A huge bus pulled up and only five guys got out. A few days later all of the equipment packed into that bus was in my basement and half of it was musical instruments I'd never seen before: huge gongs, saxophones of all sizes from 7' tall down to the smallest, every percussion instrument that would fit. I thought many were novelties until I witnessed them used in practice for 8 hours a day 7 days a week for a month in preparation for a US tour. True masters practice every day and they show it.

Me too. One of the great features of Hyde Park in those days (late 60s early 70s). I think the Ida Noyes gigs were before they went to Paris or just after their return.I didn't really "get" them until much later....
