY substandard, and have the engineer press a few buttons and it sounds pitch perfect. No talent there.
Just because it has been used in a rather inane, uninteresting way as of late in the hip hop industry, this does not mean auto-tune is a scourge. I'm sure someone who actually felt like tinkering and making something interesting could create something remarkable and quite unique utilizing the effect.
So stumbled on this through searching for the Cold song. But I totally agree with the sentiment. I know I've got friends who are auto-tune adverse and I think there is a growing anti-auto-tune sentiment in my generation. Hope that more artists agree with you man. And just thought I'd throw in that you have a fantastic voice. No need for the A-T.
Dude I agree 100%. Autotune is like cheatin. I suppose it has its few uses, but it shouldn't be used to make an album. It's a buncha bullshit, its not fair to people with real talent like you and your band. Thumbs UP!
AMEN!

I like your voice without auto tune...but they have other means to change people's voices with auto tune beside just tuning it don't they?

Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm really hoping our generation will tire of the polished slick junk and get back to the roots of real music!

Agreed. It's completely devaluing musicianship!
You have a pretty incredible voice by the way :)
